Abstract:We introduce a novel approach based on elastic and inelastic scattering rates to extract the hyper-surface of the chemical freeze-out from a hadronic transport model in the energy range from E$_\mathrm{lab}=1.23$ AGeV to $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=62.4$ GeV. For this study, the Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) model combined with a coarse-graining method is employed. The chemical freeze-out distribution is reconstructed from the pions through several decay and re-formation chains involving resonances and taking into account inelastic, pseudo-elastic and string excitation reactions. The extracted average temperature and baryon chemical potential are then compared to statistical model analysis. Finally we investigate various freeze-out criteria suggested in the literature. We confirm within this microscopic dynamical simulation, that the chemical freeze-out at all energies coincides with $\langle E\rangle/\langle N\rangle\approx1$ GeV, while other criteria, like $s/T^3=7$ and $n_\mathrm{B}+n_\mathrm{\bar{B}}\approx0.12$ fm$^{-3}$ are limited to higher collision energies.

Abstract:In hydrodynamical modeling of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions, the freeze-out is typically assumed to take place at a surface of constant temperature or energy density. A more physical approach is to assume that freeze-out takes place at a surface of constant Knudsen number. We evaluate the Knudsen number as a ratio of the expansion rate of the system to the pion scattering rate, and apply the constant Knudsen number freeze-out criterion to ideal hydrodynamical description of heavy-ion collisions at RHIC ($\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=200$ GeV) and the LHC ($\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=2760$ GeV) energies. We see that once the numerical values of freeze-out temperature and freeze-out Knudsen number are chosen to produce similar $p_T$ distributions, the elliptic and triangular anisotropies are similar too, in both event-by-event and averaged initial state calculations.

Abstract:By analyzing the calculated baryon number susceptibility ratios ${\chi_{1}^{B}}/{\chi_{2}^{B}}$ and ${\chi_{3}^{B}}/{\chi_{1}^{B}}$ in two-flavor system via the Dyson-Schwinger equation approach of QCD, we determine the chemical freeze-out temperature and baryon chemical potential in cases of both thermodynamic limit and finite size. We calculate the center-of-mass energy dependence of the ${\chi_{4}^{B}}/{\chi_{2}^{B}}\, (\kappa \sigma^{2})$ at the freeze-out line and find an excellent agreement with experimental data in $\sqrt{S_{NN}^{}} \geq 19.6\,$GeV region when taking into account the finite size effect. Our calculations indicate that the $\kappa \sigma^{2}$ exhibits a non-monotonic behavior in lower collision energy region.

Abstract:The lattice QCD data of pressure and the energy density have been used to extract the hadronic radius parameter of the excluded volume hadron resonance gas (EVHRG) model. The equation of state can be described well with the extracted radius parameter [Formula: see text] fm. Specific heat is also calculated in the EVHRG model. Further, two new universal descriptions of chemical freeze-out parameters have been introduced based on pressure and specific heat, respectively. It is shown that the chemical freeze-out parameters obtained at various [Formula: see text] in ideal hadron resonance gas (HRG) model approximately correspond to [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], respectively. These two quantities are important to describe the thermodynamic properties of the hadronic matter created in heavy-ion collision experiment. The sensitivity of universal chemical freeze-out lines on repulsive interaction is also studied. It has been observed that the behaviors of chemical freeze-out lines for [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] in EVHRG model remain similar to ideal HRG model for the best fit value of hadronic radii.

Abstract:Rhombic cell analysis as outlined in the first paper of the present series is applied to samples of varying depths and liming luminosities of the IRAS/PSCz Catalogue. Numerical indices are introduced to summarize essential information. Because of the discrete nature of the anlaysis and of the space distribution of galaxies, the indices for a given sample must be regarded as each having an irreducible scatter. Despite the scatter, the mean indices show remarkable variations across the samples. The underlying factor for the variations is shown to be the limiting luminosity rather than the sampling depth. As samples of more and more luminous galaxies are considered over a range of some 2 magnitudes (a factor of some 50 in space density), the morpholgy of the filled and empty regions the galaxies define degrades steadily towards insignificance, and the degrading is faster for the filled than the empty region.

Abstract:We have examined the chemical freeze-out surface of the heavy-ion collision experiments within an interacting hadron resonance gas model. By considering repulsive interaction among hadrons in the mean-field level, we have suitably parameterized the freeze-out surface by fitting the yield data of mid-rapidity for the most central collision, for the collision energy available in AGS, RHIC (BES), and LHC programs. To suitably account for the repulsive interaction among mesons and (anti-) baryons, we have introduced phenomenological parameters $K_M$ and $K_B$ in the freeze-out parametrization. Although a finite value of these two parameters seem to be necessary to have an improved normalized \emph{chi-square}, the effect on the rest of the parameters like temperature and relevant chemical potentials seem to be within the standard variance.

