Abstract:By means of the natural history of and with as a theme to broach, we can think metaphysical questions in double senses: The one kind is the epistemological metaphysics, based on the perceptual-rational-differentiate; it is related with the Zero as vacancy between numbers. Another kind is genetic metaphysics, based on the source-evolution-differentiate, it is related with the zero between negative and positive number. In this respect the zero represents a domain of metaphysic: We may infinitely approach it, but never achieve actually. The zero is polymerization-spot of all relations, also the starting-point of all relations, but it self does not have any determinable content. This is the essence of zero, also the essence of all metaphysic.

Abstract:For decades we have been searching for an answer to the knotty question, “do aliens exist?.” Other questions in line are: “where are they?,” “are they like us, sophisticated intelligent beings?” or “do they exist in the form of simpler lifeforms?,” “Have they ever visited us?,” “Why haven't we encountered them yet?,” “or have we?” To satiate this curiosity, astrophysicists and astronomers have come up with innumerable theories and ideas, engaged in building facilities and institutes and come up with a planet-wide effort for the search of extraterrestrial intelligence — SETI @ home. This article will take a ride through time, from the first documented idea to look for extraterrestrial beings to the current exploration of this field.

Abstract:If the universe is infinite now it has always been infinite. This is the opinion of many astronomers today as can be concluded from the following series of interviews, but the opinions differ much more than I had expected. Many astronomers do not have a clear opinion on this matter. Others have a clear opinion, but very different from the majority. Detailed arguments by two experts on general relativity are also included. Observations show that the universe is flat, i.e. the curvature is zero within the small uncertainty of measurements. This implies an infinite universe, though most probably we will never know that for certain. For comparison with the recent interviews, opinions during the past 2300 years since Aristotle about the universe being finite or infinite have been collected from literature, and it appears that the scientists often had quite definite opinions. \c{opyright} Anita Publications. Abstract:This essay argues that the contemporary media paradigm is defined by an infinite character and scale that emerge from the confluence of infinite-prone economic, technological, and cultural logics. Thus, it discusses the emergence, consolidation, and expansion of a state in which the media landscape and experience are assumed as practically infinite in its different dimensions, from the institutional to the cultural perspective. The argument of this article is based on the analysis of two cases: the deployment of an infinite production model in the media industry, particularly Hollywood; and the implementation of an infinite experience of approaching digital media, especially social media and streaming platforms. The essay maintains that the development of this clearly observable paradigm in media has granted the current possibility of having effectively infinite media and suggests that this propensity towards infinity in media could increase through the implementation of resources such as those offered by generative AI.

Fermi resonance-algebraic model for molecular vibrational spectra

Abstract:A Fermi resonance-algebraic model is proposed for molecular vibrations, where a U(2) algebra is used for describing the vibrations of each bond, and Fermi resonances between stretching and bending modes are taken into account. The model for a bent molecule XY_2 and a molecule XY_3 is successfully applied to fit the recently observed vibrational spectrum of the water molecule and arsine (AsH_3), respectively, and results are compared with those of other models. Calculations show that algebraic approaches can be used as an effective method for describing molecular vibrations with small standard deviations.

Abstract:Sequences diverge either because they head off to infinity or because they oscillate. Part 1 constructs a non-Archimedean framework of infinite numbers that is large enough to contain asymptotic limit points for non-oscillating sequences that head off to infinity. It begins by defining Archimedean classes of infinite numbers. Each class is denoted by a prototype sequence. These prototypes are used as asymptotes for determining leading term limits of sequences. By subtracting off leading term limits and repeating, limits are obtained for a subset of sequences called here ``smooth sequences". $\mathbb{I}_n$ is defined as the set of ratios of limits of smooth sequences. It is shown that $\mathbb{I}_n$ is an ordered field that includes real, infinite and infinitesimal numbers.

Abstract:In this article, we discuss the embodiment of infinity as one of fundamental concepts in mathematics. In contrast to the embodiment of many other mathematical concepts, the embodiment of infinity is an endless dynamic process. In embodying +∞, an object moves rightward toward a previously-set limit and passes it. Then, a new limit is set on the right side of the moving object. The moving object continues its movement and passes it as well. The moving object can pass any limit. In other words, there is no impassable limit for it. In embodying -∞, a similar process happens but the movement is leftward. Embodiment of infinitely small quantities has a basic similarity to the embodiment of infinitely large quantities, although it is different in some respects. We call the embodiment of infinity as iterative embodiment . It is iterative because the process of setting a new limit and passing it is repeated endlessly. Finally, it is suggested that in the process of embodying infinitely large and infinitely small quantities, the visual system and the motor system play important roles, as this process involves spatial concepts and movement.

