Abstract:The consumption of Chinese art stationery is shifting from product consumption to brand consumption. However, the brand publicity of Chinese watercolor paints is weak, so it is necessary to effectively communicate between brands and consumers through the development and design of packaging design. The purpose of the research is to strengthen the Chinese brand of watercolor paints through efficient packaging design, and improve the core competitiveness of Chinese brand watercolor paints in the premium consumer market. This study compares and analyzes the visual elements of packaging design in Chinese and international brands through literature research and empirical analysis, and provides effective recommendations. First of all, Chinese watercolor paint enterprises should utilize concise and clear letter logos to enhance the international visibility of the brand, while employing vibrant and dignified color schemes to capture consumer attention and emphasize the brand, thereby improving the efficiency of packaging design. Second, it is recommended to use product images as illustrations, which reduces consumers' choice anxiety when purchasing goods. Third, adopting a mid-range layout format with ample text information and strong readability can increase the likelihood of consumers quickly selecting their preferred products. The findings of this study can serve as foundational data for researching visual elements in watercolor paint packaging design targeting Chinese consumers. It is of great significance to promote the brand value of Chinese watercolor paints by drawing inspiration from the characteristics of overseas high-end watercolor paint packaging design.

Abstract:The object of the study is the design of tea gift packaging in China. The subject of the study is the problem of developing the design of tea gift packaging in modern Chinese design. During the consideration of the topic, such issues as the degree of study of the issues under consideration, the general situation in the field of developing such a packaging design at the present stage, the dynamics of the development of tea gift packaging design in connection with socio-cultural specifics, the latest approaches of Chinese specialists to determining the design features of tea gift packaging are traced. In addition, the analysis of a number of samples is given, which allow us to illustrate the innovative design solutions of Chinese specialists and identify the main specifics of the Chinese approach to the development of tea gift packaging. The influence of traditional national aesthetics is revealed. The techniques of Chinese designers are considered, thanks to which the design provides a semantic connection between the packaging and the contents, and also helps to display the artistic intent of the author. The study involves the systematization of available information on the theory and history of packaging design, including gift packaging, of tea in China. The work uses traditional methods of art criticism and historiographical analysis, as well as socio-cultural and functional analysis. The scientific novelty of the study is due to the fact that for the first time a complex of issues related to the problem of developing the design of tea gift packaging in modern Chinese design is being studied. Individual samples of modern Chinese tea gift packaging design are being introduced into scientific circulation. The author's main contribution to the research of the topic is to identify the main specifics of the Chinese approach to the development of tea gift packaging, as well as a number of innovations developed by Chinese designers. The main conclusions of the study: the design of gift packaging in modern Chinese design is positioned as the main means of expressing an artistic idea, as a "canvas" on which the designer creates an author's work of art. The artistic idea – not the product itself, but its artistic interpretation – entirely determines the concept, functionality, and design features of the packaging. To implement it, designers often neglect the global trend towards environmental friendliness, as well as reducing the use of excess packaging. The approach of Chinese designers in this sense demonstrates a fundamental difference from foreign practice.

Abstract:Under the development trend of today’s society, any brand attaches great importance to its outer packaging, and the research and analysis of the design effect of outer packaging has always troubled many brands. The purpose of this paper is to conduct a comprehensive study on the integration of artistic visual elements in the design effect of product packaging through the use of pattern recognition technology. Therefore, this paper proposes an improvement to the feature analysis algorithm of image recognition in pattern recognition technology and understands the specific principle of pattern recognition and improves its specific recognition method. At the same time, in the experiment and analysis part, this paper conducts research experiments on the improved algorithm and explores the performance of the algorithm and the adaptability of the algorithm in the actual packaging design recognition process. The experimental results of this paper show that the improved pattern recognition improves the accuracy of text recognition in packaging by 18% and the accuracy of image noise point recognition by nearly 30%. It can be detected very efficiently in the artistic visual fusion process of packaging design.

