Abstract:The topic of the paper is the study of germs of local holomorphisms $f$ between $C^n$ and $C^{n'}$ such that $f(M)\subset M'$ and $df(T^cM)=T^cM'$ for $M\subset C^n$ and $M'\subset C^{n'}$ generic real-analytic CR submanifolds of arbitrary codimensions. It is proved that for $M$ minimal and $M'$ finitely nondegenerate, such germs depend analytically on their jets. As a corollary, an analytic structure on the set of all germs of this type is obtained.

Abstract:The existing observational data on possible variations of fundamental physical constants (FPC) confirm more or less confidently only a variability of the fine structure constant $\alpha$ in space and time. A model construction method is described, where variations of $\alpha$ and other FPCs (including the gravitational constant $G$) follow from the dynamics of extra space-time dimensions in the framework of curvature-nonlinear multidimensional theories of gravity. An advantage of this method is a unified approach to variations of different FPCs. A particular model explaining the observable variations of $\alpha$ in space and time has been constructed. It comprises a FRW cosmology with accelerated expansion, perturbed due to slightly inhomogeneous initial data.

Abstract:Multidimensional gravitational model on the manifold $M = M_0 \times \prod_{i=1}^{n} M_i$, where $M_i$ are Einstein spaces ($i \geq 1$), is considered. The action contains $m = 2^n -1$ dilatonic scalar fields $\phi^I$ and $m$ (antisymmetric) forms $A^I$. When all fields and scale factors of the metric depend (essentially) on the point of $M_0$ and any $A^I$ is "proportional" to the volume form of submanifold $M_{i_1} \times ... \times M_{i_k}$, $1 \leq i_1 < ... < i_k \leq n$, the sigma-model representation is obtained. A family of "Majumdar-Papapetrou type" solutions are obtained, when all $M_{\nu}$ are Ricci-flat. A special class of solutions (related to the solution of some Diophantus equation on dimensions of $M_{\nu}$) is singled out. Some examples of intersecting p-branes (e.g. solution with seven Euclidean 2-branes for D = 11 supergravity) are considered.}

Abstract:We construct a wide class of black hole solutions to the general theory of ghost free multi-metric gravity in arbitrary spacetime dimension, extending and generalising the known results in 4-dimensional dRGT massive gravity and bigravity. The solutions are split into three generic classes based on whether the metrics can be simultaneously diagonalised - one of which does not exist in dRGT massive gravity nor bigravity, and is only possible when one has more than two interacting metric fields. We also linearise the general multi-metric theory to determine the dynamics of the massive spin-2 modes, including examples where this can be done analytically, and use the linear theory to discuss the stability of the 4-dimensional multi-Schwarzchild and multi-Kerr solutions. We explain how the instabilities that plague these solutions in dRGT massive gravity and bigravity carry across to the general multi-metric theory, touching upon ideas of dimensional deconstruction to make sense of the results.

Abstract:Mobile and PC/server class processor companies continue to roll out flagship core micro architectures that are faster than their predecessors. Meanwhile placing more cores on a chip coupled with constant supply voltage puts per-core energy consumption at a premium. Hence, the challenge is to find future micro architecture optimizations that not only increase performance but also conserve energy. Eliminating branch mispredictions -- which waste both time and energy -- is valuable in this respect. We first explore the control-flow landscape by characterizing mispredictions in four benchmark suites. We find that a third of mispredictions-per-1K-instructions (MPKI) come from what we call separable branches: branches with large control-dependent regions (not suitable for if-conversion), whose backward slices do not depend on their control-dependent instructions or have only a short dependence. We propose control-flow decoupling (CFD) to eradicate mispredictions of separable branches. The idea is to separate the loop containing the branch into two loops: the first contains only the branch's predicate computation and the second contains the branch and its control-dependent instructions. The first loop communicates branch outcomes to the second loop through an architectural queue. Micro architecturally, the queue resides in the fetch unit to drive timely, non-speculative fetching or skipping of successive dynamic instances of the control-dependent region. Either the programmer or compiler can transform a loop for CFD, and we evaluate both. On a micro architecture configured similar to Intel's Sandy Bridge core, CFD increases performance by up to 43%, and reduces energy consumption by up to 41%. Moreover, for some applications, CFD is a necessary catalyst for future complexity-effective large-window architectures to tolerate memory latency.

