Abstract:We study the entanglement of entangled coherent states in vacuum environment by employing the entanglement of formation and propose a scheme to probabilistically teleport a coherent superposition state via entangled coherent states. The mean fidelity of the scheme is then investigated and the optimal amplitude of the teleported state found.

Abstract:Local kinetic and chemical equilibration is studied for Au+Au collisions at 10.7 AGeV in the microscopic Ultrarelativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics model (UrQMD). The UrQMD model exhibits dramatic deviations from equilibrium during the high density phase of the collision. Thermal and chemical equilibration of the hadronic matter seems to be established in the later stages during a quasi-isentropic expansion, observed in the central reaction cell ($S/A=S/A=s/\rho_B ~\cong~$ 12). At latest stages of the reactions (of order of 10 fm/c) the hadron energy spectra in the cell are nicely reproduced by Boltzmann distributions with a common rapidly dropping temperature. Hadron yields change drastically and at the late expansion stage follow closely those of an ideal gas statistical model. The detailed comparison with the UrQMD box calculations for infinite equilibrated matter is done. It also shows that the system in the central zone reaches the equilibrium at late stages of the reaction. The equation of state seems to be simple at late times: $P\cong0.12\epsilon$ which coincides with Shuryak predictions for the resonance gas. The contribution of the strange particles into the total energy density of the system in the central region of the reaction seems to be of order of 1-3 % (strange particle density in the central zone is negligibly small e.g. $\rho_S=0.008$). The time evolution of other thermodynamical variables in the cell is also presented.

Abstract:Quantum teleportation is the name of a problem: how can the real-valued parameters encoding the state at Alice's location make their way to Bob's location via shared entanglement and only two bits of classical communication? Without an explanation, teleportation appears to be a conjuring trick. Investigating the phenomenon with Schrödinger states and reduced density matrices shall always leave loose ends because they are not local and complete descriptions of quantum systems. Upon demonstrating that the Heisenberg picture admits a local and complete description, Deutsch and Hayden rendered its explanatory power manifest by revealing the trick behind teleportation, namely, by providing an entirely local account. Their analysis is re-exposed and further developed.

Size and scaling in ideal polymer networks

Abstract:The scattering function and radius of gyration of an ideal polymer network are calculated depending on the strength of the bonds that form the crosslinks. Our calculations are based on an {\it exact} theorem for the characteristic function of a polydisperse phantom network that allows for treating the crosslinks between pairs of randomly selected monomers as quenched variables without resorting to replica methods. From this new approach it is found that the scattering function of an ideal network obeys a master curve which depends on one single parameter $x= (ak)^2 N/M$, where $ak$ is the product of the persistence length times the scattering wavevector, $N$ the total number of monomers and $M$ the crosslinks in the system. By varying the crosslinking potential from infinity (hard $\delta$-constraints) to zero (free chain), we have also studied the crossover of the radius of gyration from the collapsed regime where $R_{\mbox{\tiny g}}\simeq {\cal O}(1)$ to the extended regime $R_{\mbox{\tiny g}}\simeq {\cal O}(\sqrt{N})$. In the crossover regime the network size $R_{\mbox{\tiny g}}$ is found to be proportional to $(N/M)^{1/4}$.

Abstract:In this work we provide a genuine relativistic quantum teleportation protocol whose classical communication component makes use of relativistic causal propagation of a quantum field. Consequently, the quantum teleportation is fully relativistic by construction. Our scheme is based on Unruh-DeWitt qubit detector model, where the quantum state being teleported is associated to an actual qubit rather than a field mode considered by Alsing and Milburn [PRL 91, 180404 (2003)]. We show that the existing works in (relativistic) quantum information, including good definitions of one-shot and asymptotic channel capacities, as well as algebraic formulation of quantum field theory, already provide us with all the necessary ingredients to construct fundamentally relativistic teleportation protocol in relatively straightforward manner.