Abstract:In this article, some classical paradoxes of infinity such as Galileo's paradox, Hilbert's paradox of the Grand Hotel, Thomson's lamp paradox, and the rectangle paradox of Torricelli are considered. In addition, three paradoxes regarding divergent series and a new paradox dealing with multiplication of elements of an infinite set are also described. It is shown that the surprising counting system of an Amazonian tribe, Pirahã, working with only three numerals (one, two, many) can help us to change our perception of these paradoxes. A recently introduced methodology allowing one to work with finite, infinite, and infinitesimal numbers in a unique computational framework not only theoretically but also numerically is briefly described. This methodology is actively used nowadays in numerous applications in pure and applied mathematics and computer science as well as in teaching. It is shown in the article that this methodology also allows one to consider the paradoxes listed above in a new constructive light.

After running multiple times into such cardinal quest, the curiosity became no more sustainable and we had to find out. To our greater surprise, in the last few decades we had been restlessly participating to this superhuman endevour. Therefore we hereby explore the roots and grounds of this fundamental search, through the past decades, centuries and millennia.

Abstract:"No Where to go but in" is a well known statement of Osho. Osho meant to say that the answers to all our questions should be obtained by looking into ourselves. In a paraphrase to Osho's statement we say "No Where to go but high". This meant to demonstrate that for various seemingly unrelated topics and questions the only way to get significant progress is via the prism of a new philosophy (new field) called high dimensional expansion. In this note we give an introduction \footnote{This introduction reflects the authors' interests and by no mean claim to represent the field in a through way} to the high dimensional expansion philosophy, and how it has been useful recently in obtaining progress in various questions in seemingly unrelated fields. This exposition is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Sarah Kaufman, who was always trying to understand the reason why things behave in a certain way. It is also dedicated to the memory of my father Eliezer Kaufman.

Abstract:In his Discourses and Mathematical Demonstrations Concerning to Two New Science(1638),Galileo states his view point about the infinity.We find it consists of four notions: 1) the substance was made up by infinitely non-quanta.2) the transition of quanta to non-quanta cannot be realized step by step by continued divisions but by the mathematical artifice.3) a non-quanta was equal to the infinitely non-quanta.4) the rules of finity differed from the infinity.These notions can show the method how Galileo explored the nature and also the early forms of modern mathematics.Moreover,Galileo's new science is little different to our science today.It relates the Galileo's purpose——seeking the real truth of the nature.

Abstract:In this article, we explore the notion of infinity by studying Cantor's contribution to this field. A brief history of set theory is given. As an example of infinity, we consider Hilbert's famous hotel. A graphical construction is used to demonstrate the countability of rationals. Cantor's diagonal procedure is explored, demonstrating that the infinity of real numbers is greater than that of integers. There is therefore a hierarchy of infinities, enabling us to elaborate on the continuum hypothesis, which remains an unsolved problem in mathematics.

Abstract:The mathematical study of infinity seems to have the ability to transport the mind to lofty and unusual realms. Decades ago, I was transported in this way by Rudy Rucker's book Infinity and the Mind. Despite much subsequent learning and teaching of mathematics in the service of physics and astronomy, there remained quite a few aspects of the "higher infinities" that I was still far from comprehending. Thus, I wanted to dive back in to understand those ideas and to find good ways to explain them to other non-specialists. These notes are an attempt to do this. They begin by discussing huge (but still describable) finite numbers, then they proceed to the concepts of fixed points, Cantor's countably infinite ordinals, transfinite cardinals and the continuum hypothesis, and then to more recent attempts to define still-larger infinities called large cardinals. I should warn the reader that the author is an astrophysicist, so these pedagogic explanations may not be satisfying (or anywhere nearly sufficiently rigorous) to a mathematician. Still, I hope these explanations provide some intuitive insights about concepts that are too large to fit in the physical universe.

Abstract:An positive answer is given to the question which is put forward in document [6].It is shown that the product of infinite infinitesimals∞Πk=1{x(k)n}∞n=1may not be infinitesimal because the speeds of the infinitesimals converging to zero are different, where for each positive integer k,｛x(k)n｝∞n=1 is used to denote the series whose limit is zero.To verify that ∞Πk=1{x(k)n}∞n=1 is the product of infinite infinitesimals, we only show that limn→∞｛x(k)n｝∞n=1=0 for each positive integer k and it is not necessary to consider whether the limit of the series {｛x(k)n｝∞n=1}∞k=1 is infinitesimal or not.Moreover, the sufficient conditions under which the product of infinite infinitesimals is infinitesimal or not are obtained.

Abstract:This paper looks at how ancient mathematicians (and especially the Pythagorean school) were faced by problems/paradoxes associated with the infinite which led them to juggle two systems of numbers: the discrete whole/rationals which were handled arithmetically and the continuous magnitude quantities which were handled geometrically. We look at how approximations and mixed numbers (whole numbers with fractions) helped develop the arithmetization of geometry and the development of mathematical analysis and real numbers.
