Abstract:We prove that the Gromov–Hausdorff limit of Kähler–Ricci flow on a G -spherical Fano manifold X is a G -spherical ℚ -Fano variety X_∞ , which admits a (singular) Kähler–Ricci soliton. Moreover, the G -spherical variety structure of X_∞ can be constructed as a center of torus ℂ^* -degeneration of X induced by an element in the Lie algebra of Cartan torus of G .

Abstract:We study the long-time behavior of the solution to the connection Ricci flow on closed three-manifolds. The connection Ricci flow is a generalization of the Ricci flow to connection with torsion. We compare the evolving metrics under the connection Ricci flow and Ricci flow for some special cases. We obtain the blow-up rate of the Ricci tensor under the connection Ricci flow. Based on the result, we give the classification of the maximal solutions to the flow.

Abstract:We consider the problem of conformally deforming a metric by a fully nonlinear flow on a compact manifold with totally geodesic boundary. We prove that the k-curvature defined by the modified Schouten tensor always can be deformed in a natural way to a constant at exponential rate and the boundary preserves totally geodesic.

Abstract:We first prove that a properly immersed static n-dimensional submanifold (Delta H = 0) with restricted growth of the curvature at infinity in Fn+p(c)(c >= 0) is totally umbilical if the Will more functional is pinched by a positive constant depending only on n. Secondly, we obtain a global rigidity theorem for Willmore surfaces in the sphere. Thirdly, we give a lower bound on the lifespan of the surface diffusion flow in Fn+p(c). Finally, we get the longtime existence and convergence of the surface diffusion flow in Fn+p(c) (c >= 0) under the small initial Willmore energy condition.

Abstract:We define a parabolic flow of pluriclosed metrics. This flow is of the same family introduced by the authors in [15]. We study the relationship of the existence of the flow and associated static metrics to topological information on the underlying complex manifold. Solutions to the static equation are automatically Hermitian-symplectic, a condition we define herein. These static metrics are classified on K3 surfaces, complex toroidal surfaces, nonminimal Hopf surfaces, surfaces of general type, and class VII+ surfaces. To finish, we discuss how the flow may potentially be used to study the topology of class VII+ surfaces.

Abstract:We observe that pluriclosed flow preserves Hermitian-symplectic structures. And we extend pluriclosed flow to a flow of Hermitian-symplectic forms by adding an extra evolution equation, which is determined by the (2, 0)-part of Bismut–Ricci form. Moreover, we obtain a topological obstruction to the existence of global solutions in every dimension.

Abstract:In Streets and Tian (2010) [1] the authors introduced a parabolic flow for pluriclosed metrics, referred to as pluriclosed flow. We also demonstrated in Streets and Tian (2010) (preprint) [2] that this flow, after certain gauge transformations, gives a class of solutions to the renormalization group flow of the nonlinear sigma model with B-field. Using these transformations, we show that our pluriclosed flow preserves generalized Kähler structures in a natural way. Equivalently, when coupled with a nontrivial evolution equation for the two complex structures, the B-field renormalization group flow also preserves generalized Kähler structure. We emphasize that it is crucial to evolve the complex structures in the right way to establish this fact.
Pluriclosed flow and the Hull-Strominger system

Abstract:We define a natural extension of pluriclosed flow aiming at constructing solutions of the Hull-Strominger system. We give several geometric formulations of this flow, which yield a series of a priori estimates for the flow and also for the Hull-Strominger system. The evolution equations are derived using the theory of string algebroids, a class of Courant algebroids which occur naturally in higher gauge theory. Using this, we interpret the flow as generalized Ricci flow and also as a higher/coupled version of Hermitian-Yang-Mills flow, proving furthermore that it is compatible with symmetry reduction. Regarding our main analytical results, we prove a priori $C^{\infty}$ estimates for uniformly parabolic solutions. This in particular settles the question of smooth regularity of uniformly elliptic solutions of the Hull-Strominger system, generalizing Yau's $C^3$ estimate for the complex Monge-Ampère equation. We prove global existence and convergence results for the flow on special backgrounds, and discuss a conjectural relationship of the flow to the geometrization of Reid's fantasy.

