Abstract:Let H be a Hopf algebra over a base field. If H has an ℕ-filtration such that the associated graded ring is connected graded noetherian and has enough normal elements, then H is Gorenstein. This gives a partial solution to a question of Brown and Brown-Goodearl. As a consequence, every quotient Hopf algebra of a generic quantized coordinate ring of a connected semisimple Lie group is Auslander-Gorenstein and Cohen-Macaulay. The last statement answers a question of Goodearl-Zhang.

Abstract:Let M be a k-vector space and R is an element of Hom(M-circle timesp, M-circle timesq), we present a general version of,the FRT-construction, we provide a method for examining whether an FRT-bialgebra A(R) has-a pre-braided structure and whether M can be regarded as an A(R)-dimodule. We show that the FRT-relation plays a fundamental role in determining the algebra structure on the FRT-bialgebra and the compatibility condition of relevant dimodule. As an example, we give a Hopf algebra approach for solving both homogeneous and non-homogeneous nonlinear (algebraic) equations.

Abstract:Let $m$, $n$ be two positive integers, $\Bbbk$ be an algebraically closed field with char($\Bbbk)\nmid mn$. Radford constructed an $mn^{2}$-dimensional Hopf algebra $R_{mn}(q)$ such that its Jacobson radical is not a Hopf ideal. We show that the Drinfeld double $D(R_{mn}(q))$ of Radford Hopf algebra $R_{mn}(q)$ has ribbon elements if and only if $n$ is odd. Moreover, if $m$ is even and $n$ is odd, then $D(R_{mn}(q))$ has two ribbon elements, if both $m$ and $n$ are odd, then $D(R_{mn}(q))$ has only one ribbon element. Finally, we compute explicitly all ribbon elements of $D(R_{mn}(q))$.

Abstract:We introduce the notions of sovereign, spherical and balanced quasi-Hopf algebra. We investigate the connections between these, as well as their connections with the class of pivotal, involutory and ribbon quasi-Hopf algebras, respectively. Examples of balanced and ribbon quasi-Hopf algebras are obtained from a sort of double construction which associates to a braided category (resp. rigid braided) a balanced (resp. ribbon) one.

Abstract:Let s, t be two positive integers and k be an algebraically closed field with char (k)∤st. We show that the Drinfeld double D(⋀st,t*cop) of generalized Taft–Hopf algebra ⋀st,t*cop has ribbon elements if and only if t is odd. Moreover, if s is even and t is odd, then D(⋀st,t*cop) has two ribbon elements, and if both s and t are odd, then D(⋀st,t*cop) has only one ribbon element. Finally, we compute explicitly all ribbon elements of D(⋀st,t*cop).

Abstract:We explain a direct topological proof for the multiplicativity of Duflo isomorphism for arbitrary finite dimensional Lie algebras, and derive the explicit formula for the Duflo map. The proof follows a series of implications, starting with "the calculation 1+1=2 on a 4D abacus", using the study of homomorphic expansions (aka universal finite type invariants) for ribbon 2-knots, and the relationship between the corresponding associated graded space of arrow diagrams and universal enveloping algebras. This complements the results of the first author, Le and Thurston, where similar arguments using a "3D abacus" and the Kontsevich Integral were used to derive Duflo's theorem for metrized Lie algebras; and results of the first two authors on finite type invariants of w-knotted objects, which also imply a relation of 2-knots with Duflo's theorem in full generality, though via a lengthier path.

Ribbon Schur Functors

Abstract:We investigate a generalization of the classical notion of a Schur functor associated to a ribbon diagram. These functors are defined with respect to an arbitrary algebra, and in the case that the underlying algebra is the symmetric/exterior algebra, we recover the classical definition of Schur/Weyl functors, respectively. In general, we construct a family of 3-term complexes categorifying the classical concatenation/near-concatenation identity for symmetric functions, and one of our main results is that the exactness of these 3-term complexes is equivalent to the Koszul property of the underlying algebra $A$. We further generalize these ribbon Schur functors to the notion of a multi-Schur functor and construct a canonical filtration of these objects whose associated graded pieces are described explicitly; one consequence of this filtration is a complete equivariant description of the syzygies of arbitrary Segre products of Koszul modules over the Segre product of Koszul algebras. Further applications to the equivariant structure of derived invariants, symmetric function identities, and Koszulness of certain classes of modules are explored at the end, along with a characteristic-free computation of the regularity of a Schur functor applied to the tautological subbundle on projective space.

Abstract:Let H be a finite-dimensional quasi-Hopf algebra. We show for each quotient quasibialgebra Q of H that Q is a quasi-Hopf algebra whose dimension divides the dimension of H. Quasi-Hopf algebras, introduced by V. Drinfeld, are a generalization of ordinary Hopf algebras that can be motivated most easily by looking at representation categories: The category of modules over a Hopf algebra is a monoidal category, with the module structure on the tensor product over the base field of two modules given by the diagonal action via comultiplication. One of the standard applications of the Nichols-Zoeller theorem is to investigate the structure of (semisimple) Hopf algebras by dimension counting: The dimension of a Hopf subalgebra has to divide the dimension of the large Hopf algebra, a version of the classical Lagrange theorem for finite groups. This can serve to narrow down the possible examples in classification attempts. The chapter shows that any quotient quasibialgebra of a finite-dimensional quasi-Hopf algebra is a quotient quasi-Hopf algebra itself.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to the study of the quasitriangularity of Hopf algebras via Hopf quiver approaches. We give a combinatorial description of the Hopf quivers whose path coalgebras give rise to coquasitriangular Hopf algebras. With a help of the quiver setting, we study general coquasitriangular pointed Hopf algebras and obtain a complete classification of the finite-dimensional ones over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to use Clifford monoids to define weak Hopf quivers and to construct the corresponding class of weak Hopf algebras, i.e., the semilattice of graded weak Hopf algebras which were found to be useful in obtaining a regular R-matrix of a quantum double without a quasi-triangular structure. We define weak Hopf quivers and classify the semilattice of graded weak Hopf algebra structures over path coalgebras using weak Hopf quivers. This gives, precisely, a generalization of the classification of the graded weak Hopf algebra structures over path coalgebras using such quivers.
Positive Knots and Ribbon Concordance