Abstract:We study the teleportation scheme performed by means of a partially entangled pure state. We found that the information belonging to the quantum channel can be distributed into both the system of the transmitter and the system of the receiver. Thus, in order to complete the teleportation process it is required to perform an "unambiguous non-orthogonal quantum states discrimination" and an "extraction of the quantum information" processes. This general scheme allows one to design a strategy for concealing the unknown information of the teleported state. Besides, we showed that the teleportation and the "concealing the quantum information" process, can be probabilistically performed even though the bipartite quantum channel is maximally entangled.

Abstract:The concept of interferometric teleportation is reported. Also, based on this concept, a quantum secure communication protocol is proposed. Higher efficiency and rate are achieved by the proposed protocol in comparison with the original teleportation‐based protocol. The security of the proposed scheme is based on the principles of both quantum mechanics and special relativity. The paper introduces the concept of interferometric quantum teleportation. Based on this concept, a quantum secure communication (QSC) protocol, operating in a single‐photon regime is proposed. The proposed protocol is characterized with higher efficiency and data rate than its original counterpart, namely, the teleportation‐based quantum secure communication (T‐QSC). The proposal is verified to be secure. Its security relies on both quantum (polarization of qubits) and relativistic (speed of light) restrictions. The relativistic restriction is possible due to the use of an interferometric quantum channel, like the relativistic quantum key distribution.

Abstract:In this study, a new version of the quantum teleportation protocol is presented, which does not require a Bell state measurement (BSM) module on the sender side (Alice), a unitary transform to reconstruct the teleported state on the receiver side (Bob), neither a disambiguation process through two classic bits that travel through a classic disambiguation channel located between sender and receiver. The corresponding theoretical deduction of the protocol, as well as the experimental verification of its operation for several examples of qubits through implementation on an optical table, complete the present study. Both the theoretical and experimental outcomes show a marked superiority in the performance of the new protocol over the original version, with more simplicity and lower implementation costs, and identical fidelity in its most complete version.

Abstract:A quantum communication architecture is being developed for long-distance, high-fidelity qubit teleportation. It uses an ultrabright narrowband source of polarization-entangled photons, plus trapped-atom quantum memories, and it is compatible with long-distance transmission over standard telecommunication fiber. This paper reports error models for the preceding teleportation architecture, and for an extension thereto which enables long-distance transmission and storage of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states. The use of quantum error correction or entanglement purification to improve the performance of these quantum communication architectures is also discussed.

Abstract:Quantum teleportation(1) is central to quantum communication, and plays an important role in a number of quantum computation protocols(2,3). Most information-processing applications of quantum teleportation include the subsequent manipulation of the qubit (the teleported photon), so it is highly desirable to have a teleportation procedure resulting in high-quality, freely flying qubits. In our previous teleportation experiment(4), the teleported qubit had to be detected (and thus destroyed) to verify the success of the procedure. Here we report a teleportation experiment that results in freely propagating individual qubits. The basic idea is to suppress unwanted coincidence detection events by providing the photon to be teleported much less frequently than the auxiliary entangled pair. Therefore, a case of successful teleportation can be identified with high probability without the need actually to detect the teleported photon. The experimental fidelity of our procedure surpasses the theoretical limit required for the implementation of quantum repeaters(5,6).

Abstract:Counter-intuitively, quantum mechanics enables quantum particles to propagate simultaneously among multiple space-time trajectories. Hence, a quantum information carrier can travel through different communication channels in a quantum superposition of different orders, so that the relative time-order of the communication channels becomes indefinite. This is realized by utilizing a quantum device known as quantum switch. In this paper, we investigate, from a communication-engineering perspective, the use of the quantum switch within the quantum teleportation process, one of the key functionalities of the Quantum Internet. Specifically, a theoretical analysis is conducted to quantify the performance gain that can be achieved by employing a quantum switch for the entanglement distribution process within the quantum teleportation with respect to the case of absence of quantum switch. This analysis reveals that, by utilizing the quantum switch, the quantum teleportation is heralded as a noiseless communication process with a probability that, remarkably and counter-intuitively, increases with the noise levels affecting the communication channels considered in the indefinite-order time combination.