Abstract:We consider $10$-dimensional gravitational model with $SO(6)$ Yang-Mills field, Gauss-Bonnet term and $\Lambda$-term. We study so-called cosmological type solutions defined on product manifold $M = R \times R^3 \times K$, where $K$ is $6d$ Calabi-Yau manifold. By putting the gauge field 1-form to be coinciding with 1-form spin connection on $K$, we obtain exact cosmological solutions with exponential dependence of scale factors (upon $t$-variable), governed by two non-coinciding Hubble-like parameters: $H >0$, $h$, obeying $ H + 2 h \neq 0$. We also present static analogs of these cosmological solutions (for $H \neq 0$, $h \neq H$ and $ H + 2 h \neq 0$). The islands of stability for both classes of solutions are outlined.

Abstract:We find exact solutions of topologically massive gravity (TMG) and new massive gravity (NMG) in dimensions (3D) with an arbitrary cosmological constant, pure radiation, and gyratons, i.e., with possibly non-zero and in canonical coordinates. Since any `reasonable' geometry in 3D (i.e., admitting a null geodesic congruence) is either expanding Robinson-Trautman ( ) or Kundt ( ), we focus on these two classes. Assuming expansions (`GR-like' Robinson-Trautman) or (general Kundt), we systematically integrate the field equations of TMG and NMG and identify new classes of exact solutions. The case of NMG contains an additional assumption of being quadratic in , which is automatically enforced in TMG as well as in 3D GR. In each case, we reduce the field equations as much as possible and identify new classes of solutions. We also discuss various special subclasses and study some explicit solutions.

Abstract:It was shown recently that a very simple nonlocal de Sitter gravity model contains exact vacuum cosmological solution which mimics dark energy and dark matter in flat space. Some other interesting solutions have been also found. In this paper we proceed with finding several new exact cosmological solutions which belong to Bianchi I space. These solutions are simple generalizations of solutions previously found in the FLRW case of the same nonlocal de Sitter gravity model. Obtained results are discussed.

Abstract:In this article, we consider a class of four-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell theory which is coupled non-minimally to a scalar field and the Gauss-Bonnet invariant. We mainly use the numerical methods to find the solutions to the theory, with the NUT twist. We find explicitly the numerical solutions to all of the field equations. To find the appropriate consistent numerical solutions, we use the the perturbative expansion of the fields asymptotically, as well as near horizon. The solutions describe the NUTty black holes with the scalar charge which also depend explicitly on the values of the non-minimal coupling constants. We provide a detailed numerical analysis of the solutions in terms of all existing parameters of the theory.

Melvin Space-times in Supergravity

Abstract:We consider Melvin-like cosmological and static solutions for the theories of ${\cal N}=2$, $D=4$ supergravity coupled to vector multiplets. We analyze the equations of motion and give some explicit solutions with one scalar and two gauge fields. Generalized Melvin solutions with four charges are also constructed for an embedding of a truncated ${\cal N}=8$ supergravity theory. Our results are then extended to supergravity theories with the scalar manifolds $SL(N, R)/SO(N, R)$. It is shown that solutions with $N$ charges only exist for $N=8$, $6$ and $5$ corresponding to theories with space-time dimensions $D=4$, $5$ and $7$.

Abstract:We introduce a solvable system of equations that describes non-extremal multicenter solutions to six-dimensional ungauged supergravity coupled to tensor multiplets. The system involves a set of functions on a three-dimensional base metric. We obtain a family of non-extremal axisymmetric solutions that generalize the known multicenter extremal solutions, using a particular base metric that introduces a bolt. We analyze the conditions for regularity, and in doing so we show that this family does not include solutions that contain an extremal black hole and a smooth bolt. We determine the constraints that are necessary to obtain smooth horizonless solutions involving a bolt and an arbitrary number of Gibbons-Hawking centers.

