Abstract:This paper is dedicated to the blow-up solution for the divergence Schrödinger equations with inhomogeneous nonlinearity (dINLS for short) \[i\partial_tu+\nabla\cdot(|x|^b\nabla u)=-|x|^c|u|^pu,\quad\quad u(x,0)=u_0(x),\] where $2-n<b<2$, $c>b-2$, and $np-2c<(2-b)(p+2)$. First, for radial blow-up solutions in $W_b^{1,2}$, we prove an upper bound on the blow-up rate for the intercritical dNLS. Moreover, an $L^2$-norm concentration in the mass-critical case is also obtained by giving a compact lemma. Next, we turn to the non-radial case. By establishing two types of Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequalities, we show the existence of finite time blow-up solutions in $\dot{H}^{s_c}\cap \dot{W}^{1,2}_b$, where $\dot{H}^{s_c}=(-\Delta)^{-\frac{s_c}{2}}L^2$, and $\dot{W}_b^{1,2}=|x|^{-\frac{b}{2}}(-\Delta)^{-\frac{1}{2}}L^2$. As an application, we obtain a lower bound for this blow-up rate, generalizing the work of Merle and Raphaël [Amer. J. Math. 130(4) (2008), pp. 945-978] for the classical NLS equations to the dINLS setting.

Abstract:We study the phenomenon of finite time blow-up in solutions of the homogeneous Dirichlet problem for the parabolic equation ut=div(a(x,t)|∇u|p(x)−2∇u)+b(x,t)|u|σ(x,t)−2u with variable exponents of nonlinearity p(x),σ(x,t)∈(1,∞). Two different cases are studied. In the case of semilinear equation with p(x)≡2, a(x,t)≡1, b(x,t)≥b−>0 we show that the finite time blow-up happens if the initial function is sufficiently large and either minΩσ(x,t)=σ−(t)>2 for all t>0, or σ−(t)≥2, σ−(t)↘2 as t→∞ and ∫1∞es(2−σ−(s))ds<∞. In the case of the evolution p(x)-Laplace equation with the exponents p(x), σ(x) independent of t, we prove that every solution corresponding to a sufficiently large initial function exhibits a finite time blow-up if b(x,t)≥b−>0, at(x,t)≤0, bt(x,t)≥0, minσ(x)>2 and maxp(x)≤minσ(x).

Abstract:Abstract We consider the higher-order semilinear parabolic equation $$\begin{array}{} \displaystyle \partial_t u = -(-{\it\Delta})^{m} u + u|u|^{p-1}, \end{array}$$ in the whole space R N , where p > 1 and m ≥ 1 is an odd integer. We exhibit type I non self-similar blowup solutions for this equation and obtain a sharp description of its asymptotic behavior. The method of construction relies on the spectral analysis of a non self-adjoint linearized operator in an appropriate scaled variables setting. In view of known spectral and sectorial properties of the linearized operator obtained by Galaktionov [15], we revisit the technique developed by Merle-Zaag [23] for the classical case m = 1, which consists in two steps: the reduction of the problem to a finite dimensional one, then solving the finite dimensional problem by a classical topological argument based on the index theory. Our analysis provides a rigorous justification of a formal result in [15].

Abstract:This paper deals with the blow-up properties and asymptotic behavior of solutions to a semilinear integrodifferential system with nonlocal reaction terms in space and time. The blow-up conditions are given by a variant of the eigenfunction method combined with new proper-ties on systems of differential inequalities. At the same time, the blow-up set is obtained. For some special cases, the asymptotic behavior of the blow-up solution is precisely characterized.

Abstract:In this paper we prove Krylov's boundary gradient type estimates (and regularity) for solutions to fully nonlinear differential inequalities with unbounded coefficients and quadratic growth on the gradient with C-1,C-dini boundary data. This means that drift coefficients and the right-hand side (RHS) are in L-q with q > n. We also show that in the case the RHS is in L' the result does not hold and solutions may fail to be even Lipschitz in (tiny) neighborhoods of the boundary. Our approach is based on a new improvement of flatness argument together with an iteration process based on scaling arguments and perturbation by linear functions. Our results can be seen as an extension of the corresponding ones obtained in [L. Silvestre and B. Sirakov, Comm. Partial Differential Equations, 39 (2014), pp. 1694-1717] in the case of bounded coefficients and no quadratic term.

Abstract:In this paper, we revisit the problem of finite-time blowup for a multi-dimensional nonlocal transport equation studied in [Dong, Adv. Math. 264 (2014) 747-761]. Inspired by a one-dimensional analogous model considered in [Li-Rodrigo, Adv. Math. 374 (2020) 1-26], we establish a new weighted nonlinear inequality implying the blow-up by a completely real variable based technique.

Abstract:We study the H1 blow-up profile for the inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation i∂tu=−Δu−|x|k|u|2σu,(t,x)∈R×RN, where k∈(−1,2N−2) and N≥3 . We develop a new version of Gagliardo–Nirenberg inequality for σ∈[2+kN,2+kN−2] and k∈(−1,2N−2) , and show that for the L2 -critical exponent σ=2+kN , u(t) has no L2 -limit as t→T∗ when ‖u(t)‖H1 blows up at T∗ . Moreover, we investigate L2 concentration at the origin in the radial case. Additionally, if 2+kN<σ , we show that there exists a unique u∗∈L2(RN) such that Γ(−t)u(t)→Γ(−T∗)u∗inLr(RN) ( r∈[2,2∗) ) as t→T∗ . Our results extend the work for k=0 by F. Merle in earlier time.

Abstract:We study the blow-up problem of one-dimensional nonlinear heat equations. Our result shows that for a certain class of initial conditions, the solutions blow up in finite time and we characterize the asymptotic dynamics of these solutions. The approach is analogous to one used in bifurcation theory and our techniques can be regarded as a time-dependent version of the Lyapunov-Schmidt decomposition.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the nonlinear Sobolev type equations on the Heisenberg group. We show that the problems do not admit nontrivial local weak solutions, i.e. "instantaneous blow up" occurs, using the nonlinear capacity method. Namely, by choosing suitable test functions, we will prove an instantaneous blow up for any initial conditions $u_0,\,u_1\in L^q(\mathbb{H}^n)$ with $q\leq \frac{Q}{Q-2}$.

Abstract:We consider a nonlinear fractional boundary value problem involving conformable variable-order derivative with Dirichlet conditions. We prove the existence of solutions to the considered problem by using the upper and lower solutions’ method with Schauder’s fixed-point theorem. In addition, under some assumptions on the nonlinear term, a new Lyapunov-type inequality is given for the corresponding boundary value problem. The obtained inequality provides a necessary condition for the existence of nontrivial solutions to the considered problem and a method to prove uniqueness for the nonhomogeneous boundary value problem. These new results are illustrated through examples.

Abstract:In this paper we are concerned with the boundedness of solutions of some nonlinear differential equations, which are neither dissipative nor conservative, having the formx″+(x, t)x′+g(x, t)=0, wherefandgare odd polynomials inxwith coefficients which are even and periodic int. Using the KAM theory for reversible systems, we prove that all the solutions are bounded whenever a sharp condition on the degrees offandgis satisfied. We also obtain a boundedness result whenf(x, t)≡0 (i.e., the equation is conservative), under some smoothness assumptions ongwhich improve the previously known ones. In this case, no symmetry conditions ongare needed.
