We obtain an upper bound on the discrepancy between the joint distribution of $L$-functions and that of their random models. Abstract:Let $k$ be a local field of characteristic zero. Rankin-Selberg's local zeta integrals produce linear functionals on generic irreducible admissible smooth representations of $GL_n(k)\times GL_r(k)$, with certain invariance properties. We show that up to scalar multiplication, these linear functionals are determined by the invariance properties.

Abstract: In this paper we study the subconvexity problem for the Rankin-Selberg L-function and triple product L-function, allowing joint ramifications and conductor dropping range. We first extend the method of Michel-Venkatesh to reduce the bounds for L-functions to local conjectures on test vectors, then verify these local conjectures under certain conditions, giving new subconvex bounds as long as the representations are not completely related.

Abstract:Classical Kolmogorov's and Rosenthal's inequalities for the maximum partial sums of random variables are basic tools for studying the strong laws of large numbers. In this paper, motived by the notion of independent and identically distributed random variables under the sub-linear expectation initiated by Peng (2008), we introduce the concept of negative dependence of random variables and establish Kolmogorov's and Rosenthal's inequalities for the maximum partial sums of negatively dependent random variables under the sub-linear expectations. As an application, we show that Kolmogorov's strong law of larger numbers holds for independent and identically distributed random variables under a continuous sub-linear expectation if and only if the corresponding Choquet integral is finite.

Abstract:Using the error bound results established in the present paper for approximate solutions, we study the stability issues when perturbed by possibly nonaffine smooth maps E for the abstract inequality system F >=(K) 0 defined by a (possible nonclosed) convex cone K and a Frechet differentiable function F satisfying the (extended) weak gamma-condition. We provide some sufficient conditions, in terms of the information at a solution x(0), for ensuring the lower semicontinuity and/or the Lipschitz-like continuity at x(0) of the solution mapping for the perturbed system F + E >=(K) 0 with smooth perturbation E. Explicit upper bounds of the Lipschitz-like moduli are also provided.

Abstract:Let k be a local field. Let I v and I_v^' be smooth principal series representations of GL n (k) and GL n -−1 (k), respectively. The Rankin-Selberg integrals yield a continuous bilinear map I_v× I_v^'→ℂ with a certain invariance property. We study integrals over a certain open orbit that also yield a continuous bilinear map I_v× I_v^'→ℂ with the same invariance property, and show that these integrals equal the Rankin-Selberg integrals up to an explicit constant. Similar results are also obtained for Rankin-Selberg integrals for GL n (k) × GL n (k).
On the Rankin-Selberg $L$-function related to the Godement-Jacquet $L$-function II

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the $k$-th Riesz mean for the coefficients of the Rankin-Selberg $L$-function $L_{f \times f}(s)$ related to the Godement-Jacquet $L$-function with respect to $SL(n,\mathbb{Z})$. We establish an asymptotic formula for the $k$-th Riesz mean with an improved range and a better error term. As a result, we get an asymptotic relation for the partial sum of the coefficients of $L_{f \times f}(s)$.

Maximal inequalities and a law of the iterated logarithm for negatively associated random fields

Abstract:The exponential inequality of the maximum partial sums is a key to establish the law of the iterated logarithm of negatively associated random variables. In the one-indexed random sequence case, such inequalities for negatively associated random variables are established by Shao (2000) by using his comparison theorem between negatively associated and independent random variables. In the multi-indexed random field case, the comparison theorem fails. The purpose of this paper is to establish the Kolmogorov exponential inequality as well a moment inequality of the maximum partial sums of a negatively associated random field via a different method. By using these inequalities, the sufficient and necessary condition for the law of the iterated logarithm of a negatively associated random field to hold is obtained.

Abstract:Given a matrix-valued function , where , , and are known matrices, we first review two known fundamental formulas for calculating the maximum and minimum ranks of the matrix-valued function when X runs over . We then establish some new formulas for calculating the maximum and minimum ranks of when X runs over with a restriction by using a simultaneous decomposition of A, B and C, and some tricky matrix operations. Some applications of the rank formulas in completing partially-specified matrices are also given.

Abstract:Consider the following inequalities due to Caffarelli, Kohn and Nirenberg (Compositio Mathematica,1984): (∫_Ω|u|^r/|x|^sdx)^1/r≤ C(p,q,r,μ,σ,s)(∫_Ω|∇ u|^p/|x|^μdx)^a/p(∫_Ω|u|^q/|x|^σdx)^1-a/q, where Ω⊂^N (N≥ 2) is an open set; p, q, r, μ, σ, s, a are some parameters satisfying some balanced conditions. When Ω is a cone in ^N (for example, Ω=^N), we prove the sharp constant C(p,q,r,μ,σ,s) can be achieved for a very large parameter space. Besides, we find some sufficient conditions which guarantee that the following Sobolev spaces W_μ^1,p(Ω), W_μ^1,p(Ω)∩ L^p(Ω), H^1,p(^N) are compactly embedded into L^r(^N, dx/|x|^s) for some new ranges of parameters, where W_μ^1,p(Ω) is the completion of C_0^∞(Ω) with respect to the norm (∫_Ω |∇ u|^p/|x|^μdx)^1/p. As applications, we also study the equation -div(|∇ u|^p-2∇ u/|x|^μ)=λ V(x)|u|^q-2u, u∈ W_μ^1,p(Ω) under some proper conditions on V(x).

Abstract:Let denote the space of cusp forms of even integer weight k and level N . We prove an asymptotic for the Petersson trace formula for under an appropriate condition. Using the non-vanishing of a Kloosterman sum involved in the asymptotic, we give a lower bound for discrepancy in the Sato–Tate distribution for levels not divisible by 8. This generalizes a result of Jung and Sardari (Math Ann 378(1–2):513–557, 2020, Theorem 1.6) for squarefree levels. An analogue of the Sato-Tate distribution was obtained by Omar and Mazhouda (Ramanujan J 20(1):81–89, 2009, Theorem 3) for the distribution of eigenvalues where f is a Hecke eigenform and p is a prime number. As an application of the above-mentioned asymptotic, we obtain a sequence of weights such that discrepancy in the analogue distribution obtained in Omar and Mazhouda (Ramanujan J 20(1):81–89, 2009) has a lower bound.

Abstract:Assuming the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis, we provide uniform upper and lower bounds with explicit main terms for $\log{\left|\mathcal{L}(s)\right|}$ for $\sigma \in (1/2,1)$ and for functions in the Selberg class. We also provide estimates under additional assumptions on the distribution of Dirichlet coefficients of $\mathcal{L}(s)$ on prime numbers. Moreover, by assuming a polynomial Euler product representation for $\mathcal{L}(s)$, we establish both uniform bounds, and completely explicit estimates by assuming also the strong $\lambda$-conjecture.

Abstract:Let $L$ be the distinguished Laplacian on the Iwasawa $AN$ group associated with a semisimple Lie group $G$. Assume $F$ is a Borel function on $\mathbb{R}^+$. We give a condition on $F$ such that the kernels of the functions $F(L)$ are uniformly bounded. This condition involves the decay of $F$ only and not its derivatives. By a known correspondence, this implies pointwise estimates for a wide range of functions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator on symmetric spaces. In particular, when $G$ is of real rank one and $F(x)={\rm e}^{it\sqrt x}\psi(\sqrt x)$, our bounds are sharp.
