This extends an earlier work where the cubic transformation was similarly used. Such a transformation can be used in multiparty communications protocols.

Abstract:We propose the use of the cubic transformation for public-key applications and digital signatures. Transformations modulo a prime p or a composite n=pq, where p and q are primes, are used in such a fashion that each transformed value has only 3 roots that makes it a more efficient transformation than the squaring transformation of Rabin, which has 4 roots. Such a transformation, together with additional tag information, makes it possible to uniquely invert each transformed value. The method may be used for other exponents as well.

Abstract:Quantum public-key cryptography (QPKC) can perform the management and distribution of keys in a large-scale quantum communication network, thus being the foundation for many cryptographic applications. The QPKC system, which uses qubit rotation as a quantum one-way function, is one of the most practical public key systems and has found many valuable extensions. In this paper, we analyze and provide supplementary properties of binary qubit rotation. On the basis of Nikolopoulos’work (Phys Rev A 77(3):032348, 2008), we have extended the qubit rotation to three dimensions and propose a ternary QPKC protocol. The protocol can resist forward search attack and achieve higher security than binary QPKC protocol. Theoretically, the protocol can be extended to a higher dimension.

Abstract:Quantum key distribution (QKD) allows Alice and Bob to agree on a shared secret key, while communicating over a public (untrusted) quantum channel. Compared to classical key exchange, it has two main advantages: (i) The key is unconditionally hidden to the eyes of any attacker, and (ii) its security assumes only the existence of authenticated classical channels which, in practice, can be realized using Minicrypt assumptions, such as the existence of digital signatures. On the flip side, QKD protocols typically require multiple rounds of interactions, whereas classical key exchange can be realized with the minimal amount of two messages using public-key encryption. A long-standing open question is whether QKD requires more rounds of interaction than classical key exchange. In this work, we propose a two-message QKD protocol that satisfies everlasting security, assuming only the existence of quantum-secure one-way functions. That is, the shared key is unconditionally hidden, provided computational assumptions hold during the protocol execution. Our result follows from a new construction of quantum public-key encryption (QPKE) whose security, much like its classical counterpart, only relies on authenticated classical channels.

Abstract:Secure multiparty computational geometry is an essential field of secure multiparty computation. It involves solving geometric problems without disclosing any private geometric information from each participating party. Privacy-preserving point-line relation determination, a pivotal branch of secure multiparty computational geometry, holds significant potential for applications in various domains, including business, engineering, and military. In this paper, leveraging the assistance of a third party, we introduce a quantum solution to privacy-preserving point-line relation determination. This approach incorporates quantum key distribution and one-time pad encryption. Under the condition that the third party does not conspire with any participant, our protocol ensures heightened security and enhanced privacy protection compared to classical methods. This superiority is attributed to the underlying principles of quantum mechanics and the utilization of one-time pad encryption. Furthermore, we extend our protocol to involve multiple third parties, employing the technology of quantum secret sharing. In scenarios where these third parties refrain from colluding with any single participant, no information is divulged to the other participant. Consequently, the protocol becomes more rational and secure when multiple third parties are involved.

Abstract:Cryptography literally means "The art & science of secret writing & sending a message between two parties in such a way that its contents cannot be understood by someone other than the intended recipient". and Quantum word is related with "Light". Thus, Quantum Cryptography is a way of descripting any information in the form of quantum particles. There are no classical cryptographic systems which are perfectly secure. In contrast to Classical cryptography which depends upon Mathematics, Quantum Cryptography utilizes the concepts of Quantum Physics which provides us the security against the cleverest marauders of the present age. In the view of increasing need of Network and Information Security, we do require methods to overcome the Molecular Computing technologies (A future technology) and other techniques of the various codebrakers. Both the parts i.e. Quantum Key distribution and Information transference from Sender to Receiver are much efficient and secure. It is based upon BB84 protocol. It can be of great use for Govt. agencies such as Banks, Insurance, Brokerages firms, financial institutions, e-commerce and most important is the Defense & security of any country. It is a Cryptographic communication system in which the original users can detect unauthorized eavesdropper and in addition it gives a guarantee of no eavesdropping. It proves to be the ultra secure mode of communication b/w two intended parties.

