Abstract:量子多体计算方法,包括精确对角化、量子蒙特卡洛、密度矩阵与张量重正化、动力学平均场等传统方法,以及结合人工智能、量子计算等新兴计算方法,被发展用于精确高效地计算关联多体系统的物理性质。在非微扰的相互作用多体系统中,粒子之间通常存在强的关联与量子纠缠,基于平均场理论的计算方法往往不够精准甚至可靠,需要不断发展新的多体计算方法,以便准确地研究如关联费米子系统、阻挫自旋系统中的新奇物态与演生规律。近年来,多体计算与多体理论、机器学习、材料科学、量子模拟与量子计算等领域不断互动与融合,呈现出越来越丰富的学科交叉特点。本文对量子多体计算的历史脉络、主要方法及现状,以及未来发展的挑战进行概述。

Abstract:随着计算机技术的不断进步,我国高性能计算机的计算能力逐渐向E级计算水平迈进,为我国计算物理的发展提供坚实的硬件支撑。然而,具有我国自主知识产权计算软件世界占有率低,且功能单一,无法满足当前的高性能计算需求。为提升我国在计算物理领域的核心竞争力,迫切需要发展原创的计算方法,进而开发出具有我国自主知识产权的计算物理软件系统,解决我国核心计算软件依赖国外引进的问题。本文简要介绍计算物理方法和软件的国内外发展现状, 并探讨我国计算物理软件研发中所面临的困难和可能的解决方案。我们希望通过本文抛砖引玉,为国产计算物理软件的发展提供一些参考建议。

Abstract:Since the Maxwell equations were proposed in the 19th century, computational electromagnetics has experienced a hundred years of steady development, and has developed finite difference method, finite element method, method of moments and other numerical algorithms and high-frequency approximate methods, becoming a vital cornerstone of modern electron and information engineering. In recent years, artificial intelligence technology has experienced vigorous development, and at the same time, due to its strong modeling and inferential capability ability, it has emerged in the electromagnetic field, giving birth to the emerging of intelligent electromagnetic computing, which has attracted many outstanding scientific researchers. Many excellent achievements have sprung out in the fields of electromagnetic modeling and simulation, analysis and synthesis of new electromagnetic materials and devices, detection and perception and so on, which have injected fresh blood into the electromagnetics. This paper discusses some recent advances in intelligent electromagnetic computing to help readers get started and grasp the latest information and results in this field.

Abstract:When the simulation and optimization of large-scale chemical processes is wede,the computational time is enormous because of the large scale of the system.Along with the rapid progress of computer science and techniques,utilizing parallel computing techniques to improve the efficiency of chemical process simulation and optimization has become a remarkable hot spot.The present paper reviews significant researches reported on parallel computing techniques applied in chemical process simulation and optimization.The researches of parallel computing in chemical process simulation and optimization are mainly aimed at solving a large sparse system of linear equations.The researches reviewed are classified into simulation and optimization of chemical processes.Finally thoughts about future research challenges are offered.

Abstract:As the fundamental theory of strong interactions, quantum chromodynamics (QCD) plays a crucial role in precision tests of the standard model (SM) and in the search for new physics. In this article, we provide a brief overview of recent progress in QCD studies relevant to collider physics, focusing on fixed-order calculations and resummation techniques, parton distribution functions and their calculations, as well as their impact on the search for new physics, SM precision tests, and studying the intrinsic properties of hadrons. Based on this, we also discuss the prospects of their applications and intersections with other disciplines in the future.

Abstract:In recent years, compute-in-memory (CIM) has been extensively studied to improve the energy efficiency of computing by reducing data movement. At present, CIM is frequently used in data-intensive computing. Data-intensive computing applications, such as all kinds of neural networks (NNs) in machine learning (ML), are regarded as 'soft' computing tasks. The 'soft' computing tasks are computations that can tolerate low computing precision with little accuracy degradation. However, 'hard' tasks aimed at numerical computations require high-precision computing and are also accompanied by energy efficiency problems. Numerical computations exist in lots of applications, including partial differential equations (PDEs) and large-scale matrix multiplication. Therefore, it is necessary to study CIM for numerical computations. This article reviews the recent developments of CIM for numerical computations. The different kinds of numerical methods solving partial differential equations and the transformation of matrixes are deduced in detail. This paper also discusses the iterative computation of a large-scale matrix, which tremendously affects the efficiency of numerical computations. The working procedure of the ReRAM-based partial differential equation solver is emphatically introduced. Moreover, other PDEs solvers, and other research about CIM for numerical computations, are also summarized. Finally, prospects and the future of CIM for numerical computations with high accuracy are discussed.

Abstract:Magnetics, ferroelectrics and multiferroics have attracted great attentions because they are not only extremely important for investigating fundamental physics, but also have important applications in information technology. Here, recent computational studies on magnetism and ferroelectricity are reviewed. We first give a brief introduction to magnets, ferroelectrics, and multiferroics. Then, theoretical models and corresponding computational methods for investigating these materials are presented. In particular, a new method for computing the linear magnetoelectric coupling tensor without applying an external field in the first principle calculations is proposed for the first time. The functionalities of our homemade Property Analysis and Simulation Package for materials (PASP) and its applications in the field of magnetism and ferroelectricity are discussed. Finally, we summarize this review and give a perspective on possible directions of future computational studies on magnetism and ferroelectricity.

Abstract:Computational physics, which is parallel to experimental and theoretical physics, plays an indispensable role in the development of contemporary physics. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and quantum computing, computational science, especially computational physics, is fostering a significant transformation in research paradigms and urgently needs to be given high priority in the national science and technology development strategies. In recognition of this, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has added a new application code "A2015 Computational Physics". This article aims to briefly introduce the background and process of this new setup, and to discuss its funding implications and key research areas. Through this article, we hope to help researchers stay abreast of the latest developments in the setup of physics subject codes, update personal information in the NSFC application system, and effectively carry out project applications.

Abstract:Recent advances in improving the computational efficiency of the phase-field simulations of solidification microstructures are reviewed. The parallel progress of four typical approaches, namely, multigrid, adaptive mesh refinement method, semi-implicit Fourier spectral method, and graphical processing units (GPUs) architecture, is highlighted. Large-scale spatiotemporal simulations are successfully performed to cover essential aspects of multiphysics with the capability of these algorithms. Focus is put on the principles, applications, and comparison of the four algorithms, while solidification theories and discretization methods are outlined.
