Abstract:One of the most popular methods of controlling dynamical systems is feedback. It can be used without acquiring detailed knowledge of the underlying system. In this work, we study the stability of fractional-order linear difference equations under feedback. The stability results are derived for an arbitrary feedback time $\tau$. We study the cases of $\tau=1$ and $\tau=2$ in further detail. The extension to the stability of fixed points under feedback for nonlinear fractional order difference equations with fixed points $ x_{*}=0$ is also carried out.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problem that this paper attempts to solve is the stability problem of controlling fractional - order difference equations. Specifically, the author has studied the stability of fractional - order linear difference equations and their nonlinear cases under feedback control. The paper pays special attention to systems with a delay time \( \tau \) and analyzes in detail the cases where \( \tau = 1 \) and \( \tau = 2 \). In addition, the author also explores how to stabilize or destabilize the fixed points of fractional - order systems through feedback control. ### Main research contents 1. **Stability of fractional - order difference equations**: - The stability of fractional - order linear difference equations under different delay times \( \tau \) has been studied. - The stability conditions for any delay time \( \tau \) have been derived. 2. **Application of feedback control**: - Through the feedback control method, how to control the fixed points of fractional - order difference equations has been studied. - The influence of feedback control on the system stability has been analyzed, especially for the cases where \( \tau = 1 \) and \( \tau = 2 \). 3. **Extension to nonlinear systems**: - The stability results have been extended to nonlinear fractional - order difference equations, and the stability of the fixed point \( x^* = 0 \) has been studied. ### Specific problems - **Stability analysis**: - For \( \tau = 1 \), the author has derived the stability boundary curve and divided it into multiple regions, each of which corresponds to different stability behaviors. - For \( \tau = 2 \), the author has found five boundary curves, which divide the parameter space into multiple regions, each of which corresponds to different stability behaviors. - **Numerical verification**: - Through numerical simulation, the correctness of the theoretical analysis has been verified, and the system behaviors under different parameter values have been demonstrated. ### Mathematical tools - **Z - transform**: It is used to handle the stability analysis of discrete systems. - **Characteristic equation**: The system stability is determined through the characteristic equation. - **Matrix representation**: The fractional - order difference equation is converted into a matrix form for easy analysis. ### Conclusions - Through strict mathematical derivations and numerical simulations, the author has proved the effectiveness of feedback control in stabilizing fractional - order difference equations. - Specific stability conditions and boundary curves are provided, which provide a theoretical basis for practical applications. ### Application prospects - **Control system design**: The research results can be applied to various systems that require precise control, such as robotic arms, drones, etc. - **Biology and medicine**: Fractional - order difference equations can be used to model biological systems with memory characteristics, such as disease - spread models. - **Engineering and physics**: In fields such as materials science and seismology, fractional - order models can describe the dynamic behaviors of systems more accurately.