Abstract:We study the freeze -out parameters in a QCD-assisted effective theory that accurately captures the quantum and in -medium effects of QCD at low energies. The functional renormalization group approach is implemented in our work to incorporate the nonperturbative quantum, thermal, and density fluctuations. By analyzing the calculated baryon number susceptibility ratios chi 2B=chi 1B and chi 3B=chi 2B, we determine the chemical freeze -out temperatures and baryon chemical potentials in cases of hard thermal or dense loop improved mu-dependent gluon potential and mu-independent gluon potential. We calculate the chi 4B=chi 2Bo kappa sigma 2 thorn and chi 6B=chi 2B along the freeze -out line for both cases. It is found that kappa sigma 2 exhibits a nonmonotonic behavior in a low collision energy region and approaches one for lower collision energy. chi 6B=chi 2B shows a similar complicated behavior in our calculation.

Abstract:The hadron resonance gas model with hadron-type dependent eigenvolume corrections is employed to fit the hadron yield data of the NA49 collaboration for central Pb+Pb collisions at the c.m. energy per nucleon pair Ecm=6.3, 7.6, 8.8, 12.3, and 17.3 GeV, the hadron midrapidity yield data of the STAR collaboration for Au+Au collisions at Ecm=200 GeV, and the hadron midrapidity yield data of the ALICE collaboration for Pb+Pb collisions at Ecm=2760 GeV. The influence of the eigenvolume corrections is studied.

Abstract:Abundances and $m_\bot$-spectra of strange and other hadronic particles emanating from central 158-200 A GeV reactions between nuclei are found to originate from a thermally equilibrated, deconfined source in chemical non-equilibrium. Physical freeze-out parameters and physical conditions (pressure, specific energy, entropy, and strangeness) are evaluated. Five properties of the source we obtain are as expected for direct hadron emission (hadronization) from a deconfined quark-gluon plasma phase.

Universal Freezeout Condition for Charged Hadrons in a Hybrid Approach

Abstract:Hadronic freezeout during the evolution of the medium created in heavy-ion collisions is an important phenomena. It is quite useful to find a universal freezeout condition for each and every nuclear collisions. In this article, we have constructed a hybrid model to calculate the ratio of transverse energy to total mean multiplicity $E_{T} /N_{ch}$, since this ratio can possibly act as a freezeout condition in heavy-ion collision experiments. Present hybrid model blends two approaches : Tsallis statistics and wounded quark approach. Recently, Tsallis statistics has been reliably used to obtain the transverse momentum distribution of charged hadrons produced in relativistic ion collisions. On the other side it has been shown that the pseudorapidity distribution of charged hadrons can be calculated satisfactorily using the wounded quark model (WQM). We have used this hybrid model to calculate the transverse energy density distributions, $dE_{T}/d\eta$ at midrapidity using charged particle pseudorapidity distributions, $dN_{ch}/d\eta$ and mean transverse momentum $\langle p_{T} \rangle$ in various type of nuclear collisions. We found that present hybrid model satisfactorily explains the experimental data whether other models fail to reproduce the data at central and at peripheral collisions simultaneously. Finally, ratio of transverse energy to total mean multiplicity, $E_{T} /N_{ch}$ has been computed within hybrid model and compared with the available experimental data at RHIC and LHC energies. We observed no explicit dependence of $E_{T} /N_{ch}$ on energy as well as centrality and thus it can definitely act as a freezeout criteria.

Abstract:Relative hadron abundances from high-energy heavy-ion collisions reveal substantial inhomogeneities of temperature and baryon-chemical potential within the decoupling volume. The freeze-out volume is not perfectly "stirred", i.e. the concentrations of pions, kaons, (anti-) nucleons etc are inhomogeneous. Such inhomogeneities in the late stages of the hydrodynamic expansion might be traces of a first-order phase transition.

