Abstract:Given I , B ∈ N ∪ { 0 } , we investigate the existence and geometry of complete finitely branched minimal surfaces M in R 3 with Morse index at most I and total branching order at most B. Previous works of Fischer-Colbrie ("On complete minimal surfaces with finite Morse index in 3-manifolds," Invent. Math., vol. 82, pp. 121–132, 1985) and Ros ("One-sided complete stable minimal surfaces," J. Differ. Geom., vol. 74, pp. 69–92, 2006) explain that such surfaces are precisely the complete minimal surfaces in R 3 of finite total curvature and finite total branching order. Among other things, we derive scale-invariant weak chord-arc type results for such an M with estimates that are given in terms of I and B. In order to obtain some of our main results for these special surfaces, we obtain general intrinsic monotonicity of area formulas for m-dimensional submanifolds Σ of an n-dimensional Riemannian manifold X, where these area estimates depend on the geometry of X and upper bounds on the lengths of the mean curvature vectors of Σ. We also describe a family of complete, finitely branched minimal surfaces in R 3 that are stable and non-orientable; these examples generalize the classical Henneberg minimal surface.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is about the existence and geometric properties of complete branched minimal surfaces with finite index and finite branching order. Specifically, given \(I, B\in\mathbb{N}\cup\{0\}\), the author studies the existence and geometric characteristics of complete finite - branched minimal surfaces in \(\mathbb{R}^3\) with Morse index not exceeding \(I\) and total branching order not exceeding \(B\). ### Specific Problem Description 1. **Existence Problem**: Do complete finite - branched minimal surfaces satisfying the above conditions exist? 2. **Geometric Properties**: What are the geometric characteristics of these surfaces? For example, do they have finite total curvature and finite total branching order? 3. **Estimation Problem**: For these surfaces, can scale - invariant weak chord - arc type results related to \(I\) and \(B\) be obtained? ### Research Background Previous research work (such as Fischer - Colbrie and Ros's research) shows that such surfaces are exactly the complete minimal surfaces in \(\mathbb{R}^3\) with finite total curvature and finite total branching order. Therefore, one of the goals of this paper is to derive scale - invariant weak chord - arc type results for these surfaces and give explicit estimates. ### Main Contributions 1. **New Examples**: The author describes a new class of non - orientable, stable branched minimal surfaces, which generalize the classical Henneberg minimal surface. 2. **Estimation Formulas**: Intrinsic monotonicity area formulas related to \(I\) and \(B\) are obtained, and some scale - invariant weak chord - arc type estimates are obtained by applying these formulas. 3. **Theoretical Extension**: The geometric and topological lower - bound estimates of Chodosh and Maximo for complete unbranched minimal surfaces are extended to the finite - branched case. ### Mathematical Expressions In the paper, the author uses a variety of mathematical tools and techniques, including: - **Jacobi Operator**: Used to define the index of a minimal surface. - **Morse Index**: Represents the stability of a minimal surface. - **Branching Order**: Describes the number and properties of branch points on the surface. - **Scale - invariant Weak Chord - arc Type Results**: Provide estimates of the geometric characteristics of the surface. Through these methods, the author not only proves the existence of new surfaces but also provides detailed geometric estimates, providing an important basis for follow - up research. ### Conclusion The main purpose of this paper is to explore and solve the problems of the existence and geometric properties of complete branched minimal surfaces with finite index and finite branching order, and at the same time provide new examples and estimation formulas, further enriching the theoretical basis in this field.
