Abstract:Multiple myeloma is a multifocal proliferation of plasma cells in the bone marrow, in which neoplastic cells replace normal marrow cells, produce excess immunoglobulins, and infiltrate the bone. Plasmacytoma can present in the oral cavity as solitary bone or, rarely (less than 1% of cases), as extramedullary when it affects soft tissues. A female patient, 64 years old, with a diagnosis of an osteolytic lesion in the knee region of an unidentified primary tumor, complained of tingling and numbness in the mouth, in the left mandibular region radiating to the lip.
