Abstract:We discuss the status and prospects of the Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb) experiment, one of the four large detectors based at the LHC. The physics programme of the experiment is discussed by highlighting the status of rare b -quark decays, charged current semileptonic decays and the searches for CP violation. These areas make a strong cases for a second upgrade of LHCb, which will fully harness the HL-LHC's potential as a flavour physics machine while maintaining a rich and diverse research programme. The upgrade also provides an opportunity for the development of novel detector technologies during an exciting period of anticipation in preparation for the future circular collider currently foreseen.

Abstract:The LHCb experiment is running at the Large Hadron Collider to study CP violation and rare decays in the beauty and charm sectors. The physics potential is given for five key observables sensitive to new physics in nominal conditions. The motivation and the strategy of the upgrade envisaged for 2016 is presented with the expected performance for an integrated luminosity of 50 1/fb.

Abstract:High-precision measurements performed by the LHCb collaboration have opened a new era in charm physics. Several crucial measurements, particularly in spectroscopy, rare decays and CP violation, can benefit from the increased statistical power of an upgraded LHCb detector. The upgrade of LHCb detector, its software infrastructure, and the impact on charm physics are discussed in detail.

Abstract:The LHCb experiment is running at the Large Hadron Collider to study CP violation and rare decays in the beauty and charm sectors. The motivation and the strategy of the upgrade envisaged for the long shutdown LS2 (2018) is presented. Abstract:It has been five years since the data sample from the LHCb detector, the first experiment optimized for heavy-flavor physics studies at a hadronic collider, was completed. These data led to many major discoveries in exotic hadron spectroscopy, which we review in this article. We supplement the experimental results with a selection of phenomenological interpretations. As the upgraded LHCb detector is expected to collect a larger data sample starting in 2024, the near- and further-future potential of the LHCb program in exotic hadron physics is also discussed.

The CMS collaboration has published an Expression of Interest to pursue the study of the central exclusive production processes, using near-beam detectors. Abstract:Studies of electroweak boson production at LHCb are detailed and discussed. Proposed signal selection schemes and background suppression strategies are described and the projected performance is estimated using Monte Carlo data. Due to the unique pseudorapidity coverage and triggering capabilities of LHCb, these studies will probe an unexplored region of x, Q^2 space.

Abstract:These proceedings provide a brief overview of the status of $B$ meson physics, putting particular emphasis on precision tests of the Standard Model with meson mixing data, and on the anomalies in charged- and neutral-current semileptonic $B$ decays. Abstract:Heavy flavour physics provides excellent opportunities to indirectly search for new physics at very high energy scales and to study hadron properties for deep understanding of the strong interaction. The LHCb experiment has been playing a leading role in the study of heavy flavour physics since the start of the LHC operations about ten years ago, and made a range of high-precision measurements and unexpected discoveries, which may have far-reaching implications on the field of particle physics. This review highlights a selection of the most influential physics results on CP violation, rare decays, and heavy flavour production and spectroscopy obtained by LHCb using the data collected during the first two operation periods of the LHC. The upgrade plan of LHCb and the physics prospects are also briefly discussed.

Abstract:Precision measurements in charm physics offer a window into a unique sector of potential New Physics interactions. LHCb is poised to become a world leading experiment for charm physics, recording enormous samples with a detector tailored for flavor physics. Abstract:The main aim of the LHCf experiment is to provide precise measurements of the production spectra relative to neutral particle produced by high energy proton-ion collisions in the very forward region. This information is necessary in order to test and tune hadronic interaction models used by ground-based cosmic rays experiments. In order to reach this goal, LHCf makes use of two small sampling calorimeters installed in the LHC tunnel at $\pm 140$ m from IP1, able to detect neutral particles having pseudo-rapidity $\eta > 8.4$. In this paper we will present the current status of the LHCf experiment, regarding in particular the first analysis results from data taking relative to p-p collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV.

Abstract:The Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb) detector is a single-arm forward spectrometer at the LHC, designed for the study of heavy flavour physics. In this proceedings, an overview of the detector performance and a few recent results in the field of beauty and charm physics are presented. The LHCb experiment has also undergone a major upgrade in preparation for Run 3 and Run 4 of LHC, the proceedings will briefly highlight the current activities undertaken during this period. This proceedings is based on the plenary talk presented at the XXV DAE-BRNS High Energy Physics Symposium held from 12-16 December 2022 at IISER Mohali, India.

Abstract:The large dataset of about 3000 fb$^{-1}$ that will be collected by both the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) will be used to measure Higgs boson properties in detail. Studies based on current analyses have been carried out to understand the expected precision and limitations of these measurements. The large dataset will also allow for better sensitivity to Higgs boson pair production processes and the Higgs boson self-coupling. This proceeding presents the prospects for the precise measurements of the Higgs boson properties and Higgs boson pair production with the ATLAS and CMS detectors at the HL-LHC.

Abstract:The LHCb collaboration pursues a full physics program studying dense QCD with both beam-beam and fixed-target collisions. The forward design of the LHCb spectrometer allows probing the low-x region of the nucleus, while high vertexing precision and full particle ID guarantee the reconstruction of a wide range of hadrons down to very low transverse momentum. In this contribution we present the recent LHCb results including open charm and charmonia production in fixed target collisions and Bose-Einstein correlation effects in proton-lead collisions.

Abstract:We discuss the physics opportunities and detector challenges at future hadron colliders. As guidelines for energies and luminosities we use the proposed luminosity and/or energy upgrade of the LHC (SLHC), and the Fermilab design of a Very Large Hadron Collider (VLHC). We illustrate the physics capabilities of future hadron colliders for a variety of new physics scenarios (supersymmetry, strong electroweak symmetry breaking, new gauge bosons, compositeness and extra dimensions). We also investigate the prospects of doing precision Higgs physics studies at such a machine, and list selected Standard Model physics rates.