Abstract:Ribbon concordances between knots generalize the notion of ribbon knots. Agol, building on work of Gordon, proved ribbon concordance gives a partial order on knots in $S^3$. In previous work, the author and Greene conjectured that positive knots are minimal in this ordering. In this note we prove this conjecture for a large class of positive knots, and show that a positive knot cannot be expressed as a non-trivial band sum -- both results extend earlier theorems of Greene and the author for special alternating knots. In a related direction, we prove that if positive knots $K$ and $K'$ are concordant and $|\sigma(K)| \geq 2g(K) - 2$, then $K$ and $K'$ have isomorphic rational Alexander modules. This strengthens a result of Stoimenow, and gives evidence toward a conjecture that any concordance class contains at most one positive knot.

Constructing Modular Tensor Categories with Hopf Algebras

Abstract:A modular tensor category is a non-degenerate ribbon finite tensor category. And a ribbon factorizable Hopf algebra is exactly the Hopf algebra whose finite-dimensional representations form a modular tensor category. The goal of this paper is to construct both semisimple and non-semisimple modular categories with Hopf algebras. In particular, we study central extensions of Hopf algebras and characterize some conditions for a quotient Hopf algebra to be a factorizable one. Then we give a special way to obtain ribbon elements. As a result, we apply to some finite dimensional pointed Hopf algebras introduced by Andruskiewitsch etc and obtain two families of ribbon factorizable Hopf algebras. With little restrictions to their parameters, we prove that their representation categories are prime modular tensor categories which are not tensor equivalent to representation categories of small quantum groups. Lastly, we construct a family of semisimple ribbon factorizable Hopf algebas A(p,q), where p,q are prime numbers satisfying some conditions. And we decompose Rep(A(p,q)) into prime modular tensor categories and prove that A(p,q) can't be obtained by some obvious ways, i.e. it's not tensor product of trivial Hopf algebras (group algebras or their dual) and Drinfeld doubles.

Abstract:In this work, we provide a rigorous definition of ribbon operators in the Semidual Kitaev lattice model and study their properties. These operators are essential for understanding quasi-particle excitations within topologically ordered systems. We show that the ribbon operators generate quasi-particle excitations at the ends of the ribbon and reveal themselves as irreducible representations of the Bicrossproduct quantum group $M(H)=H^{\text{cop}}\lrbicross H$ or $M(H)^{\text{op}}$ depending on their chirality or local orientation.

Construction of factorizable Hopf algebras

Abstract:We focus on the problem of producing new modular tensor categories from Hopf algebras. To do this, we first give a general method to construct factorizable Hopf algebras. Then we apply the method to construct two families of ribbon factorizable Hopf algebras which are not quantum groups or Drinfel'd double. One family are point Hopf algebras which give non-semisimple modular tensor categories, while the other family are C^*-Hopf algebras which give new unitary modular tensor categories. Lastly, we determine the fusion rings of these unitary modular tensor categories.

Abstract:We show that the second bounded cohomology of finitely generated free racks is infinite dimensional by constructing rack quasimorphisms using homogenous group quasimorphisms. Similar construction works in the case of free quandles. We show that Rolli's generalization to free products also works in the case of racks.

Abstract:For a ribbon knot, it is a folk conjecture that the rank of its knot Floer homology must be 1 modulo 8, and another folk conjecture says the same about reduced Khovanov homology. We give the first counter-examples to both of these folk conjectures, but at the same time present compelling evidence for new conjectures that either of these homologies must have rank congruent to 1 modulo 4 for any ribbon knot. We prove that each revised conjecture is equivalent to showing that taking the rank of the homology modulo 4 gives a homomorphism of the knot concordance group. We check the revised conjectures for 2.4 million ribbon knots, and also prove they hold for ribbon knots with fusion number 1.

Abstract:In [9], some quasi-Hopf algebras of dimension n 3 , which can be understood as the quasi-Hopf analogues of Taft algebras, are constructed.Moreover, the quasi-Hopf analogues of generalized Taft algebras are considered in [12], where the language of the dual of a quasi-Hopf algebra is used.The Drinfeld doubles of such quasi-Hopf algebras are computed in this paper.The authors in [10] showed that the Drinfeld double of a quasi-Hopf algebra of dimension n 3 constructed in [9] is always twist equivalent to Lusztig small quantum group u q (sl 2 ) if n is odd.Based on computations and analysis, we show that this is not the case if n is even.That is, the quasi-Hopf analogue Q u q (sl 2 ) of u q (sl 2 ) is gotten.
