Abstract:Abstract Writing is an important part of English, and it is one of the abilities of communication that students must need. However, there are many problems in the writing process. The students and teachers do not pay much attention to the English writing, and the college school students’ writing is not so good. Scaffolding teaching is a specific teaching method based on the Constructivist Theory. The author applied the Scaffolding teaching method to the teaching of English writing in College for six weeks. The author tries to test whether scaffolding method stimulates students’ interest in writing, and improve students’ proficiency in English writing.

Abstract:English vocabulary and lexical collocation and use are the basic manifestations of college students' English proficiency and ability. This paper puts forward the application of computer corpus software to the college vocabulary teaching. Through the definition of probability, application prospect and theoretical explanation, this paper expatiates on the process of computer corpus serving college English vocabulary teaching. With English national corpus (BNC) as the software basis, we conducted an empirical research on vocabulary teaching. Finally, the differences between computer corpus teaching and traditional vocabulary teaching are analyzed and discussed through experimental comparison. The experimental results show that the computer corpus based collage English vocabulary practice is of larger breadth, deeper depth and higher initiative in vocabulary learning.
An Error Analysis of English Non-finite Verbs Misused by Chinese College Non-English Major Learners

Abstract:This is a corpus-based study of errors of English non-finite verbs committed by Chinese college non-English major learners.In the study,the error frequencies of English non-finite verbs between two sub-corpora of CLEC have been compared.Through classification and analysis,the sources of errors of English non-finite verbs have been found out,which include hypercorrection,false analogy,misanalysis,literal translation and teacher talk.

Abstract:In China, College English is a required basic course for undergraduate students, and the objective of College English teaching is to improve students’ ability to use English in an all-round way. The author maintains that in order for students to exchange information effectively, they must be first of all equipped with the right tools for communication—vocabulary. The author observes that vocabulary is the biggest obstacle for most college students, who have learned the basic patterns and structures of English in their middle school, but their vocabulary size is very limited. It follows that greater importance should be attached to vocabulary in College English teaching.The author believes that, in the current Chinese EFL teaching context, adopting the Lexical Approach to College English teaching is a practicable and effective way to improve students’ ability in using English. In order to verify this idea, the author conducted an empirical study, which lasted 16 weeks. The findings support the author’s hypotheses that college students do need explicit and systematic instructions on vocabulary learning, and that adopting the Lexical Approach to College English teaching is effective in enhancing students’ lexical knowledge and improving their ability in using English. It is hoped that the study will shed some light on the question of how to teach College English effectively to meet the previously mentioned objective.

Abstract:Vocabulary is the basic unit of language. Without vocabulary, there will be no language materials and grammar, let alone com munication. Based on the Situational Language Teaching method, taking junior college students as majors, a teaching experiment was car ried out to explore the effectiveness of the Situational Language Teaching method in improving students'vocabulary acquisition ability. The results show that the application of SLT in vocabulary teaching can improve students’vocabulary acquisition ability.

Abstract:With the deep integration of information technology and education, mobile learning software has been more and more recognized by the majority of university teachers and students because it is not limited by space and time. Based on the mental representation and development process of English vocabulary acquisition, the paper discusses how learners, with the assistance of APP English learning software, realize the transition from the formal stage and L1 lemma mediation stage to L1-L2 integration of semantic, syntax, lexical and formal information. Finally, this paper proposes the strategies of mobile micro-learning teaching of college English vocabulary from three aspects: the transition from vocabulary recognition to in-depth vocabulary development, semantic network construction, chunk awareness, and chunk ability.

Abstract:Vocabulary, as one of the most difficult problems for students and teachers, is also one of the most important elements in traditional teaching. This thesis is based on the problems existing in traditional vocabulary teaching and under the guidance of the mobile learning theory, the constructivism theory and the humanism theory. This thesis researches the application of intelligent Learning APP in Junior English vocabulary teaching .The research shows that the application of intelligent Learning APP, as one of the products of modern science and technology, is applied in Junior English vocabulary teaching. It effectively combines after-class teaching with in-class teaching, pays attention to students' individuality, improves teachers' teaching quality and reduces teaching pressure. The application of intelligent Learning APP has made up for the shortcomings of traditional teaching, stimulated students' interest in learning and made the teaching process more interesting.