Generalized Quantum Singular Value Transformation

Abstract:The quantum singular value transformation has revolutionised quantum algorithms. By applying a polynomial to an arbitrary matrix, it provides a unifying picture of quantum algorithms. However, polynomials are restricted to definite parity and real coefficients, and finding the circuit (the phase factors) has proven difficult in practice. Recent work has removed these restrictions and enabled faster computation of phase factors, yet only for unitary matrices. Here we propose two generalisations. The generalised quantum singular value transformation allows complex polynomials for arbitrary matrices. For Hermitian matrices, we propose the generalised quantum eigenvalue transformation that even allows polynomials of indefinite parity. While we find that the polynomial might have to be downscaled compared to the quantum singular value transformation, the higher expressivity of polynomials and faster computation of phase factors can sometimes result in advantages. The results are achieved with various block encoding (or projected unitary encoding) techniques, including qubitisation, Hermitianisation, and multiplication. We show how to multiply block-encoded matrices with only one extra qubit, and introduce measure-early multiplication to further avoid the extra qubit and decrease average circuit length.

Abstract:In this paper, we present an efficient attack on the multivariate Quadratic Quasigroups (MQQ) public key cryptosystem. Our cryptanalysis breaks the MQQ cryptosystem by solving a system of multivariate quadratic polynomial equations using both the MutantXL algorithm and the F4 algorithm. We present the experimental results that show that MQQ systems is broken up to size n equal to 300. Based on these results we show also that MutantXL solves MQQ systems with much less memory than the F4 algorithm implemented in Magma.

Abstract:Secure quantum multiparty computation is an important field of quantum computing. Many of the preceding aggregation approaches are ( n , n ) threshold-dependent strategies, where n denotes the total number of participants. The previous aggregating techniques cannot aggregate the secret effectively if one participant is dishonest. This paper presents a quantum technique for secure aggregation. This technique is ( t , n ) threshold-dependent scheme, where t is the threshold number of participants. We used the properties of quantum mechanics to provide security in quantum aggregation. This technique can compute the aggregation of secrets securely with less computation and communication costs. The proposed aggregation technique is efficient and secure as compared to existing techniques. The simulation results of the proposed technique ensure correctness and practicality.

Abstract:Quantum cryptography is the study of delivering secret communications across a quantum channel. Recently, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) has been recognized as the most important breakthrough in quantum cryptography. This process facilitates two distant parties to share secure communications based on physical laws. The BB84 protocol was developed in 1984 and remains the most widely used among BB92, Ekert91, COW, and SARG04 protocols. However the practical security of QKD with imperfect devices have been widely discussed, and there are many ways to guarantee that generated key by QKD still provides unconditional security. This paper proposed a novel method that allows users to communicate while generating the secure keys as well as securing the transmission without any leakage of the data. In this approach sender will never reveal her basis, hence neither the receiver nor the intruder will get knowledge of the fundamental basis.Further to detect Eve, polynomial interpolation is also used as a key verification technique. In order to fully utilize the quantum computing capabilities provided by IBM quantum computers, the protocol is executed using the Qiskit backend for 45 qubits. This article discusses a plot of % error against alpha (strength of eavesdropping). As a result, different types of noise have been included, and the success probability of the desired key bits has been determined. Furthermore, the success probability under depolarizing noise is explained for different qubit counts.Last but not least, even when the applied noise is increased to maximum capacity, a 50% probability of successful key generation is still observed in an experiment.

Abstract:The multivariate public key cryptosystems (MPKCs) have a bigger scale of private key and public key than conventional number theoretic based public key cryptosystems like RSA, DH, and ECDH. In this paper, we present a method to construct the linear transformations in a private key of MPKC by generalized central symmetric matrices over a finite field of odd characteristic. This method reduces 3/8 of the scale of private key and improves the computation of inverting the linear transformations in decryption or signature generation to 3/4. It also speedups the generation of public and private keys of MPKC. The method can be recursively applied for achieving a further advantage.
QPP and HPPK: Unifying Non-Commutativity for Quantum-Secure Cryptography with Galois Permutation Group

Abstract:In response to the evolving landscape of quantum computing and the escalating vulnerabilities in classical cryptographic systems, our paper introduces a unified cryptographic framework. Rooted in the innovative work of Kuang et al., we leverage two novel primitives: the Quantum Permutation Pad (QPP) for symmetric key encryption and the Homomorphic Polynomial Public Key (HPPK) for Key Encapsulation Mechanism (KEM) and Digital Signatures (DS). Our approach adeptly confronts the challenges posed by quantum advancements. Utilizing the Galois Permutation Group's matrix representations and inheriting its bijective and non-commutative properties, QPP achieves quantum-secure symmetric key encryption, seamlessly extending Shannon's perfect secrecy to both classical and quantum-native systems. Meanwhile, HPPK, free from NP-hard problems, fortifies symmetric encryption for the plain public key. It accomplishes this by concealing the mathematical structure through modular multiplications or arithmetic representations of Galois Permutation Group over hidden rings, harnessing their partial homomorphic properties. This allows for secure computation on encrypted data during secret encapsulations, bolstering the security of the plain public key. The seamless integration of KEM and DS within HPPK cryptography yields compact key, cipher, and signature sizes, demonstrating exceptional performance. This paper organically unifies QPP and HPPK under the Galois Permutation Group, marking a significant advancement in laying the groundwork for quantum-resistant cryptographic protocols. Our contribution propels the development of secure communication systems amid the era of quantum computing.

