Abstract:Studies the optimal guaranteed control problem for a class of linear uncertain time-delay systems. The systems under consideration are described by state differential equations with time-varying unknown but norm-bounded uncertain parameters and time-varying unknown but bounded delay in states. An upper bound of the performance measured by standard quadratic function is constructed and based on the delay-dependent stabilizing approach, a method of designing a state feedback robust quadratic stabilizing control law guaranteeing this quadratic performance index be less than the constructed upper bound is derived. A procedure is given to select an optimal state feedback controller in the sense of minimizing this upper bound of the quadratic performance index. The results depend on the size of delay and are given in terms of several linear matrix inequalities

Abstract:The stochastic averaging method for quasi-integrable Hamiltonian systems with time-delayed feedback bang-bang control is first introduced. Then, two time delay compensation methods, namely the method of changing control force amplitude (CFA) and the method of changing control delay time (CDT), are proposed. The conditions applicable to each compensation method are discussed. Finally, an example is worked out in detail to illustrate the application and effectiveness of the proposed methods and the two compensation methods in combination.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a class of optimal feedback control for a neutral fractional system with hemivariational inequalities. Initially, we derive some existence results of mild solutions for the system by applying the Marteli's fixed point theorem of multivalued maps, properties of generalized Clarke's subdifferential and semigroup operators. Then, by using the Filippov theorem and the Cesari property, a new set of sufficient conditions are formulated to ensure the existence results of a feasible pair for the feedback control systems. Also, we apply our main results to obtain the optimal feedback control pair. Further, we investigate the time-optimal feedback control for our control system. In the end, an example is given to illustrate our theory.

Abstract:The objective of this paper is to investigate the existence of mild solutions and optimal controls for a class of stochastic Hilfer-Katugampola fractional differential inclusions (SHKFDIs) with non-instantaneous impulsive (NIIs) that is strengthened by Brownian motion (BM) and the Clarke sub-differential. First, we establish a new set of sufficient conditions for the existence of mild solutions of the aforementioned fractional systems by using stochastic analysis, the Clarke sub-differential's characteristics, and the multi-valued fixed point theorem. Subsequently, by employing Balder's theorem, the existence of optimal control pairs for the considered system is investigated. Eventually, an example is provided to validate the obtained results.

Abstract:A stochastic minimax optimal time-delay state feedback control strategy for uncertain quasi-integrable Hamiltonian systems is proposed. First, a stochastic optimal state feedback control problem of uncertain quasi-integrable Hamiltonian system with time delay in feedback control subjected to Gaussian white noise is formulated. Then, the time-delayed state feedback control forces are approximated by the control forces without time delay and the original problem is converted into a stochastic optimal state feedback control problem of an uncertain system without time delay. After that, by following a procedure based on the stochastic averaging method and stochastic differential game, the worst-case disturbances and the optimal controls are obtained from solving a Hamiltonian–Jacobi–Isaacs (HJI) equation. As an example, the stochastic minimax optimal state feedback control of a Duffing oscillator with parametric disturbances and time-delayed feedback control is worked out in detail to illustrate the procedure and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Abstract:In this paper, a finite-horizon optimal control problem involving a dynamical system described by a linear Caputo fractional differential equation and a quadratic cost functional is considered. An explicit formula for the value functional is given, which includes a solution of a certain Fredholm integral equation. A step-by-step feedback control procedure for constructing -optimal controls with any accuracy is proposed. The basis for obtaining these results is the study of a solution of the associated Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman equation with so-called fractional coinvariant derivatives.

