On deepening the studies of the history of Western history

Abstract:Western history has experienced a long process since its origination in the times of ancient Greece, and the consideration of Western historians for the discipline itself started from the 16th century when the Renaissance was in its prime. From the first years of the 20th century, the studies of Western history also have gone through several phases. In methodology, the studies of Western history should lay stress on a dynamic research in the historical works, thoughts, schools, the tendency of times, etc. Meanwhile, the studies should attach importance to the comparative studies of the interaction between the Chinese history and Western history. Thus we could deepen our understanding and retrospection of Western history and society, and promote the development of Chinese history as a discipline in the whole.
