Abstract:Biomedical nanocomposites, which are an upcoming breed of mischievous materials, have ushered in a new dimension in the healthcare sector. Incorporating these materials tends to boost features this component already possesses and give might to things these components could not withstand alone. The biopolymer, which carries the nanoparticles, can simultaneously improve the composite's stiffness and biological characteristics, and vice versa. This increases the options of the composite and the number of times it can be used. The bio-nanocomposites and nanoparticles enable the ecocompatibility of the medicine in their biodegradability, and they, in this way, have ecological sustainability. The outcome is the improved properties of medicine and its associated positive impact on the environment. They have broad applications in antimicrobial agents, drug carriers, tissue regeneration, wound care, dentistry, bioimaging, and bone filler, among others. The dissertation on the elements of bio-nanocomposites emphasizes production techniques, their diverse applications in medicine, match-up issues, and future-boasting prospects in the bio-nanocomposites field. Abstract:Chitin and chitosan are the most widely used biodegradable and biocompatible materials subsequent to cellulose. Nowadays a wide range of materials, including those classified as organic, inorganic, and biological are used in the synthesis, fabrication, and processing of nanostructures with unique physical properties. The properties of the polymer significantly improve by dispersing a few percentage of nanoparticle in the polymer matrix. In this context, we are focusing on the preparation, characterization, and bioactivity of chitin and chitosan nanocomposite in detail. The morphological changes occur in presence of nanoparticle. The improvement of thermal and mechanical properties including dynamic mechanical behavior of chitin and chitosan in presence of different nanofillers has been discussed in detail with suitable example as potential material for bone and wound tissue engineering applications. We summarize the physicochemical and drug delivery properties of chitin and chitosan composites. The cytocompatibility of the nanocomposites is assessed with improved cell attachment and proliferation using different human cells. This chapter enhances the understanding of biological uses of chitin and chitosan with their improved properties in presence of nanoparticles. A new approach at the intersection of biology and nanotechnology is focused to develop the next promising eco-friendly biopolymer nanocomposites.

Abstract:Nanocomposite materials are emerging as key players in addressing critical challenges in healthcare, energy storage, and environmental remediation. These innovative systems hold great promise in engineering effective solutions for complex problems. Nanocomposites have demonstrated various advantages such as simplicity, versatility, lightweight, and potential cost‐effectiveness. By reinforcing synthetic and natural polymers with nanomaterials, a range of nanocomposites have exhibited unique physicochemical properties, biocompatibility, and biodegradability. Current research on nanocomposites has demonstrated promising clinical and translational applications. Over the past decade, the production of nanocomposites has emerged as a critical nano‐structuring methodology due to their adaptability and controllable surface structure. This comprehensive review article systematically addresses two principal domains. A comprehensive survey of metallic and nonmetallic nanomaterials (nanofillers), elucidating their efficacy as reinforcing agents in polymeric matrices. Emphasis is placed on the methodical design and engineering principles governing the development of functional nanocomposites. Additionally, the review provides an exhaustive examination of recent noteworthy advancements in industrial, environmental, biomedical, and clinical applications within the realms of nanocomposite materials. Finally, the review concludes by highlighting the ongoing challenges facing nanocomposites in a wide range of applications.

Abstract:Smart electronic materials 'nanographene' stated, its significant authentication has undergone massive improvements and has emerged as a 'material of the century' in materialize fields of 'Chemical Biology' and 'Materials Chemistry'. 'Graphene' as a wonder material has been proposed to possess a high surface area (∼2600 m2 g−1), high portability of charge carriers and excellent mechanical qualities. Moreover, the long-extend π-conjugation of graphene is an essential photocatalytic property enabling wide ranging biosensor activities. Herein, critical review article reflects well known yet a brand-new novel material 'nanographene' and its versatile integrations, utilized for substantial enrichment of desired properties. Mechanical Properties of Bioinspired Bicontinuous Nanocomposites

Abstract:Inspired by the wonderful properties of some biological composites in nature, we performed molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the mechanical behavior of bicontinuous nanocomposites. Three representative types of bicontinuous composites, which have regular network, random network, and nacre inspired microstructures respectively, were studied and the results were compared with those of a honeycomb nanocomposite with only one continuous phase. It was found that the mechanical strength of nanocomposites in a given direction strongly depends on the connectivity of microstructure in that direction. Directional isotropy in mechanical strength and easy manufacturability favor the random network nanocomposites as a potentially great bioinspired composite with balanced performances. In addition, the tensile strength of random network nanocomposites is less sensitive to the interfacial failure, owing to its super high interface-to-volume ratio and random distribution of internal interfaces. The results provide a useful guideline for design and optimization of advanced nanocomposites with superior mechanical properties.