The Effect of Light Nuclei on Chemical Freeze-out Parameters at RHIC Energies

Abstract:This study investigates the chemical freeze-out of hadrons, including light-flavor, strange-flavor particles, and light nuclei, produced in Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). Utilizing the Thermal-FIST thermodynamic statistical model, we analyzed various particle sets: those inclusive of light nuclei, those exclusive of light nuclei, and those solely comprising light nuclei. We have determined the chemical freeze-out parameters at $\sqrt{s_\text{NN}}=$7.7-200 GeV and four centralities. A significant finding was a decrease in the chemical freeze-out temperature $T_{\textrm{ch}}$ upon the inclusion of light nuclei, with an even more pronounced reduction when considering light nuclei yields exclusively. This indicates that light nuclei formation occurs at a later stage in the system's evolution at RHIC energies. We present parameterized formulas that describe the energy dependence of the chemical freeze-out temperature $T_{\textrm{ch}}$ and baryon chemical potential $\mu_B$ for three distinct particle sets in central Au+Au collisions at RHIC energies. Our results reveal the presence of at least three distinct freeze-out hyper-surfaces at RHIC energies, corresponding to different chemical freeze-out temperatures: a light flavor freeze-out temperature of $T_L$=150.2$\pm$6 MeV, a strange flavor freeze-out temperature $T_s$=165.1$\pm$2.7 MeV, and a light nuclei freeze-out temperature $T_{\textrm{ln}}$=141.7$\pm$1.4 MeV. Notably, at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies, the expected lower freeze-out temperature for light nuclei was not observed. Instead, the chemical freeze-out temperature for light nuclei was found to be approximately 10 MeV higher than that for light flavor hadrons. This discrepancy may suggest different production mechanisms for light nuclei between RHIC and LHC energies.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the kinetic freeze-out properties in relativistic heavy ion collisions at different collision energies. We present a study of standard Boltzmann-Gibbs blast-wave (BGBW) fits and Tsallis blast-wave (TBW) fits performed on the transverse momentum spectra of identified hadrons produced in Au+Au collisions at collision energies of sNN=7.7–200 GeV at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), and in Pb+Pb collisions at collision energies of sNN=2.76 and 5.02 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The behavior of strange and multistrange particles is also investigated. We found that the TBW model describes data better than the BGBW one overall, and the contrast is more prominent as the collision energy increases as the degree of nonequilibrium of the produced system is found to increase. From TBW fits, the kinetic freeze-out temperature at the same centrality shows a weak dependence of collision energy between 7.7 and 39 GeV, while it decreases as collision energy continues to increase up to 5.02 TeV. The radial flow is found to be consistent with zero in peripheral collisions at RHIC energies but sizable at LHC energies and central collisions at all RHIC energies. We also observed that the strange hadrons, with higher temperature and similar radial flow, approach equilibrium more quickly from peripheral to central collisions than light hadrons. The dependence of temperature and flow velocity on nonequilibrium parameter (q−1) is characterized by two second-order polynomials. Both a and dξ from the polynomials fit, related to the influence of the system bulk viscosity, increase toward lower RHIC energies.

An approach to chemical freeze-out scenario of identified particle spectra at 200AGeV Au-Au collisions at RHIC

Abstract:Thermal model fit indicates early chemical freeze-out of multi-strange hadrons with small collective velocities at 200AGeV Au-Au collisions at RHIC. In this work, we present our recent results by SPheRIO hydrodynamical calculations inspired by this picture. In our model, multi-strange hadrons go through chemical freeze-out when the system reaches some temperature close to the phase transition, stopping to make inelastic collisions, and their abundances are therefore determined only by partonic EOS. At a lower temperature thermal freeze-out takes place where elastic collisions are brought to a halt. We calculate the spectra for various hadrons at different centrality windows, with chemical and thermal freeze-out temperature being fit as a function of centrality. As it is shown, the result provides a reasonable panoramic description of the spectra of identified particles. Chemical freeze-out gives good correction of the multiplicity of certain species of particles, especially for multi-strange hadrons.

Abstract:We investigate an effective relativistic equation of state at finite values of temperature and baryon chemical potential with the inclusion of the full octet of baryons, the Delta-isobars and the lightest pseudoscalar and vector meson degrees of freedom. These last particles have been introduced within a phenomenological approach by taking into account of an effective chemical potential and mass depending on the self-consistent interaction between baryons. In this framework, we study of the hadron yield ratios measured in central heavy ion collisions over a broad energy range and present the beam energy dependence of underlying dynamic quantities like the net baryon density and the energy density.

Abstract:This work investigates how the theoretically calculated particle ratios and freeze-out parameters for a multi-component hot and dense non-ideal hadron resonance gas system, formed during the pre freeze-out stage in ultra-relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions, are affected by van der Waals type interactions, incorporating both repulsive and attractive interactions among hadrons. The baryons (antibaryons) are treated as hard incompressible objects. Using this theoretical approach, we analyze experimental particle ratios involving like-mass as well as unlike-mass hadrons. We also try to understand the existence of horn-like structures seen in the ratios of strange particles to pion as a function of the collision energy. Using information about the dependence of experimental particle ratios on $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ over a wide range of collision energies, we have extracted several model freeze-out parameters and examined their dependence on $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ The correlation between the $\bar{p}/p$ and $K^-/K^+$ ratios is also examined.
