Abstract:Given $\lambda\in\mathbb{R}$ and $\textbf{v}\in\mathbb{L}^3$, a $\lambda$-translator with velocity $\textbf{v}$ is an immersed surface in $\mathbb{L}^3$ whose mean curvature satisfies $H=\langle N,\textbf{v}\rangle+\lambda$, where $N$ is a unit normal vector field. When $\lambda=0$, we fall into the class of translating solitons of the mean curvature flow. In this paper we study $\lambda$-translators in $\mathbb{L}^3$ that are invariant under a 1-parameter group of translations and rotations. The former are cylindrical surfaces and explicit parametrizations are found, distinguishing on the causality of both the ruling direction and the $\lambda$-translators. In the case of rotational $\lambda$-translators we distinguish between spacelike and timelike rotations and exhibit the qualitative properties of rotational $\lambda$-translators by analyzing the non-linear autonomous system fulfilled by the coordinate functions of the generating curves.

Abstract:We prove the so-called Unitary Isotropy Theorem, a result on isotropy of a unitary involution. The analogous previously known results on isotropy of orthogonal and symplectic involutions as well as on hyperbolicity of orthogonal, symplectic, and unitary involutions are formal consequences of this theorem. A component of the proof is a detailed study of the quasi-split unitary grassmannians.

Abstract:We show that the cliques of maximal size in the confluence graph of an arbitrary unital of order $q>2$ have size $q^2$, and that these cliques are the pencils of all blocks through a given point. This solves the Erdős-Ko-Rado problem for all unitals. We also determine all maximal cliques of the confluence graph of the Hermitian unitals. As an application, we show that the confluence graph of an arbitrary unital unambiguously determines the unital. Along the way, we show that each linear space with $q^2$ points such that the sizes of both point rows and line pencils are bounded above by $q+1$ embeds in a projective plane of order $q$.

Abstract:Let A and B be unital C*-algebras, and let J ∈ A, L ∈B be Hermitian invertible elements. For every T ∈ A and S ∈ B, define Tj+ = J-1T*J and S+L = L-1S*L. Then in such a way we endow the C*-algebras A and B with indefinite structures. We characterize firstly the Jordan (J, L)-+-homomorphisms on C*-algebras. As applications, we further classify the bounded linear maps Φ: A →B preserving (J, L)-unitary elements. When A =B(H) andB =B(K), where H and K are infinite dimensional and complete indefinite inner product spaces on real orcomplex fields, we prove that indefinite-unitary preserving bounded linear surjectionsare of the form T → UVTV-1 (( )T ∈ B(H)) or T → UVT+V-1 (( )T ∈ B(H)),where U ∈ B(K) is indefinite unitary and, V: H → K is generalized indefinite unitary in the first form and generalized indefinite anti-unitary in the second one.Some results on indefinite orthogonality preserving additive maps are also given.

Abstract:Unitally nondistributive quantales are unital quantales such that the unit is approximable by the totally below relation and does not meet-distribute over arbitrary joins. It is shown that the underlying nondistributive complete lattice contains at least $7$ elements. Moreover, under mild conditions, every quantale has an extension to a unitally nondistributive quantale by the addition of an isolated unit. As a byproduct of this construction we prove that there exist $30$ non-isomorphic, unitally nondistributive quantales on the set of $7$ elements.

Abstract:For a given unitary operator $U$ on a separable complex Hilbert space $\h$, we describe the set $\mathscr{C}_{c}(U)$ of all conjugations $C$ (antilinear, isometric, and involutive maps) on $\h$ for which $C U C = U$. As this set might be empty, we also show that $\mathscr{C}_{c}(U) \not = \varnothing$ if and only if $U$ is unitarily equivalent to $U^{*}$.

Abstract:This paper studies the left (right) middle translations on finite involutory latin quandles and their representations. It also shows that a left involutory latin quandle of odd order n can be constructed from a cyclic group of odd order by the application of left middle translations. Furthermore, the concept of spins of involutory latin quandle is investigated, and it is shown that if Q is a left involutory latin quandle of odd order n, then the set of all right spins (r-spins) is a cyclic group of odd order n under composition of mapping.

Abstract:The decomposition of the space of continuous and translation invariant valuations into a sum of SO(n) irreducible subspaces is obtained. A reformulation of this result in terms of a Hadwiger type theorem for continuous translation invariant and SO(n)-equivariant tensor valuations is also given. As an application, symmetry properties of rigid motion invariant and homogeneous bivaluations are established and then used to prove new inequalities of Brunn-Minkowski type for convex body valued valuations.

Abstract:This paper considers the local integrability condition for generalised translation-invariant systems and its relation to the Calderón integrability condition, the temperateness condition and the uniform counting estimate. It is shown that sufficient and necessary conditions for satisfying the local integrability condition are closely related to lower and upper bounds on the number of lattice points that intersect with the translates of a compact set. The results are complemented by examples that illustrate the crucial interplay between the translation subgroups and the generating functions of the system.

Abstract:Invariant integrals on Hopf superalgebras, in particular, the classical and quantum Lie supergroups, are studied. The uniqueness (up to scalar multiples) of a left integral is proved, and a super version of Maschke's theorem is discussed. A construction of left integrals is developed for classical and quantum Lie supergroups. Applied to several classes of examples the construction yields the left integrals in explicit form.

Abstract:We discuss the canonical structure of a class of integrable quantum mappings, i.e. iterative canonical transformations that can be interpreted as a discrete dynamical system. As particular examples we consider quantum mappings associated with the lattice analogues of the KdV and MKdV equations. These mappings possess a non-ultralocal quantum Yang-Baxter structure leading to the existence of commuting families of exact quantum invariants. We derive the associated quantum Miura transformations between these mappings and the corresponding quantum bi-Hamiltonian structure.

On Unitary 2-Group Symmetries

Abstract:Global internal symmetries act unitarily on local observables or states of a quantum system. In this note, we aim to generalise this statement to extended observables by considering unitary actions of finite global 2-group symmetries $\mathcal{G}$ on line operators. We propose that the latter transform in unitary 2-representations of $\mathcal{G}$, which we classify up to unitary equivalence. Our results recover the known classification of ordinary 2-representations of finite 2-groups, but provide additional data interpreted as a type of reflection anomaly for $\mathcal{G}$.

A monoidal category viewpoint for translation functors for finite $W$-algebras

Abstract:We re-interpret Goodwin's translation functors for a finite $W$-algebra $H_\ell$ as an action of a monoidal subcategory of $U(\mathfrak{g})$-mod on the category of finitely generated $H_\ell$-modules. This action is obtained by transporting the tensor product of $U(\mathfrak{g})$-modules through Skryabin's equivalence. We apply this interpretation to show that the Skryabin equivalence by stages introduced by Genra and Juillard is an equivalence of $U(\mathfrak{g})$-module categories.
