Abstract:The Trudinger-Moser inequality states that for functionswith c independent of u.Recently, the second author has shown that for n = 2 the bound c|Ω| may be replaced by a uniform constant d independent of Ω if the Dirichlet norm is replaced by the Sobolev norm, i.e., requiringWe extend here this result to arbitrary dimensions n > 2. Abstract:In this paper, we study the sharp constants of quantitative Hardy and Rellich inequalities on nonreversible Finsler manifolds equipped with arbitrary measures. In particular, these inequalities can be globally refined by adding remainder terms like the Brezis–Vázquez improvement, if Finsler manifolds are of strictly negative flag curvature, vanishing S-curvature and finite uniformity constant. Furthermore, these results remain valid when Finsler metrics are reversible.

Abstract:We study the behavior of the smallest possible constants $d(a,b)$ and $d_n$ in Hardy's inequalities $$ \int_a^b\left(\frac{1}{x}\int_a^xf(t)dt\right)^2\,dx\leq d(a,b)\,\int_a^b [f(x)]^2 dx $$ and $$ \sum_{k=1}^{n}\Big(\frac{1}{k}\sum_{j=1}^{k}a_j\Big)^2\leq d_n\,\sum_{k=1}^{n}a_k^2. $$ The exact constant $d(a,b)$ and the precise rate of convergence of $d_n$ are established and the extremal function and the ``almost extremal'' sequence are found.

Abstract:In this note, we will prove an inequality for almost plurisubharmonic functions on any Kahler-Einstein manifolds with positive scalar curvature. This inequality generalizes the stronger version of the so called Moser-Trudinger-Onofri inequality on S-2, which was proved in [Au], and also refines a weaker inequality found by the first author in [T2].

Abstract:In the paper we investigate Trudinger-Moser type inequalities in presence of logarithmic kernels in dimension N. A sharp threshold, depending on N, is detected for the existence of estremal functions or blow-up, where the domain is the ball or the entire space. We also show that the extremal functions satisfy suitable Euler-Lagrange equations. When the domain is the entire space, such equation can be derived by N-Laplacian Schrodinger equation strongly coupled with a higher order fractional Poisson's equation. The results extends [16] to any dimension N bigger than 2.

We prove there exists some $ B \in \mathbb{R} $ depending only on $ (M, g) $, $ m $, and $ n $ such that for all $ u \in H_m^2(M) $, $$ \lVert u \rVert_{2^\#}^2 \leq K(m,n) \int_M (\Delta^\frac{m}{2} u)^2 dv_g + B \lVert u \rVert_{H_{m-1}^2(M)}^2 $$ where $ 2^\# = \frac{2n}{n-2m} $, $ K(m,n) $ is the square of the best constant for the embedding $ W^{m,2}(\mathbb{R}^n) \subset L^{2^\#}(\mathbb{R}^n) $, $ H_m^2(M) $ is the Sobolev space consisting of functions on $ M $ with $ m $ weak derivatives in $ L^2(M) $, and $ \Delta^\frac{m}{2} = \nabla \Delta^{\frac{m-1}{2}} $ if $ m $ is odd. This inequality is sharp in the sense that $ K(m,n) $ cannot be lowered to any smaller constant. This extends the work of Hebey-Vaugon and Hebey which correspond respectively to the cases $ m=1 $ and $ m=2 $.

Abstract:The Moser-Trudinger embedding has been generalized in [Adimurthi A.; Sandeep K., A singular Moser-Trudinger embedding and its applications, \textit{NoDEA Nonlinear Differential Equations Appl.}, 13 (2007), no. 5-6, 585--603] to the following weighted version: if $\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n$ is bounded, $\omega_{n-1}$ is the $\mathcal{H}^{n-1}$ measure of the unit sphere, then for $\alpha>0$ and $\beta\in [0,n)$, $$ \sup_{u\in\mathcal{B}_1}\int_{\Omega}\frac{e^{\alpha |u|^{n/(n-1)}}}{|x|^{\beta}}\leq C \ \Leftrightarrow \ \frac{\alpha}{\alpha_n}+\frac{\beta}{n}\leq1,\qquad $$ where $\alpha_n=n\cnn$ and $\mathcal{B}_1 = \left\{ u \in W_0^{1, n}(\Omega) \ | \ \int_{\Omega} |\nabla u |^n \leq1 \right\}$. We prove that the supremum is attained on any domain $\Omega$. The paper also fills in the gaps in the proof of [Lin K.C., Extremal functions for Moser's inequality, \textit{Trans. of. Am. Math. Soc.}, 384 (1996), 2663--2671], which deals with the case $\beta=0.$

