Abstract:This paper is concerned with the following nonperiodic Hamiltonian elliptic system {−ε2△u+V(x)u=Hu(x,u,v)inRN,−ε2△v+V(x)v=−Hv(x,u,v)inRN,u(x)→0andv(x)→0as|x|→∞, where ε>0 is a small parameter, and the potential V is bounded below, and H is asymptotically linear in z as |z|→∞ with z=(u,v). By applying a generalized linking theorem of strongly indefinite functionals, we obtain the existence of multiple semiclassical solutions for the above system.

Abstract:This article is concerned with the following Hamiltonian elliptic system: where ε > 0 is a small parameter, V is a potential function, and H is a super-quadratic sub-critical Hamiltonian. Applying suitable variational arguments and refined analysis techniques, we construct a new multiplicity result of semiclassical solutions which depends on the number of global minimum points of V . This result indicates how the shape of the graph of V affects the number of semiclassical solutions.

Abstract:In this paper we deal with a nonlinear Schrödinger–Poisson equation involving critical Sobolev exponent. Under a local condition imposed on the potential, we relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum values. In the proofs we apply Szulkin and Weth's generalized Nehari manifold methods, penalization techniques and Ljusternik–Schnirelmann theory.

Abstract:The paper is concerned with positive solutions to problems of the type where denotes the hyperbolic space, , , and ( ) is a non-negative functional. The potential is assumed to be strictly positive, such that where denotes the geodesic distance. First, the existence of three positive solutions is proved under the assumption that . Then the case is considered, and the existence of two positive solutions is proved. In both cases, it is assumed that Subsequently, we establish the existence of two positive solutions for and prove asymptotic estimates for positive solutions using barrier-type arguments. The proofs for existence combine variational arguments, key energy estimates involving hyperbolic bubbles.

Abstract:In the present paper, we consider the following fractional double phase problem with nonlocal reaction: where ɛ is apositive parameter, , , , is the fractional t-Laplace operator, the reaction term is continuous, and the potential satisfying a local condition. Using a variational approach and topological tools (the non-standard C 1 -Nehari manifold analysis and the abstract category theory), multiplicity of positive solutions and concentration properties for the above problem are established. Our results extend and complement some previous contributions related to double phase variational integrals.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with a class of nonhomogeneous quasilinear elliptic system driven by the locally symmetric potential and the small continuous perturbations in the whole-space $\mathbb{R}^N$. By a variant of Clark's theorem without the global symmetric condition and a Moser's iteration technique, we obtain the existence of multiple solutions when the nonlinear term satisfies some growth conditions only in a circle with center 0 and the perturbation term is any continuous function with a small parameter and no any growth hypothesis.

Abstract:Abstract We study the number of positive solutions to the ‐coupled elliptic system where , , , , , and for . We prove new multiplicity and uniqueness results for positive solutions of the system, whether the system has a variational structure or not. In some cases, we provide a rather complete characterization on the exact number of positive solutions. The results we obtain reveal that the positive solution set of this system has very different structures in the three cases , , and . Moreover, when , very different structures of the positive solution set can also be seen in the case where close to 2 and the case where close to . Similar results are given for elliptic systems with subcritical Sobolev exponents. These results substantially generalize and improve existing results in the literature. To show the effect of the uniqueness result, we apply it to prove existence of a positive solution to a 2‐coupled nonlinear Schrödinger system with critical exponent and potentials.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the Hamiltonian elliptic system in dimension two\begin{equation*}\aligned \left\{ \begin{array}{lll} -\epsilon^2\Delta u+V(x)u=g(v)\ & \text{in}\quad \mathbb{R}^2,\\ -\epsilon^2\Delta v+V(x)v=f(u)\ & \text{in}\quad \mathbb{R}^2, \end{array}\right.\endaligned \end{equation*} where $V\in C(\mathbb{R}^2)$ has local minimum points, and $f,g\in C^1(\mathbb{R})$ are assumed to be of exponential growth in the sense of Trudinger-Moser inequality. When $V$ admits one or several local strict minimum points, we show the existence and concentration of single-peak and multi-peak semiclassical states respectively, as well as strong convergence and exponential decay. In addition, positivity of solutions and uniqueness of local maximum points of solutions are also studied. Our theorems extend the results of Ramos and Tavares [Calc. Var. 31 (2008) 1-25], where $f$ and $g$ have polynomial growth. It seems that it is the first attempt to obtain multi-peak semiclassical states for Hamiltonian elliptic system with exponential growth.

Abstract:In this paper, we classify the solution of the following mixed-order conformally invariant system with coupled nonlinearity in $ \mathbb{R}^4$: \begin{equation}\left\{ \begin{aligned} & -\Delta u(x) = u^{p_1}(x) e^{q_1v(x)}, \quad x\in \mathbb{R}^4,\\ & (-\Delta)^2 v(x) = u^{p_2}(x) e^{q_2v(x)}, \quad x\in \mathbb{R}^4, \end{aligned} \right. \end{equation} where $ 0\leq p_1 < 1$, $ p_2 >0$, $ q_1 > 0$, $ q_2 \geq 0$, $ u>0$ and satisfies $$ \int_{\mathbb{R}^4} u^{p_1}(x) e^{q_1v(x)} dx < \infty,\quad \int_{\mathbb{R}^4} u^{p_2}(x) e^{q_2 v(x)} dx < \infty.$$ Under additional assumptions (H1) or (H2), we study the asymptotic behavior of the solutions to the system and we establish the equivalent integral formula for the system. By using the method of moving spheres, we obtain the classification results of the solutions in the system.

In this paper, we study the following first order Hamiltonian systems: [math] where [math], [math], [math] arises as the Lagrange multiplier, and [math] are [math] real matrices with [math]. Using the multiplicity theorem of Ljusternik–Schnirelmann together with variational methods, we show the existence of multiple normalized homoclinic solutions for this problem. We deal with not only the case det[math] for all [math] in a set of nonzero measure, but also the case det[math] for all [math]. In particular, we also obtain bifurcation results of this problem.
