Abstract:We study the entanglement of entangled coherent states in vacuum environment by employing the entanglement of formation and propose a scheme to probabilistically teleport a coherent superposition state via entangled coherent states. The mean fidelity of the scheme is then investigated and the optimal amplitude of the teleported state found.

Abstract:We introduce photon-added entangled coherent states (unnormalized) : and investigate the entanglement by employing the entropy of entanglement. Then, we propose a scheme of probabilistic teleportation via photon-added entangled coherent states. It is shown that the mean fidelity of the scheme can be increased by exciting entangled coherent states in the case of nonmaximally entangled quantum channel. The violation of the Clauser–Horne–Shimony–Holt inequality for photon-added entangled coherent states is also examined.

Abstract:Controlled quantum teleportation of superposed coherent states using GHZ entangled 3-mode coherent states is studied. Proposed scheme can be implemented experimentally using linear optical components such as a symmetric lossless beam splitter, two phase-shifters and two photon counters. Fidelity is found close to unity for appreciable mean number of photons in coherent states and is 0.99 for mean photon number equal to two.

Abstract:We propose a scheme for teleporting an unknown atomic state. In order to realize the teleportation to any node ina quantum communication network, an n-atom Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state is needed, which is utilizedas the quantum channel. From this n-atom GHZ state, two-node entanglement of processing and receiving teleportedstates can be obtained through the quantum logic gate manipulation. Finally, for the unequally weighted GHZ state,probabilistic teleportation is shown.

Abstract:Quantum teleportation scheme is undoubtedly an inspiring theoretical discovery as an amazing application of quantum physics,which was experimentally realized several years later.For the purpose of quantum commu-nication via this scheme,an entangled ancillary pair shared by Alice and Bob is the essential ingredient,and a quantum memory in Bob's system is necessary for him to keep the quantum state until the classical message from Alice arrives.Yet,the quantum memory remains a challenge in both technology and rationale.Here we show that quantum teleportation provides fresh perspectives in terms of an alternative scheme for global positioning system.Referring to fixed locations of Bob and Charlie,Alice can determine her relative position by comparing quantum states before and after teleporting around via Bob and Charlie successively.This may open up a new scene in the stage of the application of quantum physics without quantum memories.

Abstract:International Journal of Quantum Information, Ahead of Print. In order to explore multi-directional quantum communication in a three-dimensional (3D) system, five-, seven- and [math]-qutrit entangled states are constructed by 3D-Hadamard gates and 3D-controlled-NOT gates in this paper. Then a new scheme of controlled bidirectional quantum teleportation (QT) via five-qutrit entangled channel is proposed, where two observers can exchange their unknown single-qutrit states at the same time under the control of the supervisor. Along this mental, we propose a novel theoretical scheme to fulfil four-party controlled cyclic QT by using a seven-qutrit entangled state as the quantum channel, in which Alice can teleport an arbitrary unknown single-qutrit state to Bob, Bob can transmit an arbitrary single-qutrit state to Charlie, at the same time, Charlie can also teleport an arbitrary unknown single-qutrit state to Alice with the permission of the supervisor. In these schemes, only specific two-qutrit 3D-Bell state measurements, single-qutrit 3D-Z-basis measurements and suitable 3D-Weyl operators are needed, which can be implemented in physics easily. Moreover, the proposed four-party controlled cyclic scheme can be generalized into the case containing [math] ([math]) observers by using a [math]-qutrit entangled channel. Analysis shows that the success probability of our schemes can reach 1. Through detailed discussion, we find that the security of our schemes and the control power of the supervisors can be guaranteed, and the intrinsic efficiency of the proposed schemes is relatively high.

Abstract:Teleportation of quantum gates is a critical step for the implementation of quantum networking and teleportation-based models of quantum computation. We report an experimental demonstration of teleportation of the prototypical quantum controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate. Assisted with linear optical manipulations, photon entanglement produced from parametric down-conversion, and postselection from the coincidence measurements, we teleport the quantum CNOT gate from acting on local qubits to acting on remote qubits. The quality of the quantum gate teleportation is characterized through the method of quantum process tomography, with an average fidelity of 0.84 demonstrated for the teleported gate.

