Abstract:Let C be a linear binary code, namely a subspace of the space consisting of all binary vectors of a fixed length. A vector in C is maximal provided it has a maximal support among C; a nonzero vector in C is minimal provided it has a minimal support among C⧹{0}. We prove that the sum of all maximal vectors of C equals the sum of all minimal vectors of C. In course of this research, we introduce the concept of even poset and establish a duality result for it.

Abstract:A triply even code is a binary linear code in which the weight of every codeword is divisible by 8. We show how two doubly even codes of lengths m_1 and m_2 can be combined to make a triply even code of length m_1+m_2, and then prove that every maximal triply even code of length 48 can be obtained by combining two doubly even codes of length 24 in a certain way. Using this result, we show that there are exactly 10 maximal triply even codes of length 48 up to equivalence.

Abstract:This paper deals with linear codes invariant under an endomorphism that we call -codes. Since any endomorphism can be represented by a matrix when a basis is fixed, we shall, for simplicity, consider linear codes invariant under right multiplication by a square matrix , and we call them -codes. In particular, we distinguish three fundamental types: -cyclic codes, quasi -cyclic codes, and -multi-cyclic codes. The approach developed here allows us to realize cyclic codes and many of their generalizations as special cases. It also helps us better understand the structure of linear codes invariant under some special matrices, such as a permutation matrix or a monomial matrix. Next, we study the duality of -codes, where we show that the -dual of an -code is an -code, where represents the adjoint matrix of for a non-degenerate bilinear form , and we explore some important results on the duality of these codes. In order to use polynomial rings in the study of -codes, we establish a one-to-one correspondence between -codes and -submodules of where and is the sequence of invariant factors of . Finally, we investigate the structure of 1-generator -codes and provide BCH-like and Hartmann-Tzeng-like bounds for them. We construct optimal linear and new quantum codes by applying the method developed in this article.

Abstract:We define an abelian loop on a set $S$ consisting of 1 and all odd prime numbers with an operation $\bullet$, where for $a,b$ $\in$ $S$, $a$ $ \bullet$ $b$ is the smallest element of $S$ strictly larger than $|a-b|$. We use theorems and conjectures from number theory to prove properties of the loop and state analogous conjectures about the loop.

Abstract:In this article we mainly study linear codes over $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}$ and their binary subfield codes. We construct linear codes over $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}$ whose defining sets are the certain subsets of $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}^m$ obtained from mathematical objects called simplicial complexes. We use a result in LFSR sequences to illustrate the relation of the weights of codewords in two special codes obtained from simplical complexes and then determin the parameters of these codes. We construct fiveinfinite families of distance optimal codes and give sufficient conditions for these codes to be minimal.

The proof is based on a representation of the given linear code as a (generalized) algebraic-geometry code. Examples yielding many optimal linear codes document the power of this theorem.

Abstract:A linear graph code is a family C of graphs on n vertices with the property that the symmetric difference of the edge sets of any two graphs in C is also the edge set of a graph in C. In this article, we investigate the maximal size of a linear graph code that does not contain a copy of a fixed graph H . In particular, we show that if H has an even number of edges, the size of the code is O(2n2/logn) , making progress on a question of Alon. Furthermore, we show that for almost all graphs H with an even number of edges, there exists εH>0 such that the size of a linear graph code without a copy of H is at most 2n2/nεH .

Abstract:Linear codes have been an interesting subject of study for many years, as linear codes with few weights have applications in secrete sharing, authentication codes, association schemes, and strongly regular graphs. In this paper, a class of linear codes with a few weights over the finite field GF(p) are presented and their weight distributions are also determined, where p is an odd prime. Some of the linear codes obtained are optimal in the sense that they meet certain bounds on linear codes.

Abstract:Cyclic codes are a subclass of linear codes and have wide applications in consumer electronics, data storage systems, and communication systems since they have e?cient encoding and decoding algorithms. In this paper, some trinomials over finite fields with even characteristic are employed to construct two classws of binary cyclic codes. Lower bounds on the minimum weight of some cyclic codes are developed. The dimensions of the codes obtained in this paper are flexible.

Abstract:Aydina and Halilović (Finite fields Appl. 45 (2017) 96-106) introduced multi-twisted codes and studied some of their basic properties. Let be a finite commutative -algebra. An -linear code over of length is an -submodule of . Recently, Mahmoudi et al. (Finite fields Appl. 64 (2020) 101665) studied -linear codes over -algebras. In this paper, we show that every -linear code is equivalent to a multi-twisted (MT) code. This gives us a new point of view in coding theory. In particular, we obtain a rich mathematical structure for linear codes.

