Abstract:The consciousness of female subject of Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice is disclosed through the relationship of the characters. From the analysis of her relationship with the male characters Darcy and Wickham, it is shown that her consciousness of female subject evolves from knowing others to knowing oneself. Her conscious-ness of female subject, however, through her relationship with some other female characters, evolves from knowing oneself to criticizing society. Such consciousness of female subject not only has literary significance but also realistic social significance.

Abstract:Pride and Prejudice, as a classic masterpiece about love and marriage, has been widely discussed, and the marriage of Elizabeth and Darcy is widely praised. The psychological and behavioral changes of the female protagonist in the text touch people’s hearts and drive the continuous progress of their relationship. This article applies the concept of personal space in environmental psychology and its following effects to analyze the reasons for Elizabeth’s psychological and behavioral changes. This opens up new analytical perspectives, establishing the connection between Elizabeth’s personal spatial changes and her psychology and behavior. Her first impression of Darcy causes a large personal space. The reaction to repeated violations of her personal space becomes stronger. And then, when Darcy is proved innocent, causing a dramatic change in her personal space, ultimately resulting in a positive outcome. It reveals the specific content of equality, mutual respect, independence, sincere communication, and adherence to principles based on love in Elizabeth’s views on marriage and love. This article also analyzed the connection between the author Jane Austen herself and the influence of 18th-century British social factors and provides inspiration for contemporary views on marriage and love.

Abstract:Pride and Prejudice, a masterpiece by the famous British female writer Jane Austen in the 19th century, is also Jane Austen’s earliest novel, which took a year to complete. In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen successfully created a new era of women-Elizabeth, starting with the arrogance and prejudice of the hero Darcy and the heroine Elizabeth. After several twists and turns, the hero and heroine finally became a beautiful couple. The Jane Austen was different from the British popular literary language creation model at the time. She was bold and innovative, using female delicate thinking, exaggerated irony, simple, lively and vivid yet charming literary language, and created a book about A masterpiece of life and marriage thinking. Therefore, this article will discuss Pride and Prejudice from the perspective of literary language, and at the same time help readers better understand the connotation and internal meaning.

Abstract:Pride and Prejudice is a classic novel from Jane Austen, a prominent female British writer, which has attracted considerable attention from the perspective of language, content, feminism, and marriage view but without the plot organization. Different from the previous study, this paper aims at the plot organization of the novel to see its structure and the deep meaning. This paper is devoted to analyzing the novel from the surface and deep structure, in which the structuralist approach is employed. The surface and deep structure theory is the main clue; besides, the structuralist narratological methods are applied to analyze the cases in the novel and explore the surface structure and deep structure respectively. The concepts of surface and deep structure and the structuralist narratological methods were applied to analyze Pride and Prejudice to see how the plots act to serve for the theme. The paper shows that the achievement of a novel is closely related to its complement of the structure. The clear hierarchies can effectively elaborate the story and the theme. To divide the plot into several parts can easily control and handle the development and interaction of the plots. The relative and oppositional relations of the different plots contribute to the demonstration of the theme and the comprehension of the readers.

Abstract:The paper is dedicated to the analysis of differences and resemblances of feminism consciousness between Elizabeth Bennet and Lin Daiyu, the protagonists in Pride and Prejudice and a Dream in Red Mansions. The two works are considered pioneering greatly because female characters are of vital importance, breaking the narrative traditions. The paper, capturing this mutual transcendence, examines the two works through a feminism scope, and explores how social background influences feminism ideals by introducing the measurement “feminism applicability” for evaluation of Daiyu and Elizabeth’s respective feminism, and aims to argue that society determines, both shapes internally and affects exteriorly, applicability of feminism. By applying the comparative analysis method, the writer finally concludes that Ming-Qing and British Enlightenment triggers females’ recognition towards self, which contributes to their mutual emotionality; however, demand for rationality, females’ rights of speech and prevailing ideologies differentiate in two societies, thus their strength of need for self-judgement and autonomy is differed, resulting in different levels of feminism applicability.

