Abstract:This article is concerned with the existence of multiple normalized solutions for a class of Choquard equations with a parametric perturbation where a > 0 is a constant, ε > 0 is a parameter, N ≥ 3 , α ∈ ( 0 , N ) , λ ∈ R is unknown and appears as a Lagrange multiplier, f is a continuous function with L 2 -subcritical growth, and V : R N → [ 0 , ∞ ) is a continuous function, satisfying del Pino and Felmer's local conditions. With the help of the penalization method, and Lusternik-Schnirelmann theory, we investigate the relationship between the number of positive normalized solutions and the topology of the set, where the potential V attains its minimum value if the parameter ε > 0 is small.

Abstract:We investigate the existence of normalized solutions for the following nonlinear fractional Choquard equation: $$ (-\Delta)^s u+V(\epsilon x)u=\lambda u+\left(I_\alpha *|u|^q\right)|u|^{q-2} u+\left(I_\alpha *|u|^p\right)|u|^{p-2} u, \quad x \in \mathbb{R}^N, $$ subject to the constraint $$ \int_{\mathbb{R}^N}|u|^2 \mathrm{d}x=a>0, $$ where $N>2 s, s \in(0,1), \alpha \in(0, N), \frac{N+\alpha}{N}<q<\frac{N+2 s+\alpha}{N}<p\leq \frac{N+\alpha}{N-2 s}$, $\epsilon>0$ is a parameter, and $\lambda \in \mathbb{R}$ serves as an unknown parameter acting as a Lagrange multiplier. By employing the Lusternik-Schnirelmann category theory, we estimate the number of normalized solutions to this problem by virtue of the category of the set of minimum points of the potential function $V$.

Abstract:We investigate the existence, non-existence, and multiplicity of positive solutions to a class of quasilinear Schrodinger equations with a prescribed mass condition in higher dimensions. Using the dual approach, the equation is transformed into a corresponding semilinear form. A global branch approach is employed to address nonlinearities that may be mass subcritical, critical, or supercritical. This study further examines the asymptotic behavior of positive solutions as the parameter approaches zero or infinity and identifies a continuum of unbounded solutions within the functional space under consideration.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the existence and multiplicity of normalized solutions for critical Choquard equations involving logarithmic nonlinearity in the Heisenberg group. Under suitable assumptions, combined with the truncation technique, the concentration‐compactness principle, and the genus theory, we obtain the existence and multiplicity of the normalized solutions in the Lp ‐subcritical case. As far as we know, the result of the paper is completely new in the Euclidean case.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a class of nonlinear Choquard type equations involving a general nonlinearity. By using the method of penalization argument, we show that there exists a family of solutions having multiple concentration regions which concentrate at the minimum points of the potential $V$. Moreover, the monotonicity of $f(s)/s$ and the so-called Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition are not required.

Abstract:This study is concerned with the existence of normalized solutions for the Choquard equations with critical nonlinearities where N > 2 , α ∈ ( 0 , N ) , a > 0 , and I α ( x ) is the Riesz potential given by and 2 α * = N + α N − 2 is the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev critical exponent and f is a subcritical nonlinearity. In the case that f is L 2 -supercritical growth, by means of the Pohozaev manifold method and mountain pass theorem, we obtain a couple of the normalized solution; while in the case f ( u ) = μ ∣ u ∣ q − 2 u with 2 < q < 2 + 4 N , being L 2 -subcritical growth and μ > 0 a parameter, we employ the truncation technique and the genus theory to prove the multiplicity of normalized solutions.

Abstract:We study normalised solutions for a Choquard equation in the plane with polynomial Riesz kernel and exponential nonlinearities, which are critical in the sense of Trudinger-Moser. For all prescribed values of the mass, we prove existence of a positive radial solution by a variational argument, which exploits a delicate analysis on the mountain pass level. Under an additional monotonicity assumption on the nonlinearity, such a solution turns out to be also a ground state in $H^1(\mathbb R^2)$. Our work extends in several directions the results by Deng-Yu.

Abstract:We study the non-existence and multiplicity of positive solutions of the nonlinear Choquard type equation $$ -\Delta u+ \varepsilon u=(I_\alpha \ast |u|^{p})|u|^{p-2}u+ |u|^{q-2}u, \quad {\rm in} \ \mathbb R^N, \qquad (P_\varepsilon)$$ where $N\ge 3$ is an integer, $p\in [\frac{N+\alpha}{N}, \frac{N+\alpha}{N-2}]$, $q\in (2,\frac{2N}{N-2}]$, $I_\alpha$ is the Riesz potential of order $\alpha\in (0,N)$ and $\varepsilon>0$ is a parameter. We fix one of $p,q$ as a critical exponent (in the sense of Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev and Sobolev inequalities ) and view the others in $p,q,\varepsilon, \alpha$ as parameters, we find regions in the $(p,q,\alpha, \varepsilon)$-parameter space, such that the corresponding equation has no positive ground state or admits multiple positive solutions. This is a counterpart of the Brezis-Nirenberg Conjecture (Brezis-Nirenberg, CPAM, 1983) for nonlocal elliptic equation in the whole space. Particularly, some threshold results for the existence of ground states and some conditions which insure two positive solutions are obtained. These results are quite different in nature from the corresponding local equation with combined powers nonlinearity and reveal the special influence of the nonlocal term. To the best of our knowledge, the only two papers concerning the multiplicity of positive solutions of elliptic equations with critical growth nonlinearity are given by Atkinson, Peletier (Nonlinear Anal, 1986) for elliptic equation on a ball and Juncheng Wei, Yuanze Wu (Proc. Royal Soc. Edinburgh, 2022) for elliptic equation with a combined powers nonlinearity in the whole space. The ODE technique is main ingredient in the proofs of the above mentioned papers, however, ODE technique does not work any more in our model equation due to the presence of the nonlocal term.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence and nonexistence of solutions to the following Choquard-type equation \begin{equation*} -\Delta u+(V+\lambda)u=(I_\alpha*F(u))f(u)\quad\text{in } \mathbb{R}^N, \end{equation*} having prescribed mass $\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}u^2=a$, where $\lambda\in\mathbb{R}$ will arise as a Lagrange multiplier, $N\geq 3$, $\alpha\in(0,N)$, $I_\alpha$ is Riesz potential. Under suitable assumptions on the potential function $V$ and the nonlinear term $f$, $a_0\in[0,\infty)$ exists such that the above equation has a positive ground state normalized solution if $a\in(a_0,\infty)$ and one has no ground state normalized solution if $a\in(0,a_0)$ when $a_0> 0$ by comparison arguments. Moreover, we obtain sufficient conditions for $a_0=0$.
