Abstract:Cornea is considered a rare primary site for neoplasms, but it can be involved secondarily in a wide spectrum of pigmented and non‐pigmented ocular surface tumours. Although the gold standard diagnostic technique is excisional biopsy, non‐invasive imaging modalities offer a diagnostic alternative to biopsy by providing high‐resolution cross‐sectional images of the ocular surface. Traditionally corneal neoplasms have been treated with surgical excision. However, recurrence rates after surgery can be high and extended or repeated surgeries may lead to scarring and/or limbal stem cell deficiencies, thus non‐surgical treatment options have been used increasingly.