Furthermore, we exhibit this equation as the gradient flow of the lowest eigenvalue of a certain Schr\"odinger operator, and show the existence of an expanding entropy functional for this flow. Finally, we motivate a conjectural picture of the optimal regularity results for this flow, and discuss some of the consequences.

Abstract:We develop a framework inspired by Lauret's "bracket flow" to study the generalized Ricci flow, as introduced by Streets, on discrete quotients of Lie groups. As a first application, we establish global existence on solvmanifolds in arbitrary dimensions, a result which is new even for the pluriclosed flow. We also define a notion of generalized Ricci soliton on exact Courant algebroids that is geometrically meaningful and allows for non-trivial expanding examples. On nilmanifolds, we show that these solitons arise as rescaled limits of the generalized Ricci flow, provided the initial metrics have "harmonic torsion", and we classify them in low dimensions. Finally, we provide a new formula for the generalized Ricci curvature of invariant generalized metrics in terms of a moment map for the action of a non-reductive real Lie group.

Abstract:Recently, J. Streets and G. Tian introduced a natural way to evolve an almost-Kähler manifold called the symplectic curvature flow, in which the metric, the symplectic structure and the almost-complex structure are all evolving. We study in this paper different aspects of the flow on locally homogeneous manifolds, including long-time existence, solitons, regularity and convergence. We develop in detail two classes of Lie groups, which are relatively simple from a structural point of view but yet geometrically rich and exotic: solvable Lie groups with a codimension one abelian normal subgroup and a construction attached to each left symmetric algebra. As an application, we exhibit a soliton structure on most of symplectic surfaces which are Lie groups. A family of ancient solutions which develop a finite time singularity was found; neither their Chern scalar nor their scalar curvature are monotone along the flow and they converge in the pointed sense to a (non-Kähler) shrinking soliton solution on the same Lie group.

Abstract:Let $(M,g)$ be a compact manifold without conjugate points and with visibility universal covering. We show that its geodesic flow has a time-preserving expansive factor which is topologically mixing and has a local product structure. As an application, assuming further the so-called entropy-gap we prove the uniqueness of the measure of maximal entropy for the geodesic flow. For the other results we restrict our setting assuming furthermore the continuity of Green bundles and the existence of a hyperbolic closed geodesic. In this new context, we deduce that Green bundles are uniquely integrable and are tangent to the smooth leaves of the horospherical foliations. Moreover, we prove the above expansive factor acts on a compact topological manifold and its geodesic flow has a unique measure of maximal entropy which has full support.

Abstract:We present a complete classification of simply-connected pluriclosed manifolds with parallel Bismut torsion, extending previously known results in the literature. Consequently, we also establish a splitting theorem for compact manifolds that are both pluriclosed with parallel Bismut torsion and Calabi-Yau with torsion.

Abstract:We apply conformal flows of metrics restricted to the orthogonal distribution $D$ of a foliation to study the question: Which foliations admit a metric such that the leaves are totally geodesic and the mixed scalar curvature is positive? Our evolution operator includes the integrability tensor of $D$, and for the case of integrable orthogonal distribution the flow velocity is proportional to the mixed scalar curvature. We observe that the mean curvature vector $H$ of $D$ satisfies along the leaves the forced Burgers equation, this reduces to the linear Schrödinger equation, whose potential function is a certain "non-umbilicity" measure of $D$. On order to show convergence of the solution metrics $g_t$ as $t\to\infty$, we normalize the flow, and instead of a foliation consider a fiber bundle $\pi: M\to B$ of a Riemannian manifold $(M, g_0)$. In this case, if the "non-umbilicity" of $D$ is smaller in a sense then the "non-integrability", then the limit mixed scalar curvature function is positive. For integrable $D$, we give examples with foliated surfaces and twisted products.