Abstract:We propose a controlled quantum teleportation scheme to teleport an unknown state based on the interactions between flying photons and quantum dots (QDs) confined within single- and double-sided cavities. In our scheme, users (Alice and Bob) can teleport the unknown state through a secure entanglement channel under the control and distribution of an arbitrator (Trent). For construction of the entanglement channel, Trent utilizes the interactions between two photons and the QD-cavity system, which consists of a charged QD (negatively charged exciton) inside a single-sided cavity. Subsequently, Alice can teleport the unknown state of the electron spin in a QD inside a double-sided cavity to Bob’s electron spin in a QD inside a single-sided cavity assisted by the channel information from Trent. Furthermore, our scheme using QD-cavity systems is feasible with high fidelity, and can be experimentally realized with current technologies.

Abstract:This paper proposes a new bidirectional controlled simultaneous quantum teleportation protocol within a quantum network, which utilizes a nine-qubit entangled state as the quantum channel. In our protocol, Alice, Bob and Charlie can be both senders and receivers. Furthermore, we introduce a supervisor named David. Under the supervision of David, the transmission process is divided into two main scenarios: two senders & one receiver and one sender & two receivers. Before the transmission starts, we preprocess the transmitted entangled states using controlled-NOT gates. At this point, The entire transmission process needs to perform one measurement with the sixteen-mutually orthogonal four-qubit states, one simultaneous Bell-state measurement, and one single-qubit X basis measurement. Based on the measurement results, the communicators perform specific unitary operations and controlled-NOT operations to recover the initial states of the transmission. This protocol extends unidirectional simultaneous transmission to bidirectional simultaneous transmission for the first time, and it has significant advantages in terms of transmission efficiency.

Control power in perfect controlled teleportation via partially entangled channels

Abstract:We analyze and evaluate perfect controlled teleportation via three-qubit entangled channels from the point of view of the controller. The key idea in controlled teleportation is that the teleportation is performed only with the participation of the controller. We calculate a quantitative measure of the controller's power and establish a lower bound on the control power required for controlled teleportation. We show that the maximally entangled GHZ state is a suitable channel for controlled teleportation of arbitrary single qubits - the controller's power meets the bound and the teleportation fidelity without the controller's permission is no better than the fidelity of a classical channel. We also construct partially entangled channels that exceed the bound for controlled teleportation of a restricted set of states called the equatorial states. We calculate the minimum entanglement required in these channels to exceed the bound. Moreover, we find that in these restricted controlled teleportation schemes, the partially entangled channels can outperform maximally entangled channels with respect to the controller's power. Our results provide a new perspective on controlled teleportation schemes and are of practical interest since we propose useful partially entangled channels.

Abstract:Based on the four-qubit cluster state as quantum channel, we put forward a novel scheme for teleporting a two-qubit arbitrary entangled state. The necessary quantum operations for accomplishing the task are two controlled-not gate operations, one controlled-phase gate operation, four single-qubit measurements and two single-qubit transformed operations. They are easily achievable with current experimental techniques. Besides, the present scheme is deterministic because its probability of success is 100 % .

Abstract:In recent years, there has been heightened interest in quantum teleportation, which allows for the transfer of unknown quantum states over arbitrary distances. Quantum teleportation not only serves as an essential ingredient in long-distance quantum communication, but also provides enabling technologies for practical quantum computation. Of particular interest is the scheme proposed by D. Gottesman and I. L. Chuang [(1999) Nature 402: 390393], showing that quantum gates can be implemented by teleporting qubits with the help of some special entangled states. Therefore, the construction of a quantum computer can be simply based on some multiparticle entangled states, Bell-state measurements, and single-qubit operations. The feasibility of this scheme relaxes experimental constraints on realizing universal quantum computation. Using two different methods, we demonstrate the smallest nontrivial module in such a scheme-a teleportation-based quantum entangling gate for two different photonic qubits. One uses a high-fidelity six-photon interferometer to realize controlled-NOT gates, and the other uses four-photon hyperentanglement to realize controlled-Phase gates. The results clearly demonstrate the working principles and the entangling capability of the gates. Our experiment represents an important step toward the realization of practical quantum computers and could lead to many further applications in linear optics quantum information processing.