The potential conditions are as follows. (V-1) 0 <= m = in f(x is an element of Rn) V (x) < sup(x is an element of Rn) V (x) = lim(vertical bar x vertical bar ->infinity) V (x) = M <= infinity. (V2) V is radially symmetric, non-decreasing. Besides, we also prove that for any potentials V (x) satisfying the condition (V-1) merely and for p = n, the previous inequality is still valid. Sharp Hardy inequalities involving distance functions from submanifolds of Riemannian manifolds

Abstract:We establish various Hardy inequalities involving the distance function from submanifolds of Riemannian manifolds, where the natural weights are expressed in terms of bounds of the mean curvature of the submanifold and sectional/Ricci curvature of the ambient Riemannian manifold. Our approach is based on subtle Heintze-Karcher-type Laplace comparisons of the distance function and on a D'Ambrosio-Dipierro-type weak divergence formula for suitable vector fields, providing Barbatis-Filippas-Tertikas-type Hardy inequalities in the curved setting. Under very mild assumptions, we also establish the sharpness and non-existence of extremal functions within the Hardy inequalities and - depending on the geometry of the ambient manifold - their extensibility to various function spaces. Several examples are provided by showing the applicability of our approach; in particular, well-known Hardy inequalities appear as limit cases of our new inequalities.

Abstract:We study Hardy inequalities for antisymmetric functions in three different settings: euclidean space, torus and the integer lattice. In particular, we show that under the antisymmetric condition the sharp constant in Hardy inequality increases substantially and grows as d^4 as d \rightarrow \infty in all cases. As a side product, we prove Hardy inequality on a domain whose boundary forms a corner at the point of singularity x=0.

We give a brief overview of the history of these celebrated inequalities and, starting from the geometric problem that motivated Moser's original work, we discuss the connection between Onofri's inequality for the unit sphere and sharp inequalities on Euclidean domains. Finally, we present recent results and new insights into nonlocal interaction energy functionals in two dimension, involving logarithmic kernels.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a weighted version of one-dimensional discrete Hardy inequalities with power weights of the form . We prove the inequality when is an even natural number with the sharp constant and remainder terms. We also find explicit constants in standard and weighted Rellich inequalities(with weights ) which are asymptotically sharp as . As a by-product of this work we derive a combinatorial identity using purely analytic methods, which suggests a plausible correlation between combinatorial and functional identities.

Abstract:Given a general complete Riemannian manifold $M$, we introduce the concept of "local Moser-Trudinger inequality on $W^{1,n}(M)$". We show how the validity of the Moser-Trudinger inequality can be extended from a local to a global scale under additional assumptions: either by assuming the validity of the Poincaré inequality, or by imposing a stronger norm condition. We apply these results to Hadamard manifolds. The technique is general enough to be applicable also in sub-Riemannian settings, such as the Heisenberg group.

Abstract:In a recent work by Cruz-Uribe et al. was obtained that \[|\{x\in{\mathbb{R}^d}:w(x)|G(fw^{-1})(x)|>\alpha\}|\lesssim\frac{[w]_{A_1}^2}{\alpha}\int_{{\mathbb{R}^d}}|f|dx\] both in the matrix and scalar settings, where $G$ is either the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function or any Calderón-Zygmund operator. In this note we show that the quadratic dependence on $[w]_{A_1}$ is sharp. This is done by constructing a sequence of scalar-valued weights with blowing up characteristics so that the corresponding bounds for the Hilbert transform and maximal function are exactly quadratic.
