What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The paper is primarily dedicated to addressing the application issues of fibrous electrochemical energy storage devices (FEESDs) in smart wearable devices. Specifically: 1. **Improving Flexibility and Compatibility**: Traditional planar energy storage devices tend to deform when bent or stretched, whereas fibrous structures, due to their excellent flexibility and breathability, are more suitable for integration into textiles, offering better comfort and adaptability. 2. **Material Design and Performance Optimization**: Conductive polymers (CPs) are widely used in the design of fibrous electrodes due to their high conductivity, good flexibility, and biocompatibility. However, the main challenges currently faced include how to further enhance energy storage capacity, reduce internal resistance, and simplify the technical difficulties in the assembly process. 3. **Establishing a Comprehensive Evaluation System**: To promote research and development in this field, the paper also emphasizes the need for systematic fundamental principle analysis of CP-based FEESDs, including conductive mechanisms, material/structure design principles, and detailed electrochemical/mechanical performance evaluations. In summary, this paper aims to comprehensively review the current application status of conductive polymers in fibrous energy storage devices, explore their future development directions, and propose possible solutions to overcome existing technical bottlenecks.
