Abstract:In this paper, we consider the existence and multiplicity of solutions for the logarithmic Schrödinger equation on lattice graphs $\mathbb{Z}^N$ $$ -\Delta u+V(x) u=u \log u^2, \quad x \in \mathbb{Z}^N, $$ When the potential $V$ is coercive, we obtain infinitely many solutions by adapting some arguments of the Fountain theorem. In the cases of periodic potential, asymptotically periodic potential and bounded potential, we first investigate the existence of ground state solutions via the variation methods, and then we generalize these results from $\mathbb{Z}^N$ to quasi-transitive graphs. Finally, we extend the main results of the paper to the $p$-Laplacian equation with the logarithmic nonlinearity.

Abstract:We study the logarithmic Schrödinger equation with the sign-changing potential function. It is known that the corresponding functional is not well defined in <math>H1(RN)</math>, but by imposing some condition on V(x), we can show that the functional is well defined in a subspace of <math>H1(RN)</math>. Then, the existence and multiplicity of solutions is obtained by using variational methods. We remark that the existence of solutions is deeply influenced by the sign of Q(x).

Abstract:Let Ω be a finite connected subset of a locally finite graph G = (V, E) with the vertex set V and the edge set E. We investigate the logarithmic Schrödinger equation on Ω with the nonlinear term |u|p−2u log u2. For p > 2, through two different approaches which are the Brouwer degree theory and mountain-pass theorem, we obtain the existence of ground state solutions. We also apply the Brouwer degree theory together with the constraint variational method to prove that the equation admits a sign-changing solution which implies the multiplicity of solutions to the equation. Finally, we illustrate that as p → 2, up to a subsequence, the solutions for p > 2 shall converge to a non-trivial solution of the equation with p = 2.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the fractional logarithmic Schrödinger equation $$ (-\Delta)^{s} u+h(x) u=u \log u^{2} $$ on lattice graphs $\mathbb{Z}^d$, where $s\in (0,1)$. If $h(x)$ is a bounded periodic potential, we prove the existence of ground state solution by mountain pass theorem and Lions lemma. If $h(x)$ is a coercive potential, we show the existence of ground state sign-changing solutions by the method of Nehari manifold.

Using the Nehari method, we prove that when f satisfies some growth conditions and the potential function V is periodic or bounded, the above equation admits a ground state solution. Moreover, we extend our results from ℤ^N to quasi-transitive graphs.

Abstract:We study the logarithmic Schrödinger equation with finite range potential on $\mathbb{R}^{\mathbb{Z}^d}$. Through a ground-state representation, we associate and construct a global Gibbs measure and show that it satisfies a logarithmic Sobolev inequality. We find estimates on the solutions in arbitrary dimension and prove the existence of weak solutions to the infinite-dimensional Cauchy problem.

Abstract:We investigate the existence of bound state solutions for the logarithmic Schrödinger equation−Δu+V(x)u=ulog⁡u2inRN,N≥1, where V(x)∈C(RN) has a limit at infinity. In the case when the ground state is not attained, we construct a higher critical value for the variational functional. The classical variational methods cannot be applied directly to deal with the above problem due to nonsmoothness. To recover the smoothness, we use the superlinear power-law perturbation of the logarithmic nonlinearity.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider one dimensional lattices consisting of infinitely many particles with nearest neighbor interaction. The autonomous dynamical system is described by the following infinite system of second order differential equationsq¨i=Φi−1′(qi−1−qi)−Φi′(qi−qi+1),i∈Z, where Φi denotes the interaction potential between two neighboring particles and qi(t) is the state of the i-th particle. Supposing Φi is superquadratic at infinity, for all T>0, we obtain a nonzero T-periodic solution of finite energy which may be nonconstant in some range of period. If in addition Φi(x) is even in x, we also obtain infinitely many geometrically distinct solutions for any period T>0. In particular, a prescribed number of geometrically distinct nonconstant periodic solutions is obtained for some range of period. Since the functional associated to the above system is invariant under the actions of the non-compact group Z and the continuous compact group S1 under our assumptions, in order to prove our results, we need to extend the abstract critical point theorem about strongly indefinite functional developed by Bartsch and Ding [Math. Nachr. 279 (2006) 1267–1288] to a more general class of symmetry.
