Abstract:In this paper, we focus on the role of power corrections in QCD factorization(QCDF) method in charmless two-body nonleptonic $B$ meson decays. We use the ratio of the branching fraction of $B^+ \to \pi^+ K^{\ast 0}$ to that of $B^0 \to \pi^- \rho^+$, for which the theoretical uncertainties are greatly reduced, to show clearly that the power corrections in charmless B decays are probably large. With other similar ratios considered, for example, for the $B^0 \to K^- \rho^+$ decay, it is very likely that, among various sources of power corrections, annihilation topology plays an indispensable role at least for penguin dominated $\rm PV$ channels. We also consider some selective ratios of direct CP asymmetries. Among these, we find that, if power corrections other than the chirally enhanced power corrections and annihilation topology were negligible, QCDF would predict the direct CP asymmetry of $B \to \pi^+ \pi^-$ to be about 3 times larger than that of $B \to \pi^\pm K^\mp$, with opposite sign. Experimentally any significant deviation from this prediction would suggest either new physics or possibly the importance of long-distance rescattering effects.

Abstract:The radiative corrections to the τ−→(P1P2)−ντ ( P1,2=π , K ) decays are calculated for the first time including the structure-dependent real photon corrections, which are obtained using resonance chiral theory. Abstract:We study decay properties of the P-wave charmed baryons using the method of light-cone QCD sum rules, including the S-wave decays of the flavor (3) over bar (F) P-wave charmed baryons into ground-state charmed baryons accompanied by a pseudoscalar meson (pi or K) or a vector meson (rho or K*), and the S-wave decays of the flavor 6(F) P-wave charmed baryons into ground-state charmed baryons accompanied by a pseudoscalar meson (pi or K). We study both two-body and three-body decays which are kinematically allowed. We find two mixing solutions from internal rho- and lambda-mode excitations, which can well describe both masses and decay properties of the Lambda(c) (2595), Lambda(c)(2625) Xi(c)(2790) and Xi(c)(2815). We also discuss the possible interpretations of P-wave charmed baryons for the Sigma(c)(2800), Xi(c)(2930), Xi(c)(2980), and the recently observed Omega(c)(3000), Omega(c)(3050), Omega(c)(3066), Omega(c)(3090), and Omega(c)(3119).

Abstract:We apply perturbative QCD to the radiative decays of charmonia J/psi and chi cJ into light mesons. We perform a complete numerical calculation for the quark-gluon loop diagrams involved in these processes. The calculated J/psi decay branching ratios into p-wave mesons f(2)(1270) and f(1)(1285) fit the data well, while that of f(0)(980) (if treated as an ss meson) is predicted to be 1.6 x 10(-4), which implies that f(0)(1710) can not be the ss or (uu + dd)/root 2 meson. Decays of p-wave charmonia chi(cJ) -> rho(w,phi)gamma (J = 0,1,2) are also studied, and the branching ratio of chi(c1) -> rho gamma is predicted to be 1.4 x 10(-5), which may be tested by CLEO-c collaboration and BESII collaboration with future experiments.

Abstract:With the generalized factorization approximation, we calculate the branching ratios and CP asymmetries in B meson decays into two charmless pseudoscalar mesons. We give a new estimation of the matrix elements of (S+P)(S-P) current products with the PQCD method instead of equation of motion. We find that our results are comparatively smaller than those in the literature.

Abstract:There has been important experimental progress in the sector of heavy baryons in the past several years. We study the strong decays of the S-wave, P-wave, D-wave and radially excited charmed baryons using the $^3P_0$ model. After comparing the calculated decay pattern and total width with the available data, we discuss the possible internal structure and quantum numbers of those charmed baryons observed recently.

Abstract:The real time exponential decay laws for meta-stable charged particles are shown to require radiative corrections. The methods employed are well known to be valid for radiatively correcting Breit-Wigner line shapes. Radiative corrections contribute substantially to precision life time measurements of muons and pions when initially stopped in condensed matter.

Abstract:We compute the full $\mathcal{O}(\alpha_s)$ corrections to stop-antistop annihilation into two gluons and a light quark-antiquark pair within the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), including the non-perturbative Sommerfeld enhancement effect. Numerical results for the total annihilation cross section are shown and the effect on the neutralino relic density is discussed for an example scenario in the phenomenological MSSM.

