Abstract:At the very beginning of the book-Pride and Prejudice,the author said"It is universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be want of a wife."From this line,we can find that marriage is the most important thing to women.Sometimes it even equals to men’s career at that time.It seems like once a woman married to a rich single man,she succeed in her lifetime"career".The question is what is the standard of that"succeed"? Married to a rich man,or the man you really love,or a man you had a crush on? Everyone keep these questions in mind since very early time,and different people have different opinions.In her short life,Jane Austin,the great novelist,composed six novels and created lot of female characters.Women in her novel had different attitudes toward marriage.Speaking of marriage,Pride and Prejudice must be the most representative work of it,and it is also Jane’s masterpiece.Through the different type of marriage of Mr.Bennet’s daughters,we can find the Jane’s atti tude towards marriage.In this article the author will discuss this issue based on Pride and Prejudice.

Abstract:The opening sentence of Pride and Prejudice left the deep impression on readers almost two centuries ago.As the author of Pride and Prejudice,Jane Austen was one of the famous realistic writers in English literature in the nineteenth century.In Pride and Prejudice Austen wrote four marriage types:ideal Elizabeth and Darcy,realizable Charlotte and Collins,felicitous Jane and Bingley,unhappy Lydia and Wickham.She pointed out emphatically economic consideration is the bonds of wedlock and love.She said marriage is not determined by property and family status;it is unwise to marry without money,but it is wrong to marry for money;the marriage settled by love is happy and ideal.

Abstract:Marriage is the main idea of Jane Austen’s novels. The novel reflects the ideal marriage views by describing several different marriages. It reveals a real marriage should be based on love, actual need, morality and equality. It creates a contrast between a successful marriage and an unsuccessful one. Elizabeth and Darcy’s marriage is considered as a successful one. In fact it embodies the author’s own concept of marriage, it is a fault to get married for only money and social status, but it is also foolish without thinking of these factors.

Abstract:Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudicewas the novel of Victorian period. This Victorian era was the timeof traditions when many aspectshas emerged in the field of literature. As a writer of Victorian period Jane Austenwas very much successfulwith the work of romantic fictions.Pride and Prejudicehas been considered herfirst novel and the story of it was located in the country of Hertfordshire. The prominent family of this novel was known as the Bennet family. They used to live in a peaceful place called Longbourn. The main attraction of the Bennet family was centered around their daughters' marriage issue. In this novel the two main male characters were Mr. Bingley and his friend Darcy, and other characters did playsomevital role regarding the concepts of love and marriage. Surrounded by the wealthy handsome men, Mrs. Bennet was finding the possible match among those opulent persons for her daughters. At first glance Mr. Bingley has found his love towards Jane, while on the other hands Mr. Darcy proved to be the perfect match for Elizabeth. With these two wealthy and decent man, there was the presence of a villain like person named Mr. Wickham, who has settled himself finally with Lydia, the youngest girl of the Bennet family. The main female protagonist of this novel was Elizabeth. She was not a complicated character rather than funny and witty in nature. Her perfect match Mr. Darcy was different than her. He was snobbish, proud and reservedtype of character. They both were always sunk in teasing and quarrelling but somehow they were essentially attracted with each other. Elizabeth has confessed that she hate him and also said it frankly after knowing that Mr. Darcy will forgive her. With all those small and big incidents mixed with sadness and happiness, they both eventually got married and lived happily ever after.This paper will actually present the importance of love and marriage in human's life and how Jane Austen beautifully portrayed these themes of love and marriage which are not only the embellishment of life but also urged for the economical needs for the people through her famous novel Pride and Prejudice.

Abstract:This article is mainly a book review, aiming to discuss the inequality and equality in love reflected in the novel based on the psychology of the characters and plots in Pride and Prejudice mainly through literature analysis. This book review essay first introduces the background of the novel Pride and Prejudice in order to lay a clear foundation of this article, then analyzes how and what factors breed the feelings of pride and prejudice between the two protagonists. And finally, discusses the reality reflected by marriages between some characters in the novel as well expresses author's personal views and feelings.