Abstract:Quantum teleportation provides a way to transmit unknown quantum states from one location to another. In the quantum world, multilevel systems which enable high-dimensional systems are more prevalent. Therefore, to completely rebuild the quantum states of a single particle remotely, one needs to teleport multilevel (high-dimensional) states. Here, we demonstrate the teleportation of high-dimensional states in a three-dimensional six-photon system. We exploit the spatial mode of a single photon as the high-dimensional system, use two auxiliary entangled photons to realize a deterministic three-dimensional Bell state measurement. The fidelity of teleportation process matrix is F=0.596±0.037. Through this process matrix, we can prove that our teleportation is both nonclassical and genuine three dimensional. Our work paves the way to rebuild complex quantum systems remotely and to construct complex quantum networks.

Abstract:Open quantum systems and study of decoherence are important for our fundamental understanding of quantum physical phenomena. For practical purposes, there exists a large number of quantum protocols exploiting quantum resources, e.g. entanglement, which allows to go beyond what is possible to achieve by classical means. We combine concepts from open quantum systems and quantum information science, and give a proof-of-principle experimental demonstration -- with teleportation -- that it is possible to implement efficiently a quantum protocol via non-Markovian open system. The results show that, at the time of implementation of the protocol, it is not necessary to have the quantum resource in the degree of freedom used for the basic protocol -- as long as there exists some other degree of freedom, or environment of an open system, which contains useful resources. The experiment is based on a pair of photons, where their polarizations act as open system qubits and frequencies as their environments -- while the path degree of freedom of one of the photons represents the state of Alice's qubit to be teleported to Bob's polarization qubit.
Two different efficient controlled quantum teleportation schemes via four-qubit cluster state

Abstract:By utilizing the four-qubit cluster state as quantum channel, two efficient quantum schemes for teleporting an arbitrary single-qubit state in a controlled manner are put forward. In one scheme the controller needs to dominate a qubit only, while in another scheme the controller has to hold two qubits. Moreover, the inspection of the necessary operations indicates that both schemes are feasible in terms of the current techniques. In addition, these two schemes are compared with two competing schemes which employ the same quantum channel [i.e., the JM-schemes proposed by Jiang and Mo, Int. J. Theor. Phys. 56, 3084 (2017)]. It is found that, in contrast to the JM-schemes, the schemes we proposed have some prominent advantages, such as lower consumption of classical information, fewer necessary local quantum operations, and higher intrinsic efficiency.

Abstract:Quantum teleportation(1) is central to quantum communication, and plays an important role in a number of quantum computation protocols(2,3). Most information-processing applications of quantum teleportation include the subsequent manipulation of the qubit (the teleported photon), so it is highly desirable to have a teleportation procedure resulting in high-quality, freely flying qubits. In our previous teleportation experiment(4), the teleported qubit had to be detected (and thus destroyed) to verify the success of the procedure. Here we report a teleportation experiment that results in freely propagating individual qubits. The basic idea is to suppress unwanted coincidence detection events by providing the photon to be teleported much less frequently than the auxiliary entangled pair. Therefore, a case of successful teleportation can be identified with high probability without the need actually to detect the teleported photon. The experimental fidelity of our procedure surpasses the theoretical limit required for the implementation of quantum repeaters(5,6).

Abstract:Teleportation of a d-dimensional quantum state via a pure but partially entangled channel is studied. Two schemes are presented for conclusive teleportation aiming at both obtaining a faithful replica with optimal probability and achieving a maximum average fidelity of teleportation when conclusive teleportation fails. A single pair entanglement concentration scheme is also constructed.

Abstract:We investigate the problem of teleportation of unitary operations by unidirectional control-state teleportation and propose a scheme called unidirectional quantum remote control. The scheme is based on the isomorphism between operation and state. It allows us to store a unitary operation in a control state, thereby teleportation of the unitary operation can be implemented by unidirectional teleportation of the control-state. We find that the probability of success for implementing an arbitrary unitary operation on arbitrary M-qubit state by unidirectional control-state teleportation is 4(-M), and 2M ebits and 4M cbits are consumed in each teleportation.
