Abstract:In this paper, we mainly discuss some generalized metric properties and the character of the free paratopological groups, and extend several results valid for free topological groups to free paratopological groups.

Abstract:We mainly discuss the cardinal invariants and generalized metric properties on paratopological groups or rectifiable spaces, and show that: (1) If $A$ and $B$ are $\omega$-narrow subsets of a paratopological group $G$, then $AB$ is $\omega$-narrow in $G$, which give an affirmative answer for \cite[Open problem 5.1.9]{A2008}; (2) Every bisequential or weakly first-countable rectifiable space is metrizable; (3) The properties of Fr$\acute{e}$chet-Urysohn and strongly Fr$\acute{e}$chet-Urysohn are coincide in rectifiable spaces; (4) Every rectifiable space $G$ contains a (closed) copy of $S_{\omega}$ if and only if $G$ has a (closed) copy of $S_{2}$; (5) If a rectifiable space $G$ has a $\sigma$-point-discrete closed $k$-network, then $G$ contains no closed copy of $S_{\omega_{1}}$; (6) If a rectifiable space $G$ is pointwise canonically weakly pseudocompact, then $G$ is a Moscow space. Also, we consider the remainders of paratopological groups or rectifiable spaces, and give a partial answer to questions posed by C. Liu in \cite{Liu2009} and C. Liu, S. Lin in \cite{Liu20091}, respectively.

Abstract:In this paper, paratopological groups with an ωω-base are investigated. The following results are obtained, which generalizes some conclusions in literature. (1) Every Fréchet-Urysohn Hausdorff paratopological group having the property (**) with an ωω-base is first-countable, hence submetrizable, where a paratopological group G has the property (**) if there exist a non-trivial sequence {xn}n∈N in G such that both {xn}n∈N and {xn−1}n∈N converge to the identity of G. (2) The free Abelian paratopological group AP(X) on a topological space X has an ωω-base if and only if the fine quasi-uniformity of X has an ωω-base. (3) If X is a countable topological space, then the free paratopological group FP(X) on X has an ωω-base if and only if the fine quasi-uniformity of X has an ωω-base.

Abstract:Topological gyrogroups, with a weaker algebraic structure than groups, were investigated lately. In this paper, to begin with, it is shown that every first-countable Hausdorff topological gyrogroup is metrizable, which gives an affirmative answer to an open question. Next, paratopological loops are introduced. Some convergence phenomena and the property of being an $\aleph $-space in paratopological loops are discussed, which improves some known conclusions. Finally, a few questions about paratopological loops are posed.
Some generalized metric properties of $n$-semitopological groups

Abstract:A semitopological group $G$ is called {\it an $n$-semitopological group}, if for any $g\in G$ with $e\not\in\overline{\{g\}}$ there is a neighborhood $W$ of $e$ such that $g\not\in W^{n}$, where $n\in\mathbb{N}$. The class of $n$-semitopological groups ($n\geq 2$) contains the class of paratopological groups and Hausdorff quasi-topological groups. Fix any $n\in\mathbb{N}$. Some properties of $n$-semitopological groups are studied, and some questions about $n$-semitopological groups are posed. Some generalized metric properties of $n$-semitopological groups are discussed, which contains mainly results are that (1) each Hausdorff first-countable 2-semitopological group admits a coarser Hausdorff semi-metrizable topology and has $G_{\delta}^{\ast}$-diagonal; (2) each locally compact, Baire and $\sigma$-compact 2-semitopological group is a topological group; (3) the condensation of some kind of 2-semitopological groups topologies are given. Finally, some cardinal invariants of $n$-semitopological groups are discussed.

Abstract:A class of almost paratopological groups is introduced, which (1) contains paratopological groups and Hausdorff quasitopological groups; (2) is closed under products; (3) subgroups. Almost paratopological $T_1$ groups $G$ are characterized by the fact that $\{(x,y)\in G^2: xy=e\}$ is closed in $G^2$. A compact almost paratopological group is topological. A regular $\Sigma$-space with a countable extend and a separately continuous Mal'tsev operation is $\omega$-cellular (and ccc). A $\sigma$-compact regular almost paratopological group is ccc. In particular, a $\sigma$-compact regular quasitopological group is ccc.

