Abstract:bstract . Each choice of a Kähler class on a compact complex manifold defines an action of the Lie algebra sl (2) on its total complex cohomology. If a nonempty set of such Kähler classes is given, then we prove that the corresponding sl (2)-copies generate a semisimple Lie algebra. We investigate the formal properties of the resulting representation and we work things out explicitly in the case of complex tori, hyperkähler manifolds and flag varieties. We pay special attention to the cases where this leads to a Jordan algebra structure or a graded Frobenius algebra.

Abstract:Using cocycle twists for associative graded algebras, we characterize finite dimensional nilpotent Lie color algebras $L$ graded by arbitrary abelian groups whose enveloping algebras $U(L)$ have the property that the injective hulls of simple right $U(L)$-modules are locally Artinian. We also collect together results on gradings on Lie algebras arising from this characterization.

Abstract:We study Lie-Rinehart algebra structures in the framework provided by a duality pairing of modules over a unital commutative associative algebra. Thus, we construct examples of Lie brackets corresponding to a fixed anchor map whose image is a cyclic submodule of the derivation module, and therefore we call them cyclic Lie-Rinehart algebras. In a very special case of our construction, these brackets turn out to be related to certain differential operators that occur in mathematical physics.

Abstract:An involutive Lie bialgebra induces a Batalin-Vilkovisky operator on its exterior algebra. We introduce a graded generalization of the necklace Lie bialgebra, which depends on a choice of a quiver $Q$. We relate the resulting Batalin-Vilkovisky structure to the Batalin-Vilkovisky structure coming from a degree $-1$ symplectic form on a suitably defined representation variety of the quiver $Q$. The morphism intertwining these Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras will be given by a twisted trace, recovering the usual (super)trace and the odd trace.

Abstract:As a sequel to [Duan-Shu-Yao], we introduce here a category $\mathscr{LC}$ arising from the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ defined in [Duan-Shu-Yao] for Lie algebras of polynomial vector fields. The objects of $\mathscr{LC}$ are so-called Lie-Cartan modules which admit both Lie-module structure and compatible $R$-module structure ($R$ denotes the corresponding polynomial ring). This terminology is natural, coming from affine connections in differential geometry through which the structure sheaves in topology and the vector fields in geometry are integrated for differential manifolds.

Abstract:A nonzero element $x$ in a Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ with Lie product $[ , ]$ is called extremal if $[x,[x,y]]$ is a multiple of $x$ for all $y$. In this paper we characterize the (finitary) symplectic Lie algebras as simple Lie algebras generated by their extremal elements satisying the condition that any two noncommuting extremal elements $x,y$ generate an $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ and any third extremal element $z$ commutes with at least one extremal element in this $\mathfrak{sl}_2$.

Cyclic wide subalgebras of semisimple Lie algebras

Abstract:Let $\mathfrak{s}$ $\ltimes$ $\mathfrak{r}$ be a Levi decomposable Lie algebra, with Levi factor $\mathfrak{s}$, and radical $\mathfrak{r}$. A module $V$ of $\mathfrak{s}$ $\ltimes$ $\mathfrak{r}$ is cyclic indecomposable if it is indecomposable and the quotient module $V /\mathfrak{r}\cdot V$ is a simple $\mathfrak{s}$-module. A Levi decomposable subalgebra of a semisimple Lie algebra is cyclic wide if the restriction of every simple module of the semisimple Lie algebra to the subalgebra is cyclic indecomposable. We establish a condition for a regular Levi decomposable subalgebra of a semisimple Lie algebra to be cyclic wide. Then, in the case of a regular Levi decomposable subalgebra whose radical is an ad-nilpotent subalgebra, we show that the condition is necessary and sufficient for the subalgebra to be cyclic wide. All Lie algebras, and modules in this article are finite-dimensional, and over the complex numbers.

Abstract:We provide an explicit combinatorial realization of all simple and injective (hence, and projective) modules in the category of bounded $\mathfrak{sp}(2n)$-modules. This realization is defined via a natural tableaux correspondence between spinor-type modules of $\mathfrak{so}(2n)$ and oscillator-type modules of $\mathfrak{sp}(2n)$. In particular, we show that, in contrast with the $A$-type case, the generic and bounded $\mathfrak{sp}(2n)$-modules admit an analog of the Gelfand-Graev continuation from finite-dimensional representations.

