Abstract:Given two arbitrary vector bundles on the Fargues-Fontaine curve, we give an explicit criterion in terms of Harder-Narasimhan polygons on whether they realize a semistable vector bundle as their extensions. Our argument is largely combinatorial and builds upon the dimension analysis of certain moduli spaces of bundle maps developed in [BFH+22].

Abstract:We completely classify all subbundles of a given vector bundle on the Fargues-Fontaine curve. Our classification is given in terms of a simple and explicit condition on Harder-Narasimhan polygons. Our proof is inspired by the proof of the main theorem in [Hon19], but also involves a number of nontrivial adjustments.

Abstract:We completely classify all quotient bundles of a given vector bundle on the Fargues-Fontaine curve. As consequences, we have two additional classification results: a complete classification of all vector bundles that are generated by a fixed number of global sections and a nearly complete classification of subbundles of a given vector bundle. For the proof, we combine the dimension counting argument for moduli of bundle maps developed in [BFH+17] with a series of reduction arguments based on some reinterpretation of the classifying conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, we present two kinds of total Chern forms c(E,G) and C(E,G) as well as a total Segre form s(E,G) of a holomorphic Finsler vector bundle π : (E,G) → M expressed by the Finsler metric G, which answers a question of J. Faran ([10]) to some extent. As some applications, we show that the signed Segre forms (−1)sk(E,G) are positive (k, k)forms on M when G is of positive Kobayashi curvature; we prove, under an extra assumption, that a Finsler-Einstein vector bundle in the sense of Kobayashi is semi-stable; we introduce a new definition of a flat Finsler metric, which is weaker than Aikou’s one ([3]) and prove that a holomorphic vector bundle is Finsler flat in our sense if and only if it is Hermitian flat.
Locally analytic vector bundles on the Fargues-Fontaine curve

Abstract:In this article, we develop a version of Sen theory for equivariant vector bundles on the Fargues-Fontaine curve. We show that every equivariant vector bundle canonically descends to a locally analytic vector bundle. A comparison with the theory of $(\varphi,\Gamma)$-modules in the cyclotomic case then recovers the Cherbonnier-Colmez decompletion theorem. Next, we focus on the subcategory of de Rham locally analytic vector bundles. Using the p-adic monodromy theorem, we show that each locally analytic vector bundle $\mathcal{E}$ has a canonical differential equation for which the space of solutions has full rank. As a consequence, $\mathcal{E}$ and its sheaf of solutions $\mathrm{Sol}(\mathcal{E})$ are in a natural correspondence, which gives a geometric interpretation of a result of Berger on $(\varphi,\Gamma)$-modules. In particular, if $V$ is a de Rham Galois representation, its associated filtered $(\varphi,N,G_{K})$-module is realized as the space of global solutions to the differential equation. A key to our approach is a vanishing result for the higher locally analytic vectors of representations satisfying the Tate-Sen formalism, which is also of independent interest.

Meromorphic vector bundles on the Fargues--Fontaine curve

Abstract:We introduce and study the stack of \textit{meromorphic} $G$-bundles on the Fargues--Fontaine curve. This object defines a correspondence between the Kottwitz stack $\mathfrak{B}(G)$ and $\operatorname{Bun}_G$. We expect it to play a crucial role in comparing the schematic and analytic versions of the geometric local Langlands categories. Our first main result is the identification of the generic Newton strata of ${\operatorname{Bun}}_G^{\operatorname{mer}}$ with the Fargues--Scholze charts $\mathcal{M}$. Our second main result is a generalization of Fargues' theorem in families. We call this the \textit{meromorphic comparison theorem}. It plays a key role in proving that the analytification functor is fully faithful. Along the way, we give new proofs to what we call the \textit{topological and schematic comparison theorems}. These say that the topologies of $\operatorname{Bun}_G$ and $\mathfrak{B}(G)$ are reversed and that the two stacks take the same values when evaluated on schemes.

Abstract:Motivated by the study of the structure of algebraic actions the additive group on affine threefolds X, we consider a special class of such varieties whose algebraic quotient morphisms X $\rightarrow$ X//Ga restrict to principal homogeneous bundles over the complement of a smooth point of the quotient. We establish basic general properties of these varieties and construct families of examples illustrating their rich geometry. In particular, we give a complete classification of a natural subclass consisting of threefolds X endowed with proper Ga-actions, whose algebraic quotient morphisms $\pi$ : X $\rightarrow$ X//Ga are surjective with only isolated degenerate fibers, all isomorphic to the affine plane A 2 when equipped with their reduced structures.

Abstract:For a finite extension $F$ of $\mathbb{Q}_p$ and $n \geq 1$, let $D$ be the division algebra over $F$ of invariant $1/n$ and let $G^0$ be the subgroup of $\text{GL}_n(F)$ of elements with norm $1$ determinant. We show that the action of $D^\times$ on the Drinfeld tower induces an equivalence of categories from finite dimensional smooth representations of $D^\times$ to $G^0$-finite $\text{GL}_n(F)$-equivariant vector bundles with connection on $\Omega$, the $(n-1)$-dimensional Drinfeld symmetric space.

Degree two Gopakumar-Vafa invariants of local curves

Abstract:We investigate the Gopakumar-Vafa (GV) theory of local curves, namely, the total spaces of rank two vector bundles with canonical determinant on smooth projective curves. Under a certain genericity condition on the rank two bundles, we propose a general mechanism to compute the degree two GV invariants of local curves. In particular, we determine all the degree two GV invariants when the base curve has genus two. Combined with previous work by Bryan and Pandharipande, we obtain the GV/GW correspondence in this case. When the base curve has genus greater than two, we calculate GV invariants for some extremal genera, providing evidence for the GV/GW conjecture for curves of higher genus.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct a category of short exact sequences of vector bundles and prove that it is equivalent to the category of double vector bundles. Moreover, operations on double vector bundles can be transferred to operations on the corresponding short exact sequences. In particular, we study the duality theory of double vector bundles in term of the corresponding short exact sequences. Examples including the jet bundle and the Atiyah algebroid are discussed.

Abstract:We show that log flat torsors over a family $X/S$ of nodal curves under a finite flat commutative group scheme $G/S$ are classified by maps from the Cartier dual of $G$ to the log Jacobian of $X$. We deduce that fppf torsors on the smooth fibres of $X/S$ can be extended to global log flat torsors under some regularity hypotheses.

Abstract:On a normal projective variety the locus of $\mu$-stable bundles that remain $\mu$-stable on all Galois covers prime to the characteristic is open in the moduli space of Gieseker semi-stable sheaves. Abstract:We investigate when the filtration induced by Beilinson's spectral sequence splits non-canonically into a direct sum decomposition. We conclude that for any vector bundle $\mathcal{E}$ on a projective space over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$ there exists $r_{0}$ such that for $r\geq r_{0}$ the Frobenius pushforward $\mathsf{F}^{r}_{*}\mathcal{E}$ decomposes as a direct sum of line bundles and exterior powers of the cotangent bundle (we also give a variant for the "toric Frobenius map" valid in any characteristic). As an application we give a short proof of Klyachko's theorem for vanishing of the cohomology of toric vector bundles on projective spaces.
