Abstract:Motivated by the recent interest in underground experiments phenomenology, we review the main aspects of one specific non-commutative space-time model, based on the Groenewold-Moyal plane algebra, the $theta$-Poincaru0027e space-time. In the $theta$-Poincaru0027e scenario, the Lorentz co-algebra is deformed introducing a non-commutativity of space-time coordinates. In such a theory, a new quantum field theory in non-commutative space-time can be reformulated. Tackling on several conceptual misunderstanding and technical mistakes in the literature, we will focus on several issues such: $i)$ the construction of fields theories in $theta$-Poincaru0027e; $ii)$ the unitarity of the S-matrix; $iii)$ the violation of locality, $iv)$ the violation of the spin statistic theorem and the Pauli principle; $v)$ the observables for underground experiments.

Abstract:In his ground-breaking work, K. Kato constructed the Euler system of Beilinson--Kato's zeta elements and proved spectacular results on the Iwasawa main conjecture for elliptic curves and the classical and $p$-adic Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjectures by using these elements. The goal of this expository lecture note is to explain how Kato's Euler systems fit into the framework of the arithmetic of elliptic curves and their Iwasawa theory, and we hope that this approach eventually helps the reader to read Kato's original paper more easily and with less pain. It is written for the proceedings of the program "Elliptic curves and the special values of $L$-functions (ONLINE)" in ICTS in August 2021.

Hecke operators in Morava $E$-theories of different heights

Abstract:There is a natural action of a kind of Hecke algebra $\mathcal{H}_n$ on the $n$th Morava $E$-theory of spaces. We construct Hecke operators in an amalgamated cohomology theory of the $n$th and the $(n+1)$st Morava $E$-theories. These operations are natural extensions of the Hecke operators in the $(n+1)$st Morava $E$-theory, and they induce an action of the Hecke algebra $\mathcal{H}_{n+1}$ on the $n$th Morava $E$-theory of spaces. We study a relationship between the actions of the Hecke algebras $\mathcal{H}_n$ and $\mathcal{H}_{n+1}$ on the $n$th Morava $E$-theory, and show that the $\mathcal{H}_{n+1}$-module structure is obtained from the $\mathcal{H}_n$-module structure by the restriction along an algebra homomorphism from $\mathcal{H}_{n+1}$ to $\mathcal{H}_n$.

Abstract:In 2014 Luke Wolcott created the User's Guide Project in which a group of algebraic topologists came together to write user's guides to coincide with their research papers in hopes of making their research more accessible. We examine the role of this innovative project within the greater mathematics community. We discuss the structure and history of the project, its impact on the community, and its value to the participants of the project. We end by encouraging the math community to recognize the value of the project and expand the User's Guide Project to other subfields.

Power operations preserve Thom classes in twisted equivariant Real K-theory

Abstract:We construct power operations for twisted KR-theory of topological stacks. Standard algebraic properties of Clifford algebras imply that these power operations preserve universal Thom classes. As a consequence, we show that the twisted Atiyah-Bott-Shapiro orientation commutes with power operations.

Abstract:We reformulate the time-independent Schrödinger equation as a Maurer-Cartan equation on the superspace of eigensystems of the former equation. We then twist the differential so that its cohomology becomes the space of solutions with a set energy. A perturbation of the Hamiltonian corresponds to a deformation of the twisted differential, leading to a simple recursive relation for the eigenvalue and eigenfunction corrections.

Abstract:We extend the graphical calculus developed in the first part of this paper to the parametrising spaces of quantum vertex operators. This involves a graphical implementation of the dynamical twist functor, which is a strict monoidal functor that describes how a morphism acting on the spin space of a quantum vertex operator $\Phi$ is transported to a morphism on the parametrising space of $\Phi$. The monoidal structure of the underlying nonstrict monoidal functor, considered before by Etingof and Varchenko in 1999, is given in terms of dynamical fusion operators, which are operators that describe the fusion of quantum vertex operators on the level of parametrising spaces. In the second part of the paper we use the extended graphical calculus to give intuitive, graphical derivations of various systems of difference equations for universal multipoint weighted trace functions. This includes the dual $q$-Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov-Bernard (KZB) and the dual Macdonald-Ruijsenaars (MR) equations, earlier obtained by Etingof and Varchenko in 2000, as well as an extension of the dual MR equations called dual coordinate MR equations. We use a known symmetry property of the universal weighted trace function, involving the exchange of its geometric and spectral parameter, to derive non-dual versions of these equations.

Abstract:Morse foliated open books were introduced by the autors (along with abstract and embedded versions) as a tool for studying contact manifolds with boundary, and this article illustrates the advantages of the Morse perspective. We use this to extend the definition of \textit{right-veering} to foliated open books and we show that it plays a similar role in detecting overtwistedness as in other versions of open books.

Abstract:In the preceding paper [Commun. Theor. Phys. 51 (2009) 321] we have recommended a convenient method for disentangling exponential operators in the form of exp{B + C}, trying to find an operator A that satisfies [A, B] = C, and [A,[A,B]] = 0, then from the Baker–Hausdorff formula we have exp{B + C} = exp{B+[A, B]} = eA eB e−A. After arranging eA eB = eB eA eW, the disentangling exp{B + C} = eB eW is obtained. In this work we use this method to two-mode case, especially, derive the normal ordering form of exp[h(a†a + b†b) + ga†b† + kab] without appealing to Lie algebra method.