Abstract:We construct new classes of exact solutions in metric--affine gravity (MAG) with string corrections by the antisymmetric $H$--field. The solutions are parametrized by generic off--diagonal metrics possessing noncommutative symmetry associated to anholonomy framerelations and related nonlinear connection (N--connection) structure. We analyze the horizon and geodesic properties of a class of off--diagonal metrics with deformed spherical symmetries. The maximal analytic extension of ellipsoid type metrics are constructed and the Penrose diagrams are analyzed with respect to adapted frames. We prove that for small deformations (small eccentricities) there are such metrics that the geodesic behaviour is similar to the Schwarzcshild one. The new class of spacetimes do not possess Killing symmetries even in the limits to the general relativity and, in consequence, they are not prohibited by black hole uniqueness theorems. Such static ellipsoid (rotoid) configurations are compatible with the cosmic cenzorship criteria. We study the perturbations of two classes of static black ellipsoid solutions of four dimensional gravitational field equations. We conclude that such anisotropic black hole objects may be stable with respect to the perturbations parametrized by the Schrodinger equations in the framework of the one--dimensional inverse scattering theory.

Precision cosmology with exact inhomogeneous solutions of General Relativity: the Szekeres models

Abstract:The exact Friedman solution to the field equations of General Relativity (GR) describing an homogeneous and isotropic universe together with its linear and higher-order perturbations are the theoretical roots of the current standard model of cosmology. However, despite its global successes, this standard model currently faces a number of tensions and anomalies, which occur mostly from a mismatch between early and late cosmic time region depictions. Actually, in the era of precision cosmology, the late inhomogeneities in the densities of the Universe components can no more be neglected. Moreover, since GR is fundamentally nonlinear, any linear perturbation theory is doomed to fail at reproducing precisely its features, while higher-order perturbed FLRW models cannot either claim the status of exact solution to Einstein's field equations. Fortunately, other GR solutions exist which are best suited for this purpose, e. g., exact inhomogeneous solutions able to represent a matter-cosmological constant dominated universe region. Among these, the Szekeres solution, which is devoid of any symmetry, appears as a proper tool for this purpose. Moreover, since these solutions possess the FLRW model as a homogeneous limit, they can be smoothly matched to the standard representation at the inhomogeneity-homogeneity transition. In this paper, the Szekeres solution and its main interesting properties, as well as the equations needed to use this solution in a cosmological context are presented. Then the prospects for a broader use of its abilities are sketched out. In particular, the use of neural networks is proposed to allow, in the future, the fitting of the huge amount of data becoming available to constrain the arbitrary functions and the constant parameters characterizing the Szekeres model, running for representing our late Universe with an increased precision.

Abstract:We present exact solutions in Einstein-Yang-Mills-Dirac theories with gauge groups SU(2) and SU(4) in Robertson-Walker space-time $R \times S^3 $, which are symmetric under the action of the group SO(4) of spatial rotations. Our approach is based on the dimensional reduction method for gauge and gravitational fields and relates symmetric solutions in EYMD theory to certain solutions of an effective dynamical system. We interpret our solutions as cosmological solutions with an oscillating Yang-Mills field passing between topologically distinct vacua. The explicit form of the solution for spinor field shows that its energy changes the sign during the evolution of the Yang-Mills field from one vacuum to the other, which can be considered as production or annihilation of fermions. Among the obtained solutions there is also a static sphaleron-like solution, which is a cosmological analogue of the first Bartnik-McKinnon solution in the presence of fermions.

Abstract:In the paper, only Static Spherically Symmetric space-times in four dimensions are considered within modified gravity models. The non-singular static metrics, including black holes not admitting a de Sitter core in the center and traversable wormholes, are reconsidered within a class of higher-order $F(R)$, satisfying the constraints $F(0)=\frac{dF}{dR}(0)=0$. Furthermore, by making use of the so-called effective field theory formulation of gravity, the quantum corrections to Einstein-Hilbert's action due to higher-derivative terms related to curvature invariants are investigated. In particular, in the case of Einstein-Hilbert action plus cubic curvature Goroff-Sagnotti contribution, the second-order correction in the Goroff-Sagnotti coupling constant is computed. In general, it is shown that the effective metrics, namely Schwarzschild expression plus small quantum corrections, are related to black holes and not to traversable wormholes. In this framework, within the approximation considered, the resolution of singularity for $r=0$ is not accomplished. The related properties of these solutions are investigated.