Abstract:In this paper are defined cohomology-like groups that classify loop extensions satisfying a given identity in three variables for association identities, and in two variables for the case of commutativity. It is considered a large amount of identities. This groups generalize those defined in works of Nishigori [2] and of Jhonson and Leedham-Green [4]. It is computed the number of metacyclic extensions for trivial action of the quotient on the kernel in one particular case for left Bol loops and in general for commutative loops.

Abstract:This letter is concerned with incorrigible sets of binary linear codes. For a given binary linear code C, we represent the numbers of incorrigible sets of size up to [ 3/2 d-1] using the weight enumerator of C, where d is the minimum distance of C. In addition, we determine the incorrigible set enumerators of binary Golay codes G(23) and G(24) through combinatorial methods.

Abstract:In this article, we initiate an exploration of the algebraic structures within coding theory. Specifically, we focus on the potential for an ordered algebraic structure, known as a -algebra, within an arbitrary linear code . We demonstrate that any binary linear code of length , where is a positive integer, can be equipped with a BCI-algebra structure between its codewords. This structure is called -algebra over the code and denoted by -algebra. To establish this structure, we define an operation between the codewords and investigate its properties. Additionally, we introduce the concept of subcodes within a code and examine the relationship between these subcodes and the ideals of a -algebra over code . Furthermore, we define a binary relation among codewords and prove that code , under this relation—referred to as the -order—forms a partially ordered set. Lastly, we show that the generator matrix of a binary linear code contains the minimal codewords of with respect to the -order.

Abstract:Let $p$ be a prime, and $N$ be a positive integer not divisible by $p$. Denote by ${\rm ord}_N(p)$ the multiplicative order of $p$ modulo $N$. Let $\mathbb{F}_q$ represent the finite field of order $q=p^{{\rm ord}_N(p)}$. For $a, b\in\mathbb{F}_q$, we define a binomial exponential sum by $$S_N(a,b):=\sum_{x\in\mathbb{F}_q\setminus\{0\}}\chi(ax^{\frac{q-1}{N}}+bx),$$ where $\chi$ is the canonical additive character of $\mathbb{F}_q$. In this paper, we provide an explicit evaluation of $S_{N}(a,b)$ for any odd prime $p$ and any $N$ satisfying ${\rm ord}_{N}(p)=\phi(N)$. Our elementary and direct approach allows for the construction of a class of ternary linear codes, with their exact weight distribution determined. Furthermore, we prove that the dual codes achieve optimality with respect to the sphere packing bound, thereby generalizing previous results from even to odd characteristic fields.

Abstract:Let G=(V,E) be a simple graph with vertex set as V and edge set as E . Within the framework of graph-based binary coding, a graph G is a threshold graph if and only if it can be generated by a binary code of the type 0s11t1...0sk1tk , where si and ti are positive integers with 1≤i≤k . This type of binary code is called a binary generating code of G . In this paper, we address a problem originally posed by Harary and Schwenk in [10] titled "Which graphs have integral spectra?" in which the main focus of our investigations lies in the Seidel Laplacian spectrum of G generated by 0s11t1...0sk1tk . We establish that all eigenvalues of G are integers and multiplicities of eigenvalues are equal to powers of bits 0 and 1 (sizes of strings of 0's and 1's) involved in a binary generating code of G . We exhibit a necessary and sufficient condition in terms of eigenvalues of the matrix associated with a graph-based G binary code to be Seidel Laplacian integral. Furthermore, for any prime p , we explore the Seidel Laplacian spectrum of zero-divisor graphs associated with the ring Zpm (where m is a positive integer) and the polynomial ring Zp[x]/(xp) .

Abstract:Recently, linear codes with few weights have been widely studied, since they have applications in data storage systems, communication systems and consumer electronics. In this paper, we present a class of three-weight and five-weight linear codes over Fp, where p is an odd prime and Fp denotes a finite field with p elements. Abstract:Linear codes are the most important family of codes in cryptography and coding theory. Some codes have only a few weights and are widely used in many areas, such as authentication codes, secret sharing schemes and strongly regular graphs. By setting $ p\equiv 1 \pmod 4 $, we construct an infinite family of linear codes using two distinct weakly regular unbalanced (and balanced) plateaued functions with index $ (p-1)/2 $. Their weight distributions are completely determined by applying exponential sums and Walsh transform. As a result, most of our constructed codes have a few nonzero weights and are minimal.