Abstract:In a previous paper [1], it was pointed out that the wave functions of all particles are not pure waves, besides the main partial waves, they all contain other partial waves. It is very interesting to know what role these different partial waves play in particle transitions. Therefore, by using the Bethe-Salpeter equation method, we study the radiative electromagnetic decays ψ→γχcJ and Υ→γχbJ ( J=0 , 1, 2). We find that for the S and P wave dominated states, like the ψ(2S) , Υ(2S) , χcJ(1P) , and χbJ(1P) etc., the dominant S and P waves provide main and nonrelativistic contrition to the decays; other partial waves mainly contribute to the relativistic correction. For the states like the ψ(1D) , Υ(2D) , χc2(1F) , and χb2(1F) etc., they are the S−P−D mixing state dominated by D wave or the P−D−F mixing state dominated by F wave. Large decay widths are found in the transitions ψ(2D)→χc2(1F) , Υ(1D)→χbJ(1P) , and Υ(2D)→χbJ(2P) etc., which may be helpful to study the missing states χc2(1F) , Υ(1D) , and Υ(2D) . https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.108.033003 Published by the American Physical Society under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. Abstract:We have systematically studied the strong and radiative decays of the low-lying 1P-wave doubly charmed baryons. Some interesting observations are: (i) The states. Xi*(cc) and Omega*(cc) with J(P) = 3/2(+) have a fairly large decay rate into the Xi(cc)gamma and Omega(cc)gamma channels with a width similar to 15 and similar to 7 keV, respectively. (ii) The lowest lying excited doubly charmed baryons are dominated by the 1P. mode excitations, which should be quite narrow states. They decay into the ground state with J(P) = 1/2(+) through the radiative transitions with a significant ratio. (iii) The total decay widths of the first orbital excitations of lambda mode (1P(lambda) states with J(P) = 1/2(-), 3/2(-), 5/2(-)) are about Gamma similar to 100 MeV, and the ratio between the radiative and hadronic decay widths is about O(10(-3)).

Abstract:We derive the parameterization formula for partial wave analyses of charmed meson semi-leptonic decays with consideration of the effects caused by the lepton mass. As the proposed super-tau-charm factory will reach much enhanced luminosity and BESIII is taking $\psi(3770)\to D\bar{D}$ data, our results are helpful to improve the measurement precision of future partial wave analyses of charmed meson semi-muonic decays.

Abstract:The dynamical studies on the non-leptonic weak decays of charmed baryons are always challenging, due to the large non-perturbative contributions at the charm scale. In this work, we develop the final-state rescattering mechanism to study the two-body non-leptonic decays of charmed baryons. The final-state interaction is a physical picture of long-distance effects. Instead of using the Cutkosky rule to calculate the hadronic triangle diagrams which can only provide the imaginary part of decay amplitudes, we point out that the loop integral is more appropriate, as both the real parts and the imaginary parts of amplitudes can be calculated completely. In this way, it can be obtained for the non-trivial strong phases which are essential to calculate CP violations. With the physical picture of long-distance effects and the reasonable method of calculations, it is amazingly achieved that all the nine existing experimental data of branching fractions for the $\Lambda_c^+$ decays into an octet light baryon and a vector meson can be explained by only one parameter of the model. Besides, the decay asymmetries and CP violations are not sensitive to the model parameter, since the dependence on the parameter is mainly cancelled in the ratios, so that the theoretical uncertainties on these observables are lowered down.