So the writing about feminism in this novel, namely the status of women, legalities of marriage, women’s education, moral standard upon sex as well as Jane Austen’s own life experience. It was thought that Austen was a romance writer who taught virtue in her prose.

Abstract:This article is mainly a book review, aiming to discuss the inequality and equality in love reflected in the novel based on the psychology of the characters and plots in Pride and Prejudice mainly through literature analysis. This book review essay first introduces the background of the novel Pride and Prejudice in order to lay a clear foundation of this article, then analyzes how and what factors breed the feelings of pride and prejudice between the two protagonists. Abstract:This paper presents a detailed analysis of character images in Jane Austen's seminal work, "Pride and Prejudice," from the unique perspective of the violation of the Cooperative Principle. Proposed by H.P. Grice, the Cooperative Principle and its conversational maxims - Quality, Quantity, Relevance, and Manner - provide a framework for understanding how conversational implicatures operate. In "Pride and Prejudice," Austen's characters frequently violate these maxims, offering a rich field for linguistic and literary analysis. This study examines how such violations contribute to character development, reveal underlying themes, and enhance the narrative's depth. These violations are not merely linguistic anomalies but serve as deliberate narrative strategies by Austen to reveal the social constraints and personal idiosyncrasies of her characters. The paper argues that the intentional violation of the Cooperative Principle in "Pride and Prejudice" is a sophisticated tool used by Austen to critique social norms of her time and to develop her characters beyond the confines of their rigid Regency context. This analysis not only contributes to the field of literature but also expands the understanding of pragmatics in the context of classic literary texts, discussing the relationship between pragmatics and literature and offering new insights into the intricate relationship between language use and literary creativity.

Abstract:Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudicewas the novel of Victorian period. This Victorian era was the timeof traditions when many aspectshas emerged in the field of literature. As a writer of Victorian period Jane Austenwas very much successfulwith the work of romantic fictions.Pride and Prejudicehas been considered herfirst novel and the story of it was located in the country of Hertfordshire. The prominent family of this novel was known as the Bennet family. They used to live in a peaceful place called Longbourn. The main attraction of the Bennet family was centered around their daughters' marriage issue. In this novel the two main male characters were Mr. Bingley and his friend Darcy, and other characters did playsomevital role regarding the concepts of love and marriage. Surrounded by the wealthy handsome men, Mrs. Bennet was finding the possible match among those opulent persons for her daughters. At first glance Mr. Bingley has found his love towards Jane, while on the other hands Mr. Darcy proved to be the perfect match for Elizabeth. With these two wealthy and decent man, there was the presence of a villain like person named Mr. Wickham, who has settled himself finally with Lydia, the youngest girl of the Bennet family. The main female protagonist of this novel was Elizabeth. She was not a complicated character rather than funny and witty in nature. Her perfect match Mr. Darcy was different than her. He was snobbish, proud and reservedtype of character. They both were always sunk in teasing and quarrelling but somehow they were essentially attracted with each other. Elizabeth has confessed that she hate him and also said it frankly after knowing that Mr. Darcy will forgive her. With all those small and big incidents mixed with sadness and happiness, they both eventually got married and lived happily ever after.This paper will actually present the importance of love and marriage in human's life and how Jane Austen beautifully portrayed these themes of love and marriage which are not only the embellishment of life but also urged for the economical needs for the people through her famous novel Pride and Prejudice.

Abstract:Pride and Prejudice is a novel of manners. In the novel Jane Austen characterises the complex conditions of women in nineteenth-century England. A woman's happiness is associated with marriage. Her social status is being guided by a man whom she chooses as her husband. Happiness and love are the secondary themes in the marriage, what carries weight is the wealth and the property of the man or groom. A woman tries to mould her identity at the optimum level to deem fit for married apparel because unmarried daughters are considered a burden on their parents. Women's priorities and choices are often ignored. The patriarchal civilization has always dominated the female counterparts through their authoritative voices. Women play a submissive role in society, their voices are crushed and they are compelled to follow in the footsteps of their husbands and fathers. In the novel, there is not a single self-made woman. All women are tied to societal constraints.
