Abstract:The left and right homological integrals are introduced for a large class of infinite dimensional Hopf algebras. Using the homological integrals we prove a version of Maschke's theorem for infinite dimensional Hopf algebras. The generalization of Maschke's theorem and homological integrals are the keys to study noetherian regular Hopf algebras of Gelfand-Kirillov dimension one.

Abstract:There are two classes of quantum integrable systems on a manifold with quadratic integrals, the Liouville and the Lie integrable systems, as it happens in the classical case. The quantum Liouville quadratic integrable systems are defined on a Liouville manifold and the Schrödinger equation can be solved by separation of variables in one coordinate system. The Lie integrable systems are defined on a Lie manifold and are not generally separable ones but can be solved. Therefore, there are superintegrable systems with two quadratic integrals of motion not necessarily separable in two coordinate systems. The quantum analogs of the two dimensional superintegrable systems with quadratic integrals of motion on a manifold are classified by using the quadratic associative algebra of the integrals of motion. There are six general fundamental classes of quantum superintegrable systems corresponding to the classical ones. Analytic formulas for the involved integrals are calculated in all the cases. All the known quantum superintegrable systems are classified as special cases of these six general classes. The coefficients of the associative algebra of the general cases are calculated. These coefficients are the same as the coefficients of the classical case multiplied by −ℏ2 plus quantum corrections of orders ℏ4 and ℏ6.

Abstract:In this paper the quantum integrals of the Hamiltonian of the quantum many‐body problem with the interaction potential K/sinh2(x) (Sutherland operator) are constructed as images of higher Casimirs of the Lie algebragl(N) under a certain homomorphism from the center of U (gl(N)) to the algebra of differential operators in N variables. A similar construction applied to the affine gl(N) at the critical level k=−N defines a correspondence between higher Sugawara operators and quantum integrals of the Hamiltonian of the quantum many‐body problem with the potential equal to constant times the Weierstrass function. This allows one to give a new proof of the Olshanetsky–Perelomov theorem stating that this Hamiltonian defines a completely integrable quantum system. A new expression is also given for eigenfunctions of the quantum integrals of the Sutherland operator as traces of intertwining operators between certain representations of gl(N).

Abstract:We consider some examples of quantum super-integrable systems and the associated nonlinear extensions of Lie algebras. The intimate relationship between super-integrability and exact solvability is illustrated. Eigenfunctions are constructed through the action of the commuting operators. Finite dimensional representations of the quadratic algebras are thus constructed in a way analogous to that of the highest weight representations of Lie algebras.

Abstract:Some quantum integrable finite-dimensional systems related to Lie algebras are considered. This review continues the previous review of the same authors [83] devoted to the classical aspects of these systems. The dynamics of some of these systems is closely related to free motion in symmetric spaces. Using this connection with the theory of symmetric spaces some results such as the forms of spectra, wave functions, S-matrices, quantum integrals of motion are derived. In specific cases the considered systems describe the one-dimensional n-body systems interacting pairwise via potentials g2 v(q) of the following 5 types: vI(q) = q−2, vII(q) = sinh−2 q, vIII(q) = sin−2 q, vIV(q) = P(q), vV(q) = q−2 + ω2q2. Here P(q) is the Weierstrass function, so that the first three cases are merely subcases of the fourth. The system characterized by the Toda nearest-neighbour potential exp(qjqj+ 1) is moreover considered.This review presents from a general and universal point of view results obtained mainly over the past fifteen years. Besides, it contains some new results both of physical and mathematical interest.

Abstract:In this article, we develop a theory of integration on algebraic quantum groupoids in the form of regular multiplier Hopf algebroids, and establish the main properties of integrals obtained by Van Daele for algebraic quantum groups before - faithfulness, uniqueness up to scaling, existence of a modular element and existence of a modular automorphism - for algebraic quantum groupoids under reasonable assumptions. The approach to integration developed in this article forms the basis for the extension of Pontrjagin duality to algebraic quantum groupoids, and for the passage from algebraic quantum groupoids to operator-algebraic completions, which both will be studied in separate articles.

The Schur-Weyl duality and Invariants for classical Lie superalgebras

Abstract:In this article, we provide a comprehensive characterization of invariants of classical Lie superalgebras from the super-analog of the Schur-Weyl duality in a unified way. We establish $\mathfrak{g}$-invariants of the tensor algebra $T(\mathfrak{g})$, the supersymmetric algebra $S(\mathfrak{g})$, and the universal enveloping algebra $\mathrm{U}(\mathfrak{g})$ of a classical Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$ corresponding to every element in centralizer algebras and their relationship under supersymmetrization. As a byproduct, we prove that the restriction on $T(\mathfrak{g})^{\mathfrak{g}}$ of the projection from $T(\mathfrak{g})$ to $\mathrm{U}(\mathfrak{g})$ is surjective, which enables us to determine the generators of the center $\mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{g})$ except for $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{osp}_{2m|2n}$. Additionally, we present an alternative algebraic proof of the triviality of $\mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{p}_n)$. The key ingredient involves a technique lemma related to the symmetric group and Brauer diagrams.

