Abstract:During the operation of turbomachinery, there are sometimes sudden changes in some flow parameters, which in turn affect the cooling characteristics on the blade. It is also necessary to pay attention to the uniformity of η on turbine blades and its sensitivity to variations in flow conditions. Therefore, two different fan-shaped hole layouts (3-Row model and 5-Row model) with the same opening ratio of film holes are proposed for the study. The advantages and disadvantages of the two layouts are compared from the following three aspects: the magnitude and uniformity of the film cooling effectiveness and its sensitivity to changes in flow conditions. The cooling effectiveness sensitivity coefficient (CES) is proposed to analyze the fluctuation of η. It was also used to quantify the sensitivity of two cooling structure layouts to the Reynolds number (Re) and blowing ratio (M). The film holes are significantly more sensitive to the Reynolds number in the region with small streamwise pressure gradients than in the region with large streamwise pressure gradients. Under lower blowing ratios (M = 1.0), the fan-shaped hole in this region retains the best film cooling performance. The range of the hole-sensitive blowing ratio in the regions with low streamwise pressure gradient is smaller than that in the regions with large streamwise pressure gradient. 5-Row model is more susceptible to variation in flow parameters (Re and M) than 3-Row model. 3-Row model presents advantages in terms of the area-averaged η. However, 5-Row model is more advantageous in terms of the uniformity of the cooling effectiveness.