Abstract:In order to improve the quality of college English vocabulary teaching, this paper studies the application of mobile technology in college English vocabulary teaching. The advantages of mobile technology are analyzed, and different mobile technology communication deployment schemes are determined according to different needs and environments of English vocabulary learning, so as to build a college English vocabulary teaching system, which is mainly composed of the user layer, mobile network layer, and English vocabulary data layer. Among them, the main functions of the user layer are user login, system information setting, English vocabulary resource browsing, uploading English vocabulary homework, etc., and determine user preference data through user logs. The mobile network layer is designed using mobile technology to create the delay control technique of the system mobile communication, and the system mobile network layer’s LAN is set up to increase data transmission speed. Finally, set up the database according to the English vocabulary of English words field, calculating Euclidean distance to determine the relationship between them, and then through random set classification vocabulary data types, calculate the similarity degree of the data extraction vocabulary data characteristics and remove high similarity of the English vocabulary data to reduce the difficulty of system storage. The experimental findings suggest that the mobile technology-based system has high performance and dependability and may be widely used in practice.

Abstract:This paper aims to analyze the application strategies of Cognitive Linguistics in English vocabulary teaching. In the 1970s and 1980s, Cognitive Linguistics emerged as a prominent theoretical framework, providing new theoretical support for English teaching. This paper first introduces the basic concepts and principles of Cognitive Linguistics. Then, it discusses how Cognitive Linguistics can be applied to promote vocabulary acquisition, including the use of prototype, conceptual metaphor and image schema. Based on the literature review and analysis, this paper further examines the significance of context and collocation in vocabulary learning. Finally, it summarizes the advantages and challenges of the application of Cognitive Linguistics in English vocabulary teaching. This paper highlights the significant role of Cognitive Linguistics in vocabulary teaching and provides new insights and methods for future English teaching.

Abstract:Language is the result of human cognition and words are derived from human experience. Embodied philosophy brings rich implications for vocabulary teaching in college classroom. The research aims to analyzes the potential strategies of teaching vocabulary on the basis of experiential view of language. At the level of vocabulary teaching, teacher can improve students’ vocabulary memory effect from the motivations of physical experience, environmental experience and cultural experience behind vocabulary. At the level of morphology teaching, teacher can focus on explaining the formation of words regulated by cultural experience based on the experiential perspective to help students master the formation mechanism of words. These strategies are argued to be effective in improving students’ vocabulary proficiency.

Abstract:Vocabulary plays an essential role in foreign language learning, and it is the same with Chinese students’ learning English. However, in China traditional ways of English vocabulary learning focuses on the recitation and analysis of the sound, spelling and meaning of English words without considering their cognitive motivations and thus makes understanding and memorization of them invalid and boring, which directly affects Chinese students’ English level of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Therefore, some effective methods of English vocabulary learning must be found so as to arouse students’ interests and facilitate their learning of English words. Conceptual metaphor theory reveals that metaphor is not only a universal cognitive phenomenon but also a cognitive tool of human beings, which can shed some lights onto English words learning, a kind of cognitive activity. Conceptual metaphor theory also depicts cross-domain mapping as its working mechanism by saying that cross-domain mapping is a kind of thinking link from source domain to target domain. And this thinking link is of great help to the memorizing processes of words and understanding of words’ connotation and can make English vocabulary learning systematic and flexible. This paper explores the application of conceptual metaphor theory into college English vocabulary learning from three aspects, namely, polysemous words, idiomatic expressions and word connections, aiming at cultivating students’ metaphorical awareness and improving their metaphorical competence in vocabulary learning.