Abstract:We consider here the coexistence of first- and third-order integrals of motion in two dimensional classical and quantum mechanics. We find explicitly all potentials that admit such integrals, and all their integrals. Abstract:Classical integrable Hamiltonian systems generated by elements of the Poisson commuting ring of spectral invariants on rational coadjoint orbits of the loop algebra$$\widetilde{\mathfrak{g}\mathfrak{l}}^{ + *} (2,\mathbb{R})$$ are integrated by separation of variables in the Hamilton-Jacobi equation in hyperellipsoidal coordinates. The canonically quantized systems are then shown to also be completely integrable and separable within the same coordinates. Pairs of second class constraints defining reduced phase spaces are implemented in the quantized systems by choosing one constraint as an invariant, and interpreting the other as determining a quotient (i.e. by treating one as a first class constraint and the other as a gauge condition). Completely integrable, separable systems on spheres and ellipsoids result, but those on ellipsoids require a further modification of order$$\mathcal{O}(\hbar ^2 )$$ in the commuting invariants in order to assure self-adjointness and to recover the Laplacian for the case of free motion. for each case — in the ambient space ℝn, the sphere and the ellipsoid — the Schrödinger equations are completely separated in hyperellipsoidal coordinates, giving equations of generalized Lamé type.

On the space of $2d$ integrable models

Abstract:We study infinite dimensional Lie algebras, whose infinite dimensional mutually commuting subalgebras correspond with the symmetry algebra of $2d$ integrable models. These Lie algebras are defined by the set of infinitesimal, nonlinear, and higher derivative symmetry transformations present in theories with a left(right)-moving or (anti)-holomorphic current. We study a large class of such Lagrangian theories. We classify the commuting subalgebras of the $2d$ free massless scalar, and find the symmetries of the known integrable models such as sine-Gordon, Liouville, Bullough-Dodd, and Korteweg-de Vries. Along the way, we find several new sequences of commuting charges, which we conjecture are charges of integrable models which are new deformations of a single scalar. After quantizing, the Lie algebra is deformed, and so are their commuting subalgebras.

Abstract:Abnormalities of foveal smooth pursuit and the monocular optokinetic response (OKR) have often been reported in subjects with latent nystagmus (LN) and manifest latent nystagmus (MLN). This abnormality typically takes the form of a monocular asymmetry with a deficit in the response to nasal-to-temporal (N-T) motion in the visual field. Previous studies have each presented different interpretations of this finding, depending on whether the characteristics of the spontaneous oscillation were considered when analyzing the measured eye movement response: one report has suggested that these asymmetries are in fact the cause of the spontaneous nystagmus. In this study, pursuit and OKRs were examined separately and, when working synergistically and antagonistically, to attempt to overcome this difficulty. Results suggest that pursuit and the OKR could be symmetric in LN and MLN for both binocular and monocular viewing, which leads to the conclusion that the asymmetric patterns of response often reported in LN/MLN result from either shifts in the zone of minimum-intensity oscillation or from non-stimulus-specific increases in the spontaneous nystagmus.

Abstract:In this note, we establish several interesting connections between the super- group gauge theories and the super integrable systems, i.e. gauge theories with supergroups as their gauge groups and integrable systems defined on superalgebras. In particular, we construct the super-characteristic polynomials of super-Toda lattice and elliptic double Calogero-Moser system by considering certain orbifolded instanton partition functions of their corresponding supergroup gauge theories. We also derive an exotic generalization of sl(2) XXX spin chain arising from the instanton partition function of SQCD with super- gauge group, and study its Bethe ansatz equation.

Abstract:Various aspects of the theory of quantum integrable systems are reviewed. Basic ideas behind the construction of integrable ultralocal and nonultralocal quantum models are explored by exploiting the underlying algebraic structures related to the Yang-Baxter equations. Physical meaning of abstract mathematical notions like universal R-matrix, quantized algebras, Sklyanin algebra, braided algebra, Hopf algebra etc. and the role played by them in integrable systems are highlighted. Systematic construction of quantum integrable lattice as well as field models and their exact excitation spectra are presented through examples. The coordinate and algebraic formulations of the Bethe ansatz are illustrated with comparison, along with the description of nested and functional Bethe ansatzes. The techniques for deriving quantum Hamiltonians from the Lax operators are demonstrated on concrete models. The exposition of this review is kept in a fairly elementary level with emphasis on the physical contents.
Construction of a $C^*$-algebraic quantum groupoid from a weak multiplier Hopf algebra

Abstract:Van Daele and Wang developed a purely algebraic notion of weak multiplier Hopf algebras, which extends the notions of Hopf algebras, multiplier Hopf algebras, and weak Hopf algebras. With an additional requirement of an existence of left or right integrals, this framework provides a self-dual class of algebraic quantum groupoids. The aim of this paper is to show that from this purely algebraic data, with only some relatively minimal additional requirements (``quasi-invariance''), one can construct a $C^*$-algebraic quantum groupoid of separable type, recently defined by the author with Van Daele. The $C^*$-algebraic quantum groupoid is represented as an operator algebra on the Hilbert space constructed from the left integral, and the comultiplication is determined by means of a certain multiplicative partial isometry $W$, which is no longer unitary. In the last section (Appendix), we obtain some results in the purely algebraic setting, which have not appeared elsewhere.

Abstract:Quantum integrable systems and their classical counterparts are considered. We show that the symplectic structure and invariant tori of the classical system can be deformed by a quantization parameter $\hbar$ to produce a new (classical) integrable system. The new tori selected by the $\hbar$-equidistance rule represent the spectrum of the quantum system up to $O(\hbar^\infty)$ and are invariant under quantum dynamics in the long-time range $O(\hbar^{-\infty})$. The quantum diffusion over the deformed tori is described. The analytic apparatus uses quantum action-angle coordinates explicitly constructed by an $\hbar$-deformation of the classical action-angles.

Abstract:We consider a real Abelian Lie supergroup $G$ acting on its complexification $M$, equipped with a $G$-invariant super Kähler form. We extend the scheme of classical geometric quantization to this setting and construct a unitary $G$-representation. We show that the occurrences of its irreducible subrepresentations are governed by the image of the moment map of the super Kähler form. As an application, we construct a Gelfand model of $G$, namely a unitary $G$-representation in which every unitary irreducible representation occurs exactly once.
