Abstract:In this study, a series of high-precision integrated ceramic membranes were successfully fabricated in one step by photopolymerization three-dimensional (3D) printing. These integrated ceramic membranes are double-layer membranes consisting of separation and support layers. As the separation layer, a series of microsized patterns is made on the surface, including wavy, half-cylindrical, and triangular lines. The support layer is composed of evenly distributed micron pores. By adjusting the dye content of the slurry and the optical power density of the printer, a high-resolution precision model is printed. The sintered integrated ceramic membranes are characterized by morphological, X-ray diffraction, and pore size distribution analyzes. The half-cylindrical membrane is used to treat an oil-in-water emulsion containing 100 mg/L oil to obtain 82% oil rejection. The Supporting Information is available free of charge at <a class="ext-link" href="/doi/10.1021/acs.iecr.1c02224?goto=supporting-info">https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.iecr.1c02224</a>.Magnified photographs of the size of the patterned membrane; schematic drawing of the cross-flow microfiltration apparatus; and schematic diagram of the ceramic membrane sintering process (word) (<a class="ext-link" href="/doi/suppl/10.1021/acs.iecr.1c02224/suppl_file/ie1c02224_si_001.pdf">PDF</a>)This article has not yet been cited by other publications.
