Abstract:According to the present situation of energy shortage and low level of straw resource utilization in China,researches and applications of straw power generation technology are introduced.The technical principle,the technical process and the industrial application of these three kinds of power generation technology,including straw directly burning,straw-coal cofirming and straw gasification,are elaborated.According to the applications,the questions which are existing in these three aspects of straw collection,the technical improvement and policies are analyzed.In view of these questions,proposals are also put forward.Finally,it is pointed out that the technology and industry of straw power generation in China will enter a fast developing time.

Abstract:Utilization of the biomass straw is introduced.Current domestic and foreign research & the application situation of the biomass straw generation technology is mainly discussed.By the analysis and comparison of three kinds of technology,ie the biomass straw boiler directly-burning power generation,the biomass straw-coal hybrid burning power generation and biomass straw gasification power generation,it can be concluded that the biomass straw power generation will be China's development direction in effective utilization of biomass energy.

Abstract:Biomass energy is abundant on earth, inexhaustible renewable energy only. Development and utilization of biomass energy is one important way to solve the world's energy and environmental issues. Development of biomass energy application technology has become a world focus. In this paper, we summarized the development and utilization technologies of biomass energy, reviewed the status of biomass energy utilization at home and abroad, analyzed the situation facing and problems existing in utilization of biomass energy development at home and proposed development strategies of biomass energy. In order to ensure China's energy "independence" and "security", we must develop practical biomass energy development strategies consistent with China's national conditions; promote vigorously the development and utilization of biomass energy technology industrialized and effort to improve our level.

Abstract:<p>Straw as an agricultural byproduct has been recognized as a potential resource. However, open-field straw burning is still the main mean in many regions of the world, which causes the wasting of resource and air pollution. Recently, many technologies have been developed for energy and resource recovery from straw, of which the biological approach has attracted growing interests because of its economically viable and eco-friendly nature. However, pretreatment of straw prior to biological processes is essential, and largely determines the process feasibility, economic viability and environmental sustainability. Thus, this review attempts to offer a critical and holistic analysis of current straw pretreatment technologies and management practices. Specifically, an integrated biological process coupled with microbial degradation and enzymatic hydrolysis was proposed, and its potential benefits, limitations and challenges associated with future large-scale straw treatment were also elaborated, together with the perspectives and directions forward.</p>

Abstract:In the rapid economic development today, the sources of energy and environmental issues have become increasingly prominent. At present, out country adopted a series of measures to improve the resources supply capacity, include to vigorously develop renewable energy. With the development and utilization of biomass energy has been paid close attention. This paper establishes three comprehensive evaluation models on biomass energy utilization’s potential applications in the region, using the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, hierarchical weight analysis and factor analysis by means of MATLAB, SAS software. According these models we analyze biomass energy utilization’s development prospect and geographical distribution and expound several suggestions on adjustment of biomass energy utilization status in China.

Abstract:A review was conducted on models of production, strengths, existing problems and development trend in using wetland plants for energy production. The plants grown in constructed wetland are advantageous due to no need for extra fertilization, high biomass production, and high species diversity, they can be used as one of the suitable raw material resources for biomass briquette fuel, biogas and bioethanol production. Models of using plant biomass for bioenergy production will be developed to achieve the harmonization among energy need, wastewater treatment and environmental protection.

Abstract:With the increasingly serious problems of energy shortage and environmental degradation, countries around the world are actively developing safe, environmentally friendly, and renewable energy. Biomass energy has become an ideal substitute for fossil fuels due to its abundant reserves, good renewable performance, and zero carbon emissions. This paper discusses the importance and potential of biomass energy as a renewable energy source for China's energy development, mainly including the three biomass conversion methods of physics, chemistry, and biology, seven utilization technologies, such as direct combustion, gasification, and pyrolysis, and five application approaches, such as biomass power generation, biomass gas fuel, biomass liquid fuel, and bio-based materials. This review systematically analyzes the challenges faced by China's development of biomass energy and discusses the future development direction of biomass. The utilization of biomass resources should take a comprehensive and high-value path. China is actively looking for new energy utilization paths, and biomass energy has become a key measure to cope with carbon emission reduction, climate change, and ecological environment protection.

Abstract:As a large agricultural country, China ranks first in the world of the output of crop residues. However, due to the decreasing requirement of rural living energy usage for straw, the surplus of straw is extremely severely in rural area. Recently, the central government encouraged greatly the straw utilization, and the large-scale straw utilization is the main content of the rural energy now. As for three modes of large-scale straw utilization in rural energy fields such as: straw gasification, straw biogas and straw molding fuel (solidification/carbonization), these modes are planned to be compared, analyzed and evaluated in this paper to capably provide selection reference for large-scale utilization of straw and boost the development of straw resource utilization in rural China.

Abstract:With the ever-increasing energy demands, fossil fuels are gradually depleting and eventually, these nonrenewable sources of energy will be exhausted. Hence, there is an urgent need to formulate alternative fuels that are both renewable and sustainable. Biomass is one of the reliable sources of energy because it is replenishable. Rice is the staple food in many countries, particularly in Asia. The number of paddy fields has increased tremendously over the years and is expected to increase in the future in response to the growing world population. This will lead to significant amounts of agricultural wastes annually, particularly rice straw. In some countries, open burning and soil incorporation are used to manage agricultural wastes. Open burning is the preferred method because it is inexpensive. However, this method is highly undesirable because of its detrimental impact on the environment resulting from the release of carbon dioxide and methane gas. Hence, it is important to develop an energy-harvesting method from rice straw for power generation. More studies need to be carried out on the availability and characteristics of rice straw as well as logistic analysis to assess the potential of rice straw for power generation. This paper is focused on reviewing studies pertaining to the characteristics and potential of rice straw for power generation, current rice straw management practices, and logistic analysis in order to develop a suitable energy-harvesting method from rice straw in Malaysia.

Abstract:As a renewable lignocellulosic biomass resource, corn straw has great potential for waste utilization in agriculture and sustainable development. In recent years, considerable attention has been given to the research on repurposing organic acids, saccharides, and other active substances extracted from corn straw. This review is focused on the progress in the preparative techniques and product development of organic acids and saccharides, realizing the high-value utilization of corn straw. This review also discusses the potential applications of corn straw in the food and biopharmaceutical industries, and sheds light on the current challenges and future directions in the efficient utilization of straw resources.