Efficient quantum circuits for port-based teleportation

Abstract:Port-based teleportation (PBT) is a variant of quantum teleportation that, unlike the canonical protocol by Bennett et al., does not require a correction operation on the teleported state. Since its introduction by Ishizaka and Hiroshima in 2008, no efficient implementation of PBT was known. We close this long-standing gap by building on our recent results on representations of partially transposed permutation matrix algebras and mixed quantum Schur transform. We construct efficient quantum algorithms for probabilistic and deterministic PBT protocols on $n$ ports of arbitrary local dimension, both for EPR and optimized resource states. We describe two constructions based on different encodings of the Gelfand-Tsetlin basis for $n$ qudits: a standard encoding that achieves $\widetilde{O}(n)$ time and $O(n\log(n))$ space complexity, and a Yamanouchi encoding that achieves $\widetilde{O}(n^2)$ time and $O(\log(n))$ space complexity, both for constant local dimension and target error. We also describe efficient circuits for preparing the optimal resource states.

Abstract:Teleportation of quantum gates is a critical step for the implementation of quantum networking and teleportation-based models of quantum computation. We report an experimental demonstration of teleportation of the prototypical quantum controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate. Assisted with linear optical manipulations, photon entanglement produced from parametric down-conversion, and postselection from the coincidence measurements, we teleport the quantum CNOT gate from acting on local qubits to acting on remote qubits. The quality of the quantum gate teleportation is characterized through the method of quantum process tomography, with an average fidelity of 0.84 demonstrated for the teleported gate.
Asymptotic teleportation schemes bridging between standard and port-based teleportation

Abstract:Various modified quantum teleportation schemes are proposed to overcome experimental constraints or to meet specific application requirements for quantum communication. Hence, most schemes are developed and studied with unique methodologies, each with its inherent challenges. Our research focuses on interconnecting these schemes appearing to be unrelated to each other, based on the idea that the unique advantages of one scheme can compensate for the limitations of another. In this paper, we introduce an asymptotic teleportation scheme requiring the receiver to perform a classical selection task followed by a quantum correction. This scheme bridges standard teleportation with port-based teleportation through the transformation of joint measurements. Specifically, we categorize and analytically investigate protocols within this scheme for qubit systems. Given that linear optics teleportation protocol without ancilla qubits is contained in the two non-trivial groups, we provide a novel perspective on its expansion. Furthermore, we discuss the potential application of a protocol from one of these groups as a universal programmable processor and extend these protocols to higher-dimensional systems while maintaining the same properties and potential, providing the analytic form of the joint measurement and its performance. These results thereby propose new avenues for developing a quantum network in higher-dimensional systems.

Abstract:Quantum teleportation has been introduced by Benett et al. and dis cussed by a number of authors in the framework of the singlet state. Recentl y, a rigorous formulation of the teleportation problem of arbitrary quantum states by means of quantum channel was given in [IOS] based on the general c hannel theoretical formulation of the quantum gates introduced in [OW]. In t his note we discuss a generalization of the scheme proposed in [IOS] and we give a general method to solve the teleportation problem in spaces of arbitr ary finite dimensions.

Abstract:Quantum Candies or Qandies provide us with a lucid way of understanding the concepts of quantum information and quantum science in the language of candies. The critical idea of qandies is intuitively depicting quantum science to the general public, making sense as most of the research in this domain is funded by the taxpayers. The qandies model is already used to explain the essential concepts of quantum science and quantum cryptography. However, teleportation and related concepts are yet to be explained. Motivated by this fact, we investigate and extend the idea of Jacobs and Lin-Mor-Shapira to explain teleportation using qandies. Here, we explicitly design the teleportation protocol and perform a circuit model using qandy gates. The protocol is successful when the correlated qandies are appropriately pre-shared and use of some local operations at both ends. The model we develop can be a valuable tool for science and engineering educators who want to help the general public to gain more insights into quantum science and technology.