Coinvariants of metaplectic representations on moduli of abelian varieties

Abstract:We construct spaces of coinvariants at principally polarized abelian varieties with respect to the action of an infinite-dimensional Lie algebra. We show how these spaces globalize to twisted $\mathcal{D}$-modules on moduli of principally polarized abelian varieties, and we determine the Atiyah algebra of a line bundle acting on them. We prove analogous results on the universal abelian variety. An essential aspect of our arguments involves analyzing the Atiyah algebra of the Hodge and canonical line bundles on moduli of abelian varieties and the universal abelian variety.

Abstract:We construct a generalised notion of Kac-Moody algebras using smooth maps from the non-compact manifolds ${\cal M}=$SL$(2,\mathbb R)$ and ${\cal M}=$ SL$(2,\mathbb R)/U(1)$ to a finite-dimensional simple Lie group $G$. This construction is achieved through two equivalent ways: by means of the Plancherel Theorem and by identifying a Hilbert basis within $L^2(\mathcal{M})$. We analyse the existence of central extensions and identify those in duality with Hermitean operators on $\cal M$. By inspecting the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients of $\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathbb{R})$, we derive the Lie brackets characterising the corresponding generalised Kac-Moody algebras. The root structure of these algebras is identified, and it is shown that an infinite number of simultaneously commuting operators can be defined. Furthermore, we briefly touch upon applications of these algebras within the realm of supergravity, particularly in scenarios where the scalar fields coordinatize the non-compact manifold $\text{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})/U(1)$.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce and study five families of Lie groups in degenerate Clifford geometric algebras. These Lie groups preserve the even and odd subspaces and some other subspaces under the adjoint representation and the twisted adjoint representation. The considered Lie groups contain degenerate spin groups, Lipschitz groups, and Clifford groups as subgroups in the case of arbitrary dimension and signature. The considered Lie groups can be of interest for various applications in physics, engineering, and computer science.

Hikita conjecture for classical Lie algebras

Abstract:Let $G$ be $Sp_{2n}$, $SO_{2n}$ or $SO_{2n+1}$ and let $G^\vee$ be its Langlands dual group. Barbasch and Vogan based on earlier work of Lusztig and Spaltenstein, define a duality map $D$ that sends nilpotent orbits $\mathbb{O}_{e^\vee} \subset \mathfrak{g}^\vee$ to special nilpotent orbits $\mathbb{O}_e\subset \mathfrak{g}$. In a work by Losev, Mason-Brown and Matvieievskyi, an upgraded version $\tilde{D}$ of this duality is considered, called the refined BVLS duality. $\tilde{D}(\mathbb{O}_{e^\vee})$ is a $G$-equivariant cover $\tilde{\mathbb{O}}_e$ of $\mathbb{O}_e$. Let $S_{e^\vee}$ be the nilpotent Slodowy slice of the orbit $\mathbb{O}_{e^\vee}$. The two varieties $X^\vee= S_{e^\vee}$ and $X=$ Spec$(\mathbb{C}[\tilde{\mathbb{O}}_e])$ are expected to be symplectic dual to each other. In this context, a version of the Hikita conjecture predicts an isomorphism between the cohomology ring of the Springer fiber $\mathcal{B}_{e^\vee}$ and the ring of regular functions on the scheme-theoretic fixed point $X^T$ for some torus $T$. This paper verifies the isomorphism for certain pairs $e$ and $e^\vee$. These cases are expected to cover almost all instances in which the Hikita conjecture holds when $e^\vee$ regular in a Levi $\mathfrak{l}^\vee\subset \mathfrak{g}^\vee$. Our results in these cases follow from the relations of three different types of objects: generalized coinvariant algebras, equivariant cohomology rings, and functions on scheme-theoretic intersections. We also give evidence for the Hikita conjecture when $e^\vee$ is distinguished.

Lie Admissible Triple Algebras: The Connection Algebra of Symmetric Spaces

Abstract:Associated to a symmetric space there is a canonical connection with zero torsion and parallel curvature. This connection acts as a binary operator on the vector space of smooth sections of the tangent bundle, and it is linear with respect to the real numbers. Thus the smooth section of the tangent bundle together with the connection form an algebra we call the connection algebra. The constraints of zero torsion and constant curvature makes the connection algebra into a Lie admissible triple algebra. This is a type of algebra that generalises pre-Lie algebras, and it can be embedded into a post-Lie algebra in a canonical way that generalises the canonical embedding of Lie triple systems into Lie algebras. The free Lie admissible triple algebra can be described by incorporating triple-brackets into the leaves of rooted (non-planar) trees.