It is shown that essential infimum of the H∞ norm of the closed-loop transfer function over all static stabilizing state-feedback laws can be completely characterized via a Fractional-order Algebraic Riccati Equation (FARE). Accordingly, the state-feedback H∞ optimal controller design can be performed by iteratively solving an FARE.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, our focus is on exploring the relative controllability of systems governed by linear fractional differential equations incorporating state delay. We introduce a novel counterpart to the Cayley-Hamilton theorem. Leveraging a delayed perturbation of the Mittag-Leffler function, along with a determining function and an analog of the Cayley-Hamilton theorem, we establish an algebraic Kalman-type rank criterion for assessing the relative controllability of fractional differential equations with state delay. Moreover, we articulate necessary and sufficient conditions for relative controllability criteria concerning linear fractional time-delay systems, expressed in terms of a new $$\alpha $$ α -Gramian matrix and define a control which transfer the system from any initial state to any final state within a given time. The theoretical findings are exemplified through the presentation of illustrative examples.

In this work, we study the stability of fractional-order linear difference equations under feedback. The stability results are derived for an arbitrary feedback time $\tau$. We study the cases of $\tau=1$ and $\tau=2$ in further detail. The extension to the stability of fixed points under feedback for nonlinear fractional order difference equations with fixed points $ x_{*}=0$ is also carried out.

Abstract:This article is concerned with the guaranteed cost control problem for a class of fractional‐order (FO) uncertain delayed linear systems with norm‐bounded time‐varying parametric uncertainty. Based on whether the states are available or not, guaranteed‐cost state‐based feedback stabilization and guaranteed‐cost observer‐based feedback stabilization for such system are addressed, respectively. By employing the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach and FO Razumikhin theorem, two delay‐independent guaranteed cost controller design methods and their guaranteed costs are first formulated, respectively, in which sufficient conditions of the state feedback and observer gains are presented in form of LMI. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical formulation.

Abstract:Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, Ahead of Print. The boundary control problem of fractional ordinary differential equations coupled with a time fractional reaction–advection–diffusion equation with delay is studied in this paper. To ensure the asymptotic stability of the system we studied, a state feedback boundary controller is proposed. By backstepping method, we transform the fractional coupled system into a chosen target system under a controller. Furthermore, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of the state solution of the considered system. A Lyapunov functional is constructed to show the asymptotic stability of the fractional coupled system by the special fractional Halanay inequality. The asymptotic stability criterion of the fractional coupled system is described by Linear Matrix Inequalities (LIMs). Which can be easily solved and verified. Finally, the applicability of our theoretical results is showed by a numerical simulation.

Abstract:This paper deals with the time-optimal control problem for a class of fractional order systems. An analytic solution of the time-optimal problem is proposed, and the optimal transfer route is provided. Considering it is usually adopted in the discrete situation for actual control system, the sampling date may induce chattering phenomenon, an alternative sub-optimal solution is constructed. Additionally, the special and meaningful application of fractional order tracking differentiator is introduced to explain our main results. The effectiveness and advantages of the proposed method have been illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract:The purpose of this article is to introduce the original results which devoted with the nonlinear control system problems involves of nonlinear differential equations of fractional orders. Thus, this system is described with a mixed of ordinary derivatives in the first and second order that, are unstable before feedback gain. More precisely, we investigate and analysis the nonlinear control system in related to feedback gain matrix. In addition, we prove that the considered system is locally asymptotically stabilizable via certain conditions. Then, this work reinforce through some application examples that programmed for illustrating and showing the stabilizability of the current systems with high efficiency and accuracy.

Abstract:We consider optimal control of fractional in time (subdiffusive, i.e., for $% 0<\gamma <1$) semilinear parabolic PDEs associated with various notions of diffusion operators in an unifying fashion. Under general assumptions on the nonlinearity we{~\textsf{first show}} the existence and regularity of solutions to the forward and the associated {\textsf{backward (adjoint)}} problems. In the second part, we prove existence of optimal {\textsf{controls% }} and characterize the associated {\textsf{first order}} optimality conditions. Several examples involving fractional in time (and some fractional in space diffusion) equations are described in detail. The most challenging obstacle we overcome is the failure of the\ semigroup property for the semilinear problem in any scaling of (frequency-domain) Hilbert spaces.