Abstract:This paper is dedicated to Professor A.V. Arhangel'skiı̌ on the occasion of his 85th birthday. The theory of generalized metrizable spaces is an important topic of general topology. This paper is a survey of research methods and achievements on generalized metrizable properties in topological groups and weakly topological groups. We mainly study this kind of properties in topological groups, semitopological groups, paratopological groups, quasitopological groups and free topological groups, and focus on the influence of separation properties, conditions for weakly topological groups to become topological groups, cardinal invariants, weak first-countability, three-space properties and remainders in compactifications on topological groups and related structures. Finally, some unsolved problems in this field are listed for researchers.

Abstract:If f : G → Y is an irreducible closed continuous mapping defined on a regular weakly collectionwise normal first-countable meta-Lindelöf locally σ paratopological group G onto a T 1 -space Y which has a neighborhood ω ω -base at a point y ∈ Y , then f −1 ( y ) is σ -compact in G . We prove that if a Fréchet-Urysohn space X has strong α 4 -property and a weakly countably complete base , then X is first-countable, where M is a separable and metrizable space and = { F: F is a non-empty compact subset of M } and with the Vietoris topology. By this result we can get the first-countability of certain paratopological groups.

Abstract:The finite group (or profinite) topology was first introduced for the free group by M. Hall, Jr. and by Reutenauer for free monoids. This is the initial topology defined by all the monoid morphisms from the free monoid into a discrete finite group. The p-adic topology is defined in the same way by replacing “group” by “p-group” in the definition. In this paper we study the properties of these topologies and their connexions with the theory of formal languages.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove a dichotomy theorem for remainders in compactifications of paratopological groups: every remainder of a paratopological group $G$ is either Lindelöf and meager or Baire. Moreover, we give a negative answer for a question posed by D. Basile and A. Bella in \cite{B1}, and some questions about remainders of paratopological groups are posed in the paper.

Abstract:We study generic properties of topological groups in the sense of Baire category. First, we investigate countably infinite groups. We extend a classical result of B. H. Neumann, H. Simmons and A. Macintyre on algebraically closed groups and the word problem. Recently, I. Goldbring, S. Kunnawalkam Elayavalli, and Y. Lodha proved that every isomorphism class is meager among countably infinite groups. In contrast, it follows from the work of W. Hodges on model-theoretic forcing that there exists a comeager isomorphism class among countably infinite abelian groups. We present a new elementary proof of this result. Then, we turn to compact metrizable abelian groups. We use Pontryagin duality to show that there is a comeager isomorphism class among compact metrizable abelian groups. We discuss its connections to the countably infinite case. Finally, we study compact metrizable groups. We prove that the generic compact metrizable group is neither connected nor totally disconnected; also it is neither torsion-free nor a torsion group.

Abstract:In this paper, we firstly discuss the question: Is $l_{2}^{\infty}$ homeomorphic to a rectifiable space or a paratopological group? And then, we mainly discuss locally compact rectifiable spaces, and show that a locally compact and separable rectifiable space is $\sigma$-compact, which gives an affirmative answer to A.V. Arhangel'skiǐ and M.M. Choban's question [On remainders of rectifiable spaces, Topology Appl., 157(2010), 789-799]. Next, we show that a rectifiable space $X$ is strongly Fr$\acute{e}$chet-Urysohn if and only if $X$ is an $\alpha_{4}$-sequential space. Moreover, we discuss the metrizabilities of rectifiable spaces, which gives a partial answer for a question posed in \cite{LFC2009}. Finally, we consider the remainders of rectifiable spaces, which improve some results in \cite{A2005, A2007, A2009, Liu2009}.

Abstract:AbstractIn this paper, it is shown that there exists a connected topological group which is not homeomorphic to any $\omega $-narrow topological group, and also that there exists a zero-dimensional topological group $G$ with neutral element $e$ such that the subspace $X = G\setminus \{e\}$ is not homeomorphic to any topological group. These two results give negative answers to two open problems in Arhangel’skii and Tkachenko [Topological Groups and Related Structures (Atlantis Press, Amsterdam, 2008)]. We show that if a compact topological group is a $K$-space, then it is metrisable. This result gives an affirmative answer to a question posed by Malykhin and Tironi [‘Weakly Fréchet–Urysohn and Pytkeev spaces’, Topology Appl. 104 (2000), 181–190] in the category of topological groups. We also prove that a regular $K$-space $X$ is a weakly Fréchet–Urysohn space if and only if $X$has countable tightness.