Abstract:This research aims at finding out (1) Austen’s view about marriage in Pride and Prejudice (2) Jane Austen and the Female condition in the eighteenth century of England through the novel (3) the relationship between marriage and money in "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen. This research is descriptive research that implies library research by collecting the library materials like taking notes frombooks, internet, dictionary and other documents which are related to the topic. The data of this research is the primary data i.e. Pride and Prejudice novel and the secondary data, i.e., the references that are related to the topic. The data was analyzed by using a structuralismgenetic method. This analyzed the literary works fromintrinsic and extrinsic elements of the work. The result of this research indicated about (1) Austen’s view about marriage in "Pride and Prejudice" they are marriage for economical reason, marriage between upper and middle class, marriage for real love, (2) Jane Austen and the female condition in the eighteenth century of England through the novel, they are (a) The importance of marriage for women (b) financial pressure to Marry (c) Restriction placed on women. Abstract:Pride and Prejudice, as a classic masterpiece about love and marriage, has been widely discussed, and the marriage of Elizabeth and Darcy is widely praised. The psychological and behavioral changes of the female protagonist in the text touch people’s hearts and drive the continuous progress of their relationship. This article applies the concept of personal space in environmental psychology and its following effects to analyze the reasons for Elizabeth’s psychological and behavioral changes. This opens up new analytical perspectives, establishing the connection between Elizabeth’s personal spatial changes and her psychology and behavior. Her first impression of Darcy causes a large personal space. The reaction to repeated violations of her personal space becomes stronger. And then, when Darcy is proved innocent, causing a dramatic change in her personal space, ultimately resulting in a positive outcome. It reveals the specific content of equality, mutual respect, independence, sincere communication, and adherence to principles based on love in Elizabeth’s views on marriage and love. This article also analyzed the connection between the author Jane Austen herself and the influence of 18th-century British social factors and provides inspiration for contemporary views on marriage and love.

Abstract:Pride and Prejudice, a masterpiece by the famous British female writer Jane Austen in the 19th century, is also Jane Austen’s earliest novel, which took a year to complete. In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen successfully created a new era of women-Elizabeth, starting with the arrogance and prejudice of the hero Darcy and the heroine Elizabeth. After several twists and turns, the hero and heroine finally became a beautiful couple. The Jane Austen was different from the British popular literary language creation model at the time. She was bold and innovative, using female delicate thinking, exaggerated irony, simple, lively and vivid yet charming literary language, and created a book about A masterpiece of life and marriage thinking. Abstract:This study examines the social life of the character Anne in the novel Persuasion, a classic novel written by Jane Austen. There are two formulations of the problem. The first issue is about how Anne Elliot's character is described in Persuasion. The second problem is about how gender and social class issues are related to Anne's life. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Anne Elliot is a wonderful person, charming, friendly, intelligent, open-minded, multi-talented and helpful. In the Middle Ages, women were considered powerless to make decisions and had to obey the rules of family and society, not preventing Anne from fighting for what she really wanted. Anne, who came from a prominent family where her father was in a high position at work, was willing and able to break the rules against relations of different social status and class. His awareness and power to make decisions eventually lead him to true love and true happiness, without interference, coercion, and persuasion from others.

Abstract:This study dismantles Jane Austen’s view in Pride and Prejudice novel triggered by the social systems in British society. The society influenced by the phenomena of the industrial revolution in England in the late eighteenth century revealed the social system. This study aims to find out how Jane Austen views the revolution of the industry in British society. By having the focus on the sociology of literature, this study applies Lucien Goldman’s genetic structuralism. By the dialectical method, the study found that in Austen’s view the landed gentry system and inheritance system was adopted to measure the social class among the societies. Jane Austen thought the inheritance system as the fallacious practice in the society as the economic condition motivated British parents to apply matchmaking for their children to get a better life. Jane Austen views that the industrial revolution plays an important role in forming social occupation at that time. The working-class condition leads them to work in the town, while the upper-class society tends to open some businesses by doing trade at the town. The rest group of middle class tends to work and dedicate themselves to the rich people.
