Western scholars' study of ancient Greek sports

Abstract:Western scholars' studies of ancient Greek sports reflect different characteristics at different times.Studies at earlier stage focused on the origin and development of Greek sports.Since the mid-twentieth century studies have become more detailed.New theories and methods have been adopted into the researches.Achievements have been made,which contribute to the researches into the history of the western sports.They are hoped to be helpful to the archeological findings,literature collection and theoretical methodology of studying the history of the Chinese sports.