Abstract:A proof is given that a permutation group in which different finite sets have different stabilizers cannot satisfy any group law. For locally compact topological groups with this property, almost all finite subsets of the group are shown to generate free subgroups. Consequences of these theorems are derived for: Thompson's group F, weakly branch groups, automorphism groups of regular trees, and profinite groups with alternating composition factors of unbounded degree. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification 20B07, 20E10, 20E18, 20P05.

Abstract:In this paper, it is proved that a non-locally compact paratopological group G has a remainder which is a p-space if and only if G is either a Lindelof p-space or a sigma-compact space. We show that if G is a non-locally compact paratopological group with a compactification bG such that the remainder bG \ G is locally metrizable, then both G and bG are separable and metrizable. It is proved that if G is a cosmic paratopological group with a paracompact remainder, then G is separable and metrizable.
SOME PROPERTIES OF BOUNDED SETS IN CERTAIN TOPOLOGICAL SPACES

Abstract:In the first part of this article we give some sufficient conditions under which a bounded set in a topological space (paratopological group) X is strongly bounded in X (p-bounded in X for every p is an element of omega*). We show that if X is a first-countable topological space, then every bounded subset of X is strongly bounded in X. If G is a paratopological group and for every U is an element of N(e) there exists a continuous homomorphism PU: G -> H-U onto a first-countable Hausdorff paratopological group H-U such that p(U)(-1) ((V-U) over bar) subset of (U) over bar for some neighborhood V-U of the neutral element of H-U, then any bounded set in G is strongly bounded in G. We also give some sufficient conditions under which a semitopological group G satisfies that for any U is an element of N(e) there exists a continuous homomorphism p(U): G -> H-U onto a first-countable Hausdorff semitopological group H-U such that p(U)(-1) ((V-U) over bar) subset of (U) over bar for some neighborhood V-U of the neutral element of H-U. In the last part of this note, we give some equivalent conditions for a bounded set in a Tychonoff topological space. We finally show that every pseudocompact submetacompact space is weakly Lindelof.
Pragmatic finiteness properties of locally compact groups

Abstract:We compare finiteness properties of locally compact groups that generalize the properties of being compactly generated and of being compactly presented. Three such families of properties have been proposed: Abels--Tiemeyer's type $C_n$, coarse $(n-1)$-connectedness, and Castellano--Corob-Cook's type $F_n$. The first was defined for locally compact groups, the second can be defined for general topological groups, while the third was defined only for tdlc groups. We prove that all three families lead to the same notion for locally compact groups. This justifies working with these properties despite the fact that it is still unclear in which sense they describe finiteness properties of free classifying spaces for locally compact groups. Various parts of the arguments are well-known to various experts. By putting them together we hope to clarify the literature.

Abstract:Free groups have many applications in Algebraic Topology. In this paper I specifically study the finitely generated free groups by using the covering spaces and fundamental groups. By the Van Kampen's theorem, we have a famous fact that the fundamental group of a wedge sum of circles is a free group. Therefore, to study free groups, we could try to figure out the covering spaces of the wedge sum of circles. And in the appendix B, I prove the Nielsen-Schreier theorem which I will use this to study finitely index subgroups of a finitely generated free group.
A Non-Ω-balanced Paratopological Group with Countable Π-Character

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly prove that if G is a saturated paratopological group with we(G)≤κ, where κ is an infinite cardinal, then G is κ-narrow. It gives a partial answer to the problem posed by Sánchez in [10, Problem 2.24] and even more. Applying this property, we show that if G is a saturated Hausdorff paratopological group with we(G)πχ(G)≤ω, then G can be condensed onto a Hausdorff space with a countable base. Also, we construct a Hausdorff paratopological group with countable π-character, but it is not ω-balanced. This gives a negative answer to the problem posed by Sánchez in [9, Problem 2.13].

Abstract:In this paper,we show that if a rectifiable space G is a locally Lindel(o)f ∑-space,then G is strongly paracompact,which improves a result given by Lin-Zhang-Zhang [Topology Appl.,2015,193:182-191].We prove that if a rectifiable space G has a compactification bG such that bG \ G is a locally σ-space,then G is either locally compact or separable and metrizable,which generalizes a result obtained by Arhangel'skii-Choban [Topology Appl.,2010,157(4):789-799].We also show that if a non-locally compact k-gentle paratopological group G has a compactification bG such that bG \ G has locally a Gδ-diagonal,then either G is a σcompact cosmic space,or bG is separable and metrizable,which generalizes two results given by Arhangel'skii [Topology Appl.,2007,154(6):1084-1088] and Liu [Topology Appl.,2009,156(5):849-854].