Abstract:This paper considers the problem of output feedback control for fractional-order time-delay systems with input delays. First, in terms of the fractional order state predictor, the fractional-order time-delay system is changed to the fractional-order system without time-delay; then the output feedback controller is designed. Finally, stability analysis and the existence of the corresponding output feedback controller criteria are proposed based on Reciprocal Projection Lemma and linear matrix inequality techniques. Our aim is to design an output feedback controller which ensures the asymptotical stability of the closed-loop system. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of our design approach.

Abstract:This work investigates the solvability of the generalized Hilfer fractional inclusion associated with the solution set of a controlled system of minty type–fuzzy mixed quasi-hemivariational inequality (FMQHI). We explore the assumed inclusion via the infinite delay and the semi-group arguments in the area of solid continuity that sculpts the compactness area. The conformable Hilfer fractional time derivative, the theory of fuzzy sets, and the infinite delay arguments support the solution set's controllability. We explain the existence due to the convergence properties of Mittage–Leffler functions (Eα,β), that is, hatching the existing arguments according to FMQHI and the continuity of infinite delay, which has not been presented before. To prove the main results, we apply the Leray–Schauder nonlinear alternative thereom in the interpolation of Banach spaces. This problem seems to draw new extents on the controllability field of stochastic dynamic models.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the quasi-uniform synchronization (Q-US) issues of discrete fractional fuzzy neural networks (DFFNNs) with time delays. Firstly, we analyze the neural network systems with fuzzy time delays in discrete cases, complementing the neglected factors in the current literatures. Secondly, we use discrete fractional calculus including discrete Hölder inequality, discrete Gronwall inequality, and the discrete Lyapunov functional method to enrich the discrete system analysis. In addition, to acquire the Q-US, the designed delay feedback controller has the advantage of handling complex time delays to promote the response of the system. Moreover, the obtained results presented as direct linear matrix inequalities are efficiently verified by the simulation example.

Abstract:This work carefully revisits the topic of dynamic feedback H∞ control problem for discrete singular systems (DSSs) with time–varying delays. A new state decomposed Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is presented by a discrete state decomposition method. For the unforced nominal DSSs, delay–dependent sufficient conditions with an H∞ performance index are derived. Based on these conditions, a closed–loop system being regular and causal is developed via a dynamic feedback controller. As a new discrete state decomposition–reorganization method is proposed, the required admissibility conditions are attained. Through the accurate calculation of each decomposition component of the dynamic feedback controller, the desired dynamic feedback controller settings are determined. The numerical findings demonstrate the superiority of our method over earlier approachers, and the results are less conservative.

Abstract:The current paper initially studies the optimal control of linear $\psi$-Hilfer fractional derivatives with state-dependent control constraints and optimal control for a particular type of cost functional. Then, we investigate the approximate controllability of the abstract fractional semilinear differential inclusion involving $\psi$-Hilfer fractional derivative in reflexive Banach spaces. It is known that the existence, uniqueness, optimal control, and approximate controllability of fractional differential equations or inclusions have been demonstrated for a similar type of fractional differential equations or inclusions with different fractional order derivative operators. Hence it has to research fractional differential equations with more general fractional operators which incorporate all the specific fractional derivative operators. This motivates us to consider the $\psi$-Hilfer fractional differential inclusion. We assume the compactness of the corresponding semigroup and the approximate controllability of the associated linear control system and define the control with the help of duality mapping. We observe that convexity is essential in determining the controllability property of semilinear differential inclusion. In the case of Hilbert spaces, there is no issue of convexity as the duality map becomes simply the identity map. In contrast to Hilbert spaces, if we consider reflexive Banach spaces, there is an issue of convexity due to the nonlinear nature of duality mapping. The novelty of this paper is that we overcome this convexity issue and establish our main result. Finally, we test our outcomes through an example.