Abstract:This study endeavors to unravel the intricate relationship between packaging design and consumer behavior in the context of Northeastern cereal agricultural products. Focusing on the vibrant region of Song Yuan, Jilin, China, the study employs a multi-method approach encompassing fieldwork observations, content analysis, and consumer surveys. The investigation unfolds in three key dimensions: evaluating current packaging designs, understanding consumer perspectives, and gauging the acceptance of alternative designs. The findings reveal four distinct models of packaging design, each resonating differently with consumers. Traditional motifs evoke a sense of authenticity, while modern graphics enhance visual appeal and information communication. Consistency with brand identity instills trust, and informative packaging aids in informed purchase decisions. Additionally, the introduction of alternative designs presents an exciting prospect, especially among younger demographics, signifying a potential shift in consumer preferences. This research contributes a nuanced understanding of the pivotal role packaging design plays in shaping consumer choices for Northeastern cereal agricultural products. It provides actionable insights for businesses seeking to align their packaging strategies with consumer preferences, fostering brand loyalty and enhancing market competitiveness. Abstract:Introduction Exchanging or gifting cigarettes is a common practice in Chinese culture, often occurring during weddings to connote celebrations and happiness. We examined Chinese cigarette packs for wedding terminology and imagery to assess the extent to which packs are marketed for such occasions. Methods Cigarette packs were collected from Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Kunming and Chengdu in February 2017 using a systematic protocol designed to capture unique packs. Packs were coded by two independent coders for text and imagery of traditional Chinese wedding symbols, such as double happiness, dragon and phoenix, and other culturally specific phrases and images associated with weddings in China. Results From the sample of 738 unique cigarette packs, 68 (9.2%) contained either lexical and/or imagery appeals for wedding gifting. Of these 68 packs, 65 contained both lexical and imagery appeals, 1 pack had only a lexical appeal and 2 packs only included an imagery appeal. The most common appeal was ‘double happiness’ found on 56 packs (82.4%) for both lexical and imagery, followed by ‘dragon and phoenix’ found lexically on 12 packs (17.6%), and through imagery on 15 packs (22.1%). Conclusions Chinese tobacco manufacturers take full advantage of the cigarette gifting and sharing culture demonstrated by packs with imagery and terminology specific to weddings. With only a 35% text health warning label, manufacturers have much real estate to make packs attractive for gifting on such occasions. Implementing plain packaging policies may be effective in decreasing gifting attractiveness for cigarette packs.

Abstract:As one of the highly representative national handicrafts in the Guangxi Zhuang region, Zhuang brocade is one of the famous brocade styles in China. This study integrates the Zhuang brocade pattern elements into the packaging design of modern women’s products and uses a large number of Zhuang brocade pattern elements. Starting from the pattern, color, theme, and other aspects, the Zhuang brocade pattern elements are incorporated into the graphic composition for the deconstruction of the design. To establish a new approach to the development of national costume culture, this paper suggested exploring its derivatives and redesigning graphic reconstruction methods. By integrating the Zhuang brocade pattern elements with modern women’s product packaging design styles, the connotation value of women’s product design can be enhanced. This also facilitates the preservation of the Zhuang brocade national costume culture and provides new ideas for modern innovative design.

Abstract:As a product of the integration of national etiquette and regional culture, Shanxi wedding clothing in the Qing Dynasty has the functions of social education, folklore and emotional expression. To a certain extent, it reflects the change of dynastic politics and the meaning of the prototype of life. Based on the context of time and the relevant historical materials of the physical map and the local chronicles of Shanxi, the article explores the art and folk meaning of wedding dress in Shanxi in the Qing Dynasty around the thrifty Jinbei area, the Jinzhong region and the profound Jinnan region where Jin merchants gathered. It is believed that Shanxi wedding clothes and related etiquette and customs in the Qing Dynasty have gone through the inheritance of the clothing system, etiquette and customs are still thrifty; the integration of Manchu and Han, marriage customs and luxury; the combination of Chinese and Western styles, and the simplified etiquette system. Through its art form, the changes of the times and folk characteristics can be seen, with the characteristics of "space-time".
