Abstract:Cyclohexanone diethyl acetal is widely used as pharmaceutical intermediates, and it may be pyrolyzed to give 1-ethoxy cyclohexene which could be used in synthesizing both polymer material and pharmaceutical intermediates. Cyclohexanone diethyl acetal was prepared from cyclohexanone with anhydrous ethanol as reactant, ammonium chloride as catalyst, triethyl orthoformate as water scavenger. The proposed method, which is preferable for green process, has many advantages such as the catalyst used is cheap and easily obtained, the post treatment of the process is convenient, the process has few industrial waste and high yield, etc. The suitable technical conditions were investigated in detail, which include the effects of catalyst, reaction time and reactants mole ratio on yield. The results indicate that 91.8% yield could be obtained with the following optimal reaction conditions: cyclohexanone weight 29.4 g (0.3 mol), the mole ratio of cyclohexanone and triethyl orthoformate 1:1.2, the mole ratio of cyclohexanone and anhydrous ethanol 1: 3, the reaction time 90 minutes, the amount of catalyst 0.006 mole, and reaction with reflux. The purity and structure of the product was examined by GC GC-MS and NMR.

Abstract:Asymmetric cyanation of a class of easily available olefins with a favorable cyanide source ethyl cyanoformate (CNCOOEt) was realized by an interesting modular catalyst. High yields and ee values were obtained for a range of substrates under solvent-free and mild reaction conditions. The products obtained could be easily transformed to the enantioenriched useful intermediates 5, 6, and pharmaceutically important gamma-aminobutyric acid 7.

Abstract:Abstract: The simple separation of magnetic nanocatalysts from the reaction mixture using only an external magnet caused a huge revolution in catalysis, particularly in organic synthesis. Diaryl ethers (compounds containing (Ar-O-Ar linkages) are one of the most important and prominent compounds and are widely found in natural products and pharmaceutical and biological molecules. The C-O cross-coupling or O-arylation reactions of aryl halides with aromatic alcohols, especially phenols, is an important and straightforward strategy for the preparation of diaryl ethers. Due to the high importance of diaryl ethers in the pharmaceutical, chemical and medical fields, many efforts have been made for the synthesis of diaryl ethers through C-O cross-coupling aryl halides with aromatic alcohols, especially phenols based on using non-magnetic reusable catalysts. In this review, we carefully reviewed the synthesis of diaryl ethers and discussed the reaction conditions and product yields in each method.

Abstract:A hypervalent iodine-reagent-based C-H functionalization strategy was utilized to synthesize diaryl ethers. This method directly transforms various arenes into their corresponding diaryliodonium salts, followed by a C-O coupling reaction to produce structurally diverse diaryl ethers. The efficacy of this approach in the late-stage structural modifications of complex molecules was demonstrated.

Abstract:In this reserch the multicomponent reaction of vinilydene aldehydes, ethyl 2‐amino‐4‐dioxo‐4‐arylbutanoates, and alkyl bromides was investigated and high yields products were produced. The primary objective of this study was to explore the synthesis of novel dihydrocyclopenta[b]pyrrole derivatives with a high degree of efficiency. The work utilized a nanocatalyst composed of Ag/Fe3O4@MWCNTs in a multicomponent reaction including vinilydene aldehydes, ethyl 2‐amino‐4‐dioxo‐4‐arylbutanoates, and alkyl bromides. The reaction was carried out in aqueous solution at ambient temperature, leading to the formation of novel chemicals. The produced compounds exhibit antioxidant activity as a result of the evaluation processes performed on their NH group. Furthermore, an evaluation was performed on the antibacterial effectiveness of newly produced pyridines using a disk diffusion technique, utilizing two different strains of Gram‐negative bacteria. Significantly, the substances that were evaluated shown inhibitory effects on the development of Gram‐positive bacteria as well. This method has several benefits, including quick response times, high product yields, and easy separation of catalyst and product through simple procedures.

Abstract:Diarylacetates are privileged structures of many bioactive natural products and pharmaceutical compounds. A time‐economical synthesis of diarylacetates by TfOH‐catalyzed arylation of α ‐aryl‐ α ‐diazoesters with arenes is described. This protocol provides a variety of diarylacetates in good yields with broad substrate scope, excellent functional group compatibility, and mild reaction conditions. Also, a new mechanism for the arylation reaction of α ‐aryl‐ α ‐diazoesters with arenes under TfOH catalysis is presented.

Abstract:We disclose a general catalytic enantioselective Diels–Alder reaction of exo-enones with dienes to give spirocyclanes. The obtained products feature highly congested quaternary stereogenic spirocenters and are used in concise total and formal syntheses of several sesquiterpenes, including of α-chamigrene, β-chamigrene, laurencenone C, colletoic acid, and omphalic acid. The stereo- and regioselectivities of our spirocyclizing cycloaddition are effectively controlled by strongly acidic and confined imidodiphosphorimidate catalysts. Computational studies shed light on the origin of reactivity and selectivity.This article has not yet been cited by other publications.