Abstract:BACKGROUND Although current rotavirus vaccines were not associated with an increased risk of intussusception in large trials before licensure, recent postlicensure data from international settings suggest the possibility of a small increase in risk of intussusception after monovalent rotavirus vaccination. We examined this risk in a population in the United States. METHODS Participants were infants between the ages of 4 and 34 weeks who were enrolled in six integrated health care organizations in the Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) project. We reviewed medical records and visits for intussusception within 7 days after monovalent rotavirus vaccination from April 2008 through March 2013. Using sequential analyses, we then compared the risk of intussusception among children receiving monovalent rotavirus vaccine with historical background rates. We further compared the risk after monovalent rotavirus vaccination with the risk in a concurrent cohort of infants who received the pentavalent rotavirus vaccine. RESULTS During the study period, 207,955 doses of monovalent rotavirus vaccine (including 115,908 first doses and 92,047 second doses) were administered in the VSD population. We identified 6 cases of intussusception within 7 days after the administration of either dose of vaccine. For the two doses combined, the expected number of intussusception cases was 0.72, resulting in a significant relative risk of 8.4. For the pentavalent rotavirus vaccine, 1,301,810 doses were administered during the study period, with 8 observed intussusception cases (7.11 expected), for a nonsignificant relative risk of 1.1. The relative risk of chart-confirmed intussusception within 7 days after monovalent rotavirus vaccination, as compared with the risk after pentavalent rotavirus vaccination, was 9.4 (95% confidence interval, 1.4 to 103.8). The attributable risk of intussusception after the administration of two doses of monovalent rotavirus vaccine was estimated to be 5.3 per 100,000 infants vaccinated. CONCLUSIONS In this prospective postlicensure study of more than 200,000 doses of monovalent rotavirus vaccine, we observed a significant increase in the rate of intussusception after vaccination, a risk that must be weighed against the benefits of preventing rotavirus-associated illness. Abstract:We explore the natural analogues of the Brylinksi condition, Strong Lefschetz condition, and $d\delta$-lemma in Symplectic Geometry originally explored by Brylinksi, Mathieu, Yan, and Guillemin in the Symplectic Lie Algebroid case. The equivalence of the three conditions is re-established as a purely algebraic statement along with a primitive notion of the $d\delta$-lemma established by Tseng, Yau, and Ho. We then apply this algebraic theory to the desired geometric setting to show that these analogues hold, and finally provide a few classes of examples.

Abstract:Let $(G,\Omega)$ be a symplectic Lie group, i.e, a Lie group endowed with a left invariant symplectic form. If $\G$ is the Lie algebra of $G$ then we call $(\G,\omega=\Om(e))$ a symplectic Lie algebra. The product $\bullet$ on $\G$ defined by $3\omega\left(x\bullet y,z\right)=\omega\left([x,y],z\right)+\omega\left([x,z],y\right)$ extends to a left invariant connection $\na$ on $G$ which is torsion free and symplectic ($\na\Om=0)$. When $\na$ has vanishing curvature, we call $(G,\Omega)$ a flat symplectic Lie group and $(\G,\om)$ a flat symplectic Lie algebra. In this paper, we study flat symplectic Lie groups. We start by showing that the derived ideal of a flat symplectic Lie algebra is degenerate with respect to $\om$. We show that a flat symplectic Lie group must be nilpotent with degenerate center. This implies that the connection $\na$ of a flat symplectic Lie group is always complete. We prove that the double extension process can be applied to characterize all flat symplectic Lie algebras. More precisely, we show that every flat symplectic Lie algebra is obtained by a sequence of double extension of flat symplectic Lie algebras starting from $\{0\}$. As examples in low dimensions, we classify all flat symplectic Lie algebras of dimension $\leq6$.

Abstract:The Killing operator on a Riemannian manifold is a linear differential operator on vector fields whose kernel provides the infinitesimal Riemannian symmetries. The Killing operator is best understood in terms of its prolongation, which entails some simple tensor identities. These simple identities can be viewed as arising from the identification of certain Lie algebra cohomologies. The point is that this case provides a model for more complicated operators similarly concerned with symmetry.

Abstract:Natural graded Lie brackets on the space of cochains of n-Leibniz and n-Lie algebras are introduced. It turns out that these brackets agree under the natural embedding introduced by Gautheron. Moreover, n-Leibniz and n-Lie algebras turn to be canonical structures for these brackets in a similar way in which associative algebras (respectively, Lie algebras) are canonical structures for the Gerstenhaber bracket (respectively, Nijenhuis-Richardson bracket). This allows to define the corresponding cohomology operators and graded Lie algebra structures on the cohomology spaces in an uniform simple way by means of square zero elements.
