Abstract:In this paper,we find all generalized Fibonacci numbers which are Narayana's cows numbers. In our proofs, we use both Baker's theory of nonzero linear forms in logarithms of algebraic numbers and the Baker-Davenport reduction method.

Abstract:Narayana's cows problem is a problem similar to the Fibonacci's rabbit problem. We define the numbers which are the solutions of this problem as Narayana's cows numbers. Narayana's cows sequence satisfies the third order recurrence relation $N_{r}=N_{r-1}+N_{r-3}$ ($r\geq3$) with initial condition $N_{0} =0$, $N_{1} = N_{2}= 1$. In this paper, the $ar+b$ subscripted Narayana numbers will be expressed by three $a$ step apart Narayana numbers for any $1\leq b\leq a$ ($a\in \mathbb{Z}$). Furthermore, we study the sum $S_{N,r}^{(4,b)}=\sum_{k=0}^{r}N_{4k+b}$ of $4$ step apart Narayana numbers for any $1\leq b\leq 4$.

Abstract:In this paper, we determine all the Narayana's cows numbers that are factorials or double factorials. We also show that 88 is the only repdigit (i.e., a class of numbers that has reflectional symmetry across a vertical axis) that can be written as the product of consecutive Narayana's cows numbers.

Abstract:For an integer $k \geq 2$, let $\{ P_{n}^{(k)} \}_{n}$ be the $k$-generalized Pell sequence which starts with $0, \dots,0,1$($k$ terms) and each term afterwards is the sum of $k$ preceding terms. In this paper, we find all the solutions of the Diophantine equation $P_{n}^{(k)} = N_{m}$ in non-negative integers $(n, k, m)$ with $k \geq 2$, where $\{ N_{m} \}_m$ is the Narayana's cows sequence. Our approach utilizes the lower bounds for linear forms in logarithms of algebraic numbers established by Matveev, along with key insights from the theory of continued fractions.

Abstract:Narayana's sequence is a ternary recurrent sequence defined by the recurrence relation $\mathcal{N}_n=\mathcal{N}_{n-1}+\mathcal{N}_{n-3}$ with initial terms $\mathcal{N}_0=0$ and $\mathcal{N}_1=\mathcal{N}_2=\mathcal{N}_3=1$. Let $\rho\geqslant2$ be a positive integer. In this study, it is proved that the $n$th Narayana's number $ \mathcal{N}_n$ which is concatenations of three repdigits in base $\rho$ satisfies $n<5.6\cdot 10^{48}\cdot \log^7\rho$. Moreover, it is shown that the largest Narayana's number which is concatenations of three repdigits in base $\rho$ with $1 \leqslant \rho \leqslant 10$ is $58425=\mathcal{N}_{31}=\overline{3332200}_5=\overline{332223}_7.$

Abstract:We present new expressions for the $k$-generalized Fibonacci numbers, say $F_k(n)$. They satisfy the recurrence $F_k(n) = F_k(n-1) +\dots+F_k(n-k)$. Explicit expressions for the roots of the auxiliary (or characteristic) polynomial are presented, using Fuss-Catalan numbers. Properties of the roots are enumerated. We quantify the accuracy of asymptotic approximations for $F_k(n)$ for $n\gg1$. Our results subsume and extend some results published by previous authors. We also comment on the use of multinomial sums for the $k$-generalized Fibonacci numbers and related sequences. We also employ the generating function to express $F_k(n)$ as a concise (non-nested) sum of binomial coefficients for arbitrary $k$. Finally, we present a basis (or `fundamental solutions') to solve the above recurrence for arbitrary initial conditions.

Abstract:A generalization of the well--known Fibonacci sequence is the $k$--Fibonacci sequence with some fixed integer $k\ge 2$. The first $k$ terms of this sequence are $0,\ldots,0,1$, and each term afterwards is the sum of the preceding $k$ terms. In this paper, we find all $k$--Fibonacci numbers that are concatenations of two repdigits. This generalizes prior results which dealt with the above problem for the particular cases of Fibonacci and Tribonacci numbers.