Abstract:In this work, we systematically study the radiative decays and magnetic moments of the charmed and bottom vector mesons with chiral perturbation theory up to one-loop level. We present the results in SU(2) and SU(3) cases with the mass splitting in loop diagrams kept and unkept, respectively. The obtained decay rates for $D^\ast$ and $B^\ast$ mesons in SU(3) case with the mass splitting kept are: $\Gamma_{\bar{D}^{\ast 0}\to \bar{D}^0\gamma}=16.2^{+6.5}_{-6.0}$ keV, $\Gamma_{D^{\ast-}\to D^-\gamma}=0.73^{+0.7}_{-0.3}$ keV, $\Gamma_{D_s^{\ast-}\to D_s^-\gamma}= 0.32^{+0.3}_{-0.3}$ keV, and $\Gamma_{B^{\ast+}\to B^+\gamma}=0.58^{+0.2}_{-0.2}$ keV, $\Gamma_{B^{\ast0}\to B^0\gamma}=0.23^{+0.06}_{-0.06}$ keV, $\Gamma_{B_s^{\ast0}\to B_s^0\gamma}=0.04^{+0.03}_{-0.03}$ keV. The decay width for $D^{\ast-}\to D^-\gamma$ is consistent with the experimental measurement. As a byproduct, the full widths of $\bar{D}^{\ast0}$ and $D_s^{\ast-}$ are $\Gamma_{\mathrm{tot}}(\bar{D}^{\ast0})\simeq77.7^{+26.7}_{-20.5}~\mathrm{keV}$ and $ \Gamma_{\mathrm{tot}}(D_s^{\ast-})\simeq0.62^{+0.45}_{-0.50}~\mathrm{keV}$, respectively. We also calculate the magnetic moments of the heavy vector mesons. The analytical chiral expressions derived in our work shall be helpful for the extrapolations of lattice QCD simulations in the coming future.

Abstract:Abstract Radiative transitions between charmonium states offer an insight into the internal structure of heavy quark bound states within QCD. In this work, we performed a systematically investigation of the radiative transitions of $$\psi (nS) \rightarrow \gamma \chi _{cJ}(mP)$$ ψ(nS)→γχcJ(mP) and $$\psi (nD) \rightarrow \gamma \chi _{cJ}(mP)$$ ψ(nD)→γχcJ(mP) via intermediate charmed meson loop with a non-relativistic effective field theory. We only focus on the line-shape behavior of the distributions via different intermediate meson loops. Our results show that the coupled-channel effects of these decays are relatively weak, while the coupled channel effects has obvious enhancement when the inial (final) states are closed to the thresholds of charmed-mesons pair.

Abstract:Abstract We investigate the charmless decays of excited P-wave charmonia $$\chi _{c1}^\prime \rightarrow VV$$ χc1′→VV and $$\chi _{c2}^\prime \rightarrow VP$$ χc2′→VP via intermediate charmed meson loops, where V and P denote the light vector and pseudoscalar mesons, respectively. Within the model parameters, the charmed meson loop contributions are evaluated by using the effective Lagrangian approach. For $$\chi _{c1}^\prime \rightarrow VV$$ χc1′→VV , the partial widths of the $$\rho \rho $$ ρρ , $$\omega \omega $$ ωω , and $$K^*{\bar{K}}^*$$ K∗K¯∗ channels can reach to the order of MeV, while the partial width of the $$\phi \phi $$ ϕϕ channel is very small and in the order of keV. For $$\chi _{c2}^\prime \rightarrow V P$$ χc2′→VP , the partial widths of $$\chi _{c2}^{\prime } \rightarrow K^*\bar{K}+c.c$$ χc2′→K∗K¯+c.c turns out to be sizeable, while the partial widths of $$\chi _{c2}^{\prime } \rightarrow \rho ^+\pi ^- +c.c$$ χc2′→ρ+π-+c.c is found to be much smaller than the $$K^*\bar{K}+c.c$$ K∗K¯+c.c channel. Our calculations may be examined by the future BESIII experiments.

Abstract:The one-loop radiative corrections to the pure leptonic decay B-c-->l nu(l) are presented. We treat the infrared divergences appearing in the loop calculations together with those in the radiative decay B-c-->l nu(l)gamma. The divergences are finally canceled by each other to make the results finite. It is emphasized that the radiative decay may be separated properly from the pure leptonic decays. We can compare our results with the experimental measurements directly as long as the theoretical "softness" of the photon corresponds to the experimental resolutions. Furthermore with the nonrelativistic constituent quark model, the typical long distance contributions to the radiative decays are estimated, and it is shown that the contributions are negligible in comparison with the accuracy of one-loop corrections and the expected experimental measurements.
