Abstract:We establish the unique existence of a strong solution to a Dirichlet problem involving a second-order elliptic operator in Hardy spaces. The strong solution also enjoys a regularity estimate in Hardy quasi-norms up to the second-order derivatives.

Abstract:We prove a weak Harnack estimate for a class of doubly nonlinear nonlocal equations modelled on the nonlocal Trudinger equation \begin{align*} \partial_t(|u|^{p-2}u) + (-\Delta_p)^s u = 0 \end{align*} for $p\in (1,\infty)$ and $s \in (0,1)$. Our proof relies on expansion of positivity arguments developed by DiBenedetto, Gianazza and Vespri adapted to the nonlocal setup. Even in the linear case of the nonlocal heat equation and in the time-independent case of fractional $p-$Laplace equation, our approach provides an alternate route to Harnack estimates without using Moser iteration, log estimates or Krylov-Safanov covering arguments.

Abstract:We study weak Harnack inequality and a priori Hölder regularity of harmonic functions for symmetric nonlocal Dirichlet forms on metric measure spaces with volume doubling condition. Our analysis relies on three main assumptions: the existence of a strongly local Dirichlet form with sub-Gaussian heat kernel estimates, a tail estimate of the jump measure outside balls and a local energy comparability condition. We establish the robustness of our results, ensuring that the constants in our estimates remain bounded, provided that the order of the scale function appearing in the tail estimate and local energy comparability condition, maintains a certain distance from zero. Additionally, we establish a sufficient condition for the local energy comparability condition.

Abstract:The convergence problem of the family of the deformed Euler–Halley iterations with parameters for solving nonlinear operator equations in Banach spaces is studied. Under the assumption that the second derivative of the operator satisfies the Hölder condition, a convergence criterion of the order 2+p of the iteration family is established. An application to a nonlinear Hammerstein integral equation of the second kind is provided.

Abstract:We deal with boundary value problems for second-order nonlinear elliptic equations in divergence form, which emerge as Euler-Lagrange equations of integral functionals of the Calculus of Variations built upon possibly anisotropic norms of the gradient of trial functions. Integrands with non polynomial growth are included in our discussion. The $W^{1,2}$-regularity of the stress-field associated with solutions, namely the nonlinear expression of the gradient subject to the divergence operator, is established under the weakest possible assumption that the datum on the right-hand side of the equation is a merely $L^2$-function. Global regularity estimates are offered in domains enjoying minimal assumptions on the boundary. They depend on the weak curvatures of the boundary via either their degree of integrability or an isocapacitary inequality. By contrast, none of these assumptions is needed in the case of convex domains. An explicit estimate for the constants appearing in the relevant estimates is exhibited in terms of the Lipschitz characteristic of the domains, when their boundary is endowed with Hölder continuous curvatures.

Abstract:In this paper we obtain a new global gradient estimates in weighted Lorentz spaces for weak solutions of p(x)-Laplacian type equation with small BMO coefficients in a δ-Reifenberg flat domain. The modified Vitali covering lemma, the maximal function technique and the appropriate localization method are the main analytical tools. Our results improve the known results for such equations.

Abstract:By methods of stochastic analysis on Riemannian manifolds, we develop two approaches to determine an explicit constant $c(D)$ for an $n$-dimensional compact manifold $D$ with boundary such that $\frac{\lambda}{n}\,\|\phi\|_{\infty} \leq \|{\rm Hess}\ \phi\|_{\infty}\leq c(D)\lambda \,\|\phi\|_{\infty}$ holds for any Dirichlet eigenfunction $\phi$ of $-\Delta$ with eigenvalue $\lambda$. Our results provide the sharp Hessian estimate $\|{\rm Hess}\ \phi\|_{\infty}\lesssim \lambda^{\frac{n+3}{4}}$. Corresponding Hessian estimates for Neumann eigenfunctions are derived in the second part of the paper.

Abstract:We derive local boundedness estimates for weak solutions of a large class of second order quasilinear equations. The structural assumptions imposed on an equation in the class allow vanishing of the quadratic form associated with its principal part and require no smoothness of its coefficients. The class includes second order linear elliptic equations as studied by D. Gilbarg and N. S. Trudinger [1998] and second order subelliptic linear equations as studied by E. Sawyer and R. L. Wheeden [2006 and 2010]. Our results also extend ones obtained by J. Serrin [1964] concerning local boundedness of weak solutions of quasilinear elliptic equations.

Abstract:In this note, we prove interior a priori first‐ and second‐order estimates for solutions of fully nonlinear degenerate elliptic inequalities structured over the vector fields of Carnot groups, under the main assumption that u is semiconvex along the fields. These estimates for supersolutions are new even for linear subelliptic inequalities in nondivergence form, whereas in the nonlinear setting they do not require neither convexity nor concavity on the second derivatives.