Abstract:Ketones are ubiquitous in bioactive natural products, pharmaceuticals, chemical feedstocks, and synthetic intermediates. Hence, deacylative coupling reactions enable the versatile elaboration of a plethora of chemicals to access complex drug candidates and natural products. Here, we present deacylative arylation and alkynylation strategies for the synthesis of a wide range of alkyl-tethered arenes and alkynes from cyclic ketones and methyl ketones under dual nickel/photoredox catalysis. This reaction begins by generating a pre-aromatic intermediate (PAI) through the condensation of the ketone and N ′-methylpicolino-hydrazonamide (MPHA), followed by the oxidative cleavage of the PAI α-C─C bond to form an alkyl radical, which is subsequently intercepted by a Ni complex, facilitating the formation of diverse C( sp 3 )–C( sp 2 )/C( sp ) bonds with remarkable generality. This protocol features a one-pot reaction capability, high regioselectivity and ring-opening efficiency, mild reaction conditions, and a broad substrate scope with excellent functional group compatibility.

Abstract:Aromatic abietane diterpenoids, known for their wide range of biological and pharmaceutical activities, have attracted considerable interest from synthetic and medicinal chemists. Although some aromatic abietane diterpenoids are naturally abundant, many are only available in limited quantities, constraining their use in detailed biological investigations. We initiated a project to synthesize these compounds, and as our first approach, we describe the formal synthesis of ferruginol methyl ether. Starting from tiglic aldehyde ( 6 ) and 2-bromo-5-methoxybenzoic acid ( 11 ), we synthesized the triene ( 3 ) in nine steps. The key transformation involved an acid-catalysed intramolecular Diels-Alder (IMDA) cyclisation of triene ( 3 ), leading to the formation of 12-methoxy-19-norpodocarpa-4(18),8,11,13-tetraene ( 14 ) as the primary product, with an overall yield of 17.3 % across ten steps. While the yield is modest, this approach provides a novel pathway for synthesizing abietane-type compounds. We are actively exploring strategies to improve the overall yield and developing an asymmetric synthesis variant.

Abstract:A new catalyst, poly( p -phenylenediamine) functionalized with copper nanoparticles stabilized on layered double hydroxide (LDH@poly( p -phenylenediamine)@CuI), was prepared. The structure of the new catalyst was identified and confirmed using different analyzes such as FESEM, EDX, XRD, TGA and elemental mapping. The efficiency of the mentioned catalyst was confirmed in the three-component one-pot synthesis of various derivatives of dihydropyrano[3,2-c]chromene in aqueous ethanol solvent. The structure of the synthesized products was confirmed using infrared spectrometry (FT-IR), nuclear magnetic resonance ( 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR) and Mass techniques. High yield of products, short reaction time, easy purification, reuse of catalyst, and the use of a soft reaction method can be considered as the main advantages of this method. Additionally, this catalyst was recycled four times without a significant loss of catalytic power.

Abstract:An efficient method of selective b-arylation of oxime ethers was realized by using a palladium catalyst with diaryliodonium salts as the key arylation reagents. The reaction proceeded smoothly through the activation of inert C(sp)–H bonds to give corresponding ketones and aldehydes. This convenient procedure can be successfully applied to construct new C(sp)–C(sp) bonds on a number of complex molecules derived from natural products and thus serves as a practical synthetic tool for direct late-stage C(sp)–H functionalization.

Abstract:Diaryl sulfides play an important role in the synthesis of natural products, pharmaceutically and biologically molecules. The metal catalysts are powerful tools for C–S bonds formation. Despite the utility of palladium-catalyzed carbon–sulfur bond formation, copper complexes are fascinating catalysts for this transformation because copper is less toxic and inexpensive than palladium. In recent times, a large number of protocols using various copper catalysts to perform cross-coupling reactions leading to the synthesis of diaryl sulfides have been described. In this review, we summarized recent developments in the area of synthesis of diaryl sulfides based on using copper catalysts. Both the considerable advantages and drawbacks of these protocols are discussed.

Abstract:Ether derivatives have myriad applications in several areas of chemical industry and academia. Hence, the development of more effective and sustainable protocols for their production is highly desired. Among the different methodologies reported for ether synthesis, catalytic reductive alcohol etherifications with carbonyl-based moieties (aldehydes/ketones and carboxylic acid derivatives) have emerged in the last years as a potential tool. These processes constitute appealing routes for the selective production of both symmetrical and asymmetrical ethers (including O-heterocycles) with an increased molecular complexity. Likewise, ester-to-ether catalytic reductions and hydrogenative alcohol etherifications with CO2 to dialkoxymethanes and other acetals, albeit in less extent, have undergone important advances, too. In this Review, an update of the recent progresses in the area of catalytic reductive alcohol etherifications using carbonyl-based compounds and CO2 have been described with a special focus on organic synthetic applications and catalyst design. Complementarily, recent progress made in catalytic acetal/ketal-to-ether or ester-to-ether reductions and other related transformations have been also summarized.

Abstract:Aromatic hydroxylation reactions catalyzed by heme-thiolate enzymes proceed via an epoxide intermediate. These aromatic epoxides could be valuable building blocks for organic synthesis giving access to a range of chiral trans-disubstituted cyclohexadiene synthons. Here, we show that naphthalene epoxides generated by fungal peroxygenases can be subjected to nucleophilic ring opening, yielding non-racemic trans-disubstituted cyclohexadiene derivates, which in turn can be used for further chemical transformations. This approach may represent a promising shortcut for the synthesis of natural products and APIs.This article has not yet been cited by other publications.
