Abstract:We extend the Moser-Trudinger inequality of one function to systems of orthogonal functions. Our results are asymptotically sharp when applied to the collective behavior of eigenfunctions of Schrödinger operators on bounded domains.

Abstract:The Moser-Trudinger embedding has been generalized in [Adimurthi A.; Sandeep K., A singular Moser-Trudinger embedding and its applications, \textit{NoDEA Nonlinear Differential Equations Appl.}, 13 (2007), no. 5-6, 585--603] to the following weighted version: if $\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n$ is bounded, $\omega_{n-1}$ is the $\mathcal{H}^{n-1}$ measure of the unit sphere, then for $\alpha>0$ and $\beta\in [0,n)$, $$ \sup_{u\in\mathcal{B}_1}\int_{\Omega}\frac{e^{\alpha |u|^{n/(n-1)}}}{|x|^{\beta}}\leq C \ \Leftrightarrow \ \frac{\alpha}{\alpha_n}+\frac{\beta}{n}\leq1,\qquad $$ where $\alpha_n=n\cnn$ and $\mathcal{B}_1 = \left\{ u \in W_0^{1, n}(\Omega) \ | \ \int_{\Omega} |\nabla u |^n \leq1 \right\}$. We prove that the supremum is attained on any domain $\Omega$. The paper also fills in the gaps in the proof of [Lin K.C., Extremal functions for Moser's inequality, \textit{Trans. of. Am. Math. Soc.}, 384 (1996), 2663--2671], which deals with the case $\beta=0.$

Abstract:Given a general complete Riemannian manifold $M$, we introduce the concept of "local Moser-Trudinger inequality on $W^{1,n}(M)$". We show how the validity of the Moser-Trudinger inequality can be extended from a local to a global scale under additional assumptions: either by assuming the validity of the Poincaré inequality, or by imposing a stronger norm condition. We apply these results to Hadamard manifolds. The technique is general enough to be applicable also in sub-Riemannian settings, such as the Heisenberg group.

Abstract:Sharp Moser-Trudinger type inequalities and their extremal functions play an important role in studying nonlinear PDEs and geometry. We establish a new sharp Moser-Trudinger type inequality in the upper half space in two dimensions and prove the existence of extremal functions for a sharp Moser-Trudinger type inequality under dynamic changes in the unit ball.

Abstract:Continuing our previous work (Cohn, Lam, Lu, Yang, Nonlinear Analysis (2011), doi: 10.1016 /j.na.2011.09.053), we obtain a class of Trudinger-Moser inequalities on the entire Heisenberg group, which indicate what the best constants are. All the existing proofs of similar inequalities on unbounded domain of the Euclidean space or the Heisenberg group are based on rearrangement argument. In this note, we propose a new approach to solve this problem. Specifically we get the global Trudinger-Moser inequality by gluing local estimates with the help of cut-off functions. Our method still works for similar problems when the Heisenberg group is replaced by the Eclidean space or complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds.

This result gives a counter example to the conjecture of de Figueiredo, do \'o, and Ruf in their paper titled "On a inequality by N.Trudinger and J.Moser and related elliptic equations" (Comm. Pure. Appl. Math.,{\bf 55}:135-152, 2002).
Weighted Trudinger-Moser inequalities in the subcritical Sobolev spaces and their applications

Abstract:We study boundedness, optimality and attainability of Trudinger-Moser type maximization problems in the radial and the subcritical homogeneous Sobolev spaces $\dot{W}^{1,p}_{0, \text{rad}}(B_R^N)\,(p<N)$. Our results give a revision of an error in \cite[Theorem C]{HL}. Also, our inequality converges to the original Trudinger-Moser inequality as $p \nearrow N$ including optimal exponent and concentration limit. Finally, we consider an application of our inequality to elliptic problems with exponential nonlinearity.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to the Moser-Trudinger inequality on smooth riemanniansurfaces. We establish that the constants involved can be chosen to depend on only 3parameters, which are the systole, isoperimetric constant and curvature of the surface. Wehave two analogous statements, considering respectively infinite-volume surfaces and closedsurfaces. As an application, we show that there are sequences of coverings of a hyperbolicclosed surface which admit a uniform Moser-Trudinger inequality.

Abstract:In this paper, we derive the singular Moser-Trudinger inequality which involves the first eigenvalue and several singular points, and further prove the existence of the extremal functions for the relative Moser-Trudinger functional. Since the problems involve more complicated norm and multiple singular points, not only we can't use the symmetrization to deal with a one-dimensional inequality, but also the processes of the blow-up analysis become more delicate. In particular, the new inequality is more general than that of [1, 2].

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a Moser-Trudinger type inequality with a special degenerate potential V. The potential conditions are as follows. (V-1) 0 <= m = in f(x is an element of Rn) V (x) < sup(x is an element of Rn) V (x) = lim(vertical bar x vertical bar ->infinity) V (x) = M <= infinity. (V2) V is radially symmetric, non-decreasing. Besides, we also prove that for any potentials V (x) satisfying the condition (V-1) merely and for p = n, the previous inequality is still valid. Abstract:We are interested in inequalities that bound the Riesz means of the eigenvalues of the Dirichlet and Neumann Laplaciancs in terms of their semiclassical counterpart. We show that the classical inequalities of Berezin-Li-Yau and Kröger, valid for Riesz exponents $\gamma\geq 1$, extend to certain values $\gamma<1$, provided the underlying domain is convex. We also characterize the implications of a possible failure of Pólya's conjecture for convex sets in terms of Riesz means. These findings allow us to describe the asymptotic behavior of solutions of a spectral shape optimization problem for convex sets.

Abstract:The main results of this paper concern sharp constant of the Trudinger-Moser inequality in $\mathbb{R}^{2}$ for Aharonov-Bohm magnetic fields. This is a borderline case of the Hardy type inequalities for Aharonov-Bohm magnetic fields in $\mathbb{R}^2$ studied by A. Laptev and T. Weidl. As an application, we obtain the exact asymptotic estimates on best constants of magnetic Hardy-Sobolev inequalities. In order to achieve our goal, we introduce a new operator $T_{a}$ on the unit circle $\mathbb{S}^{1}$ and give the asymptotic estimates of the heat kernel $e^{tT_{a}}$ via the Poisson summation formula. Finally, we show that such Trudinger-Moser inequalities in the unit ball $\mathbb{B}^{2}$ can be improved via subtraction of an additional Hardy term to derive a Hardy-Trudinger-Moser inequality.

Abstract:This is a continuation of our previous work ( Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa Cl. Sci. , 20 , 1295–1324, 2020). Let (Σ, g ) be a closed Riemann surface, where the metric g has conical singularities at finite points. Suppose G is a group whose elements are isometries acting on (Σ, g ). Trudinger–Moser inequalities involving G are established via the method of blow-up analysis, and the corresponding extremals are also obtained. This extends previous results of Chen ( Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. , 1990), Iula–Manicini ( Nonlinear Anal. , 2017), and the authors (2020).