Abstract:In recent decades, there has been considerable interest in combining nanotechnology with other fields of study, particularly for creating biocompatible nanocomposites. These nanocomposites have the potential for various applications in biomedical science, biosensors, bio-chip design, drug delivery, and gene delivery, among others. These materials possess ecological friendliness, biodegradability, and biocompatibility, while also being purposefully designed to fulfill particular requirements. This endeavor led to the development of a novel category of biocompatible nanocomposites. These nanocomposites are created by combining suitable nanoparticles with materials that are both biocompatible and biodegradable to enhance specific physical, thermal, and other characteristics. The resulting biocompatible nanomaterials can be used as substitutes for natural substances in their ability to perform tasks or interact with biological systems. This study is to provide a comprehensive examination of the progress made in the development of biocompatible nanocomposites. This discussion focuses on the introduction of various types of nanocomposites, the synthesis fundamentals, the highlighting of their diverse characteristics, fundamental properties, and notable applications in biomedicine, electronics, energy storage, the environment, and packaging. The discussion examines several synthetic pathways, manufacturing methods, and approaches that serve as the foundation for producing biocompatible polymers and their associated nanocomposites. A comprehensive understanding of these materials is crucial for harnessing their inherent qualities in many sectors, fostering a more sustainable, environmentally friendly, and technologically advanced future.

Abstract:Biological nanocomposites, such as bone, tooth, shell, and wood, exhibit exceptional mechanical properties. Much recent effort has been directed at exploring the basic mechanical principles behind the microstructures of these natural materials to provide guidelines for the development of novel man-made nanocomposites. This article reviews some of the recent studies on mechanical properties of biological nanocomposites, including their stiffness, strength, toughness, interface properties, and elastic stability. The discussion is focused on the mechanical principles of biological nanocomposites, including the generic nanostructure of hard-mineral crystals embedded in a soft protein matrix, the flaw-tolerant design of the hard phase, the role of the soft matrix, the hybrid interface between protein and mineral, and the structural hierarchy. The review concludes with sonic discussion of and outlook on the development of biomimicking synthetic materials guided by the principles found in biological nanocomposites.

Abstract:Bionanocomposites are materials composed of particles with at least one dimension in the range of 1–100 nm and a constituent of biological origin or biopolymers. They are the subject of current research interest as they provide exciting platforms and act as an interface between materials science, biology, and nanotechnology and find applications in disciplines such as electrochemistry, biomedicine, biosorption, aerospace, tissue engineering and packaging. They have different properties such as high conductivity, thermal stability, electrocatalytic ability, biocompatibility, adsorption ability and biodegradability, which can be tuned by their preparation methods, functionalities and applications. However, depending on the objective or the goal of a research project, specific preparation and characterization of bionanocomposites can be undertaken to understand the behavior and confirm the applicability of a bionanocomposite in a given field. Like in electroanalysis applications, electrode materials should be porous (meso- and macro-porosities), having large specific area (at least having a Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface of 200 m 2 g −1 ), higher stability over time with acceptable power recovery between 95% and 105%, good electrocatalytic ability, and be a good absorbent and a good conductor of electricity (that is to say, it facilitates the transfer of electrons from the solution to the surface of the electrode and vice versa ). The present review focuses on the most used method of preparation of bionanocomposites with the critical aspect and their physicochemical and electrochemical characterization techniques, and finally, the practical situations of application of bionanocomposite materials as modified electrodes for electroanalysis of several groups of analytes and a comparison with non-bionanocomposite electrodes are discussed. The future scope of bionanocomposites in the field of electroanalysis is also addressed in this review. But before that, a general overview of bionanocomposite materials in relation to other types of materials is presented to avoid any misunderstanding.