Abstract:Let $ k \geq 2 $ be an integer. The $ k- $generalized Fibonacci sequence is a sequence defined by the recurrence relation $ F_{n}^{(k)}=F_{n-1}^{(k)} + \cdots + F_{n-k}^{(k)}$ for all $ n \geq 2$ with the initial values $ F_{i}^{(k)}=0 $ for $ i=2-k, \ldots, 0 $ and $ F_{1}^{(k)}=1.$ In 2020, Banks and Luca, among other things, determined all Fibonacci numbers which are concatenations of two Fibonacci numbers. In this paper, we consider the analogue of this problem by taking into account $ k-$generalized Fibonacci numbers as concatenations of two terms of the same sequence. We completely solve this problem for all $ k \geq 3.

Abstract:Let be Narayana's cows sequence given by a recurrence relation for all , with initial conditions , and . In this paper, we find all members in Narayana's cows sequence that are palindromic concatenations of two distinct repdigits. Our proofs use techniques on Diophantine approximation which include the theory of linear forms in logarithms of algebraic numbers and Baker's reduction method. We show that 595 is the only member in Narayana's cow sequence that is a palindromic concatenation of two distinct repdigits in base 10.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the diophantine equation σ_2(n)-n^2=An+B. We prove that except for finitely many computable solutions, all the solutions to this equation with (A,B)=(L_2m,F_2m^2-1) are n=F_2k+1F_2k+2m+1, where both F_2k+1 and F_2k+2m+1 are Fibonacci primes. Meanwhile, we show that the twin primes conjecture holds if and only if the equation σ_2(n)-n^2=2n+5 has infinitely many solutions.

Abstract:In this study, we present a generalized higher-order delta operator with the co-efficient of falling factorial and its inverse, both of which allow us to get more generalized k(ε)-Fibonacci sequences along with their sums, a few theorems, and some intriguing conclusions regarding the sum of more generalized terms of k(ε)-Fibonacci sequences with falling factorial. In addition, the n-fold Fibonacci ratio and a few applications in life sciences and crystal growth were presented in the work. In addition, suitable examples are presented using MATLAB to show our results.

Abstract:In this paper, we present a new generalization of the Lucas numbers by matrix representation using Genaralized Lucas Polynomials. We give some properties of this new generalization and some relations between the generalized order-k Lucas numbers and generalized order-k Fibonacci numbers. In addition, we obtain Binet formula and combinatorial representation for generalized order-k Lucas numbers by using properties of generalized Fibonacci numbers.

Abstract:We have studied several generalizations of Fibonacci sequences as the sequences with arbitrary initial values, the addition of two and more Fibonacci subsequences and Fibonacci polynomials with arbitrary bases. For Fibonacci numbers with congruent indices we derived general formula in terms of generalized Fibonacci polynomials and Lucas numbers. By extending Binet formula to arbitrary real numbers we constructed Binet-Fibonacci curve in complex plane. For positive numbers the curve is oscillating with exponentially vanishing amplitude, while for negative numbers it becomes Binet Fibonacci spiral. Comparison with the nautilus curve shows quite similar behavior. Areas under the curve and curvature characteristics are calculated, as well as the asymptotic of relative characteristics. Asymptotically for n going to infinity the region become, infinitely wide with infinitesimally small height so that the area has finite value $A_{\infty}=\frac{2}{5 \pi} ln(\varphi)$.

Abstract:In this paper, we examine the Diophantine problem given by the equation $F_n = F_l^k (F_l^m - 1)$, where $n, l, m \geq 1$ and $k \geq 3$. Here, $\{ F_t \}_{t=0}^{\infty} $ denotes the Fibonacci numbers, defined by the recurrence relation $F_0 = 0$, $F_1 = 1$, and $F_t = F_{t-1} + F_{t-2}$ for $t \geq 2$. By applying Matveev's theorem, which provides lower bounds for linear forms in logarithms of algebraic numbers, along with a modified Baker-Davenport reduction method and a divisibility property of Fibonacci numbers, we show that $(n, l, k, m) = (6, 3, 3, 1)$ is the only positive integer quadruple that satisfies this equation.

Abstract:Let be the sequence of Fibonacci numbers and, for each positive integer k , let be the set of primes p such that . We prove that the relative density of exists, and we give a formula for in terms of an absolutely convergent series. Furthermore, we give an effective criterion to establish if a given k satisfies , and we provide upper and lower bounds for the counting function of the set of such k 's. As an application of our results, we give a new proof of a lower bound for the counting function of the set of integers of the form , for some positive integer n . Our proof is more elementary than the previous one given by Leonetti and Sanna, which relies on a result of Cubre and Rouse.