A Non-commutative Cryptosystem Based on Quaternion Algebras

Abstract:We propose BQTRU, a non-commutative NTRU-like cryptosystem over quaternion algebras. This cryptosystem uses bivariate polynomials as the underling ring. The multiplication operation in our cryptosystem can be performed with high speed using quaternions algebras over finite rings. As a consequence, the key generation and encryption process of our cryptosystem is faster than NTRU in comparable parameters. Typically using Strassen's method, the key generation and encryption process is approximately $16/7$ times faster than NTRU for an equivalent parameter set. Moreover, the BQTRU lattice has a hybrid structure that makes inefficient standard lattice attacks on the private key. This entails a higher computational complexity for attackers providing the opportunity of having smaller key sizes. Consequently, in this sense, BQTRU is more resistant than NTRU against known attacks at an equivalent parameter set. Moreover, message protection is feasible through larger polynomials and this allows us to obtain the same security level as other NTRU-like cryptosystems but using lower dimensions.

Abstract:Multivariate Cryptography is one of the main candidates for Post-quantum Cryptography. Multivariate schemes are usually constructed by applying two secret affine invertible transformations $\mathcal S,\mathcal T$ to a set of multivariate polynomials $\mathcal{F}$ (often quadratic). The secret polynomials $\mathcal{F}$ posses a trapdoor that allows the legitimate user to find a solution of the corresponding system, while the public polynomials $\mathcal G=\mathcal S\circ\mathcal F\circ\mathcal T$ look like random polynomials. The polynomials $\mathcal G$ and $\mathcal F$ are said to be affine equivalent. In this article, we present a more general way of constructing a multivariate scheme by considering the CCZ equivalence, which has been introduced and studied in the context of vectorial Boolean functions.

Abstract:This paper introduces a new central trapdoor for multivariate quadratic (MQ) public-key cryptosystems that allows for encryption, in contrast to time-tested MQ primitives such as Unbalanced Oil and Vinegar or Hidden Field Equations which only allow for signatures. Our construction is a mixed-field scheme that exploits the commutativity of the extension field to dramatically reduce the complexity of the extension field polynomial implicitly present in the public key. However, this reduction can only be performed by the user who knows concise descriptions of two simple polynomials, which constitute the private key. After applying this transformation, the plaintext can be recovered by solving a linear system. We use the minus and projection modifiers to inoculate our scheme against known attacks. A straightforward C++ implementation confirms the efficient operation of the public key algorithms.

Abstract:This article provides the unconditional security of a semi quantum key distribution (SQKD) protocol based on 3-dimensional quantum states. By deriving a lower bound for the key rate, in the asymptotic scenario, as a function of the quantum channel's noise, we find that this protocol has improved secret key rate with much more tolerance for noise compared to the previous 2-dimensional SQKD protocol. Our results highlight that, similar to the fully quantum key distribution protocol, increasing the dimension of the system can increase the noise tolerance in the semi-quantum key distribution, as well.
An Improvement of a Key Exchange Protocol Relying on Polynomial Maps

Abstract:Akiyama et al. (Int. J. Math. Indust., 2019) proposed a post-quantum key exchange protocol that is based on the hardness of solving a system of multivariate non-linear polynomial equations but has a design strategy different from ordinary multivariate cryptography. Their protocol has two versions, an original one and a modified one, where the modified one has a trade-off that its security is strengthened while it has non-zero error probability in establishing a common key. In fact, the evaluation in their paper suggests that the probability of failing to establish a common key by the modified protocol with the proposed parameter set is impractically high. In this paper, we improve the success probability of Akiyama et al.'s modified key exchange protocol significantly while keeping the security, by restricting each component of the correct common key from the whole of the coefficient field to its small subset. We give theoretical and experimental evaluations showing that our proposed parameter set for our protocol is expected to achieve both failure probability $2^{-120}$ and $128$-bit security level.
