Abstract:In this paper, we study the sharp constants of quantitative Hardy and Rellich inequalities on nonreversible Finsler manifolds equipped with arbitrary measures. In particular, these inequalities can be globally refined by adding remainder terms like the Brezis–Vázquez improvement, if Finsler manifolds are of strictly negative flag curvature, vanishing S-curvature and finite uniformity constant. Furthermore, these results remain valid when Finsler metrics are reversible.

Abstract:We verify that if M is a compact minimal submanifold with boundary in a Cartan–Hadamard manifold N, then $$\sum \nolimits _{i=1}^{k}\lambda _i\ge \frac{2n\pi }{e}k^{\frac{n+2}{n}}{{\,\mathrm{vol}\,}}(M)^{-\frac{2}{n}}$$, where $$\lambda _i$$ is the ith Dirichlet eigenvalue of the Laplacian on M. This provides an evidence for that the generalized Pólya conjecture is true. We also prove that if M is a complete and non-compact minimal submanifold in a Cartan–Hadamard manifold N, then $$\gamma _n N_\alpha (V)\le \int _M(V-\alpha )_{-}^{n/2}(x)dx$$, where $$N_\alpha (V)$$ is the number of eigenvalues($$\le \alpha $$) of the Schrödinger operator $$-\Delta +V$$ on M and $$\gamma _n$$ is an explicit positive constant depending only on n.

Abstract:We give estimates of the remainder terms for several conformally-invariant Sobolev-type inequalities on the Heisenberg group. By considering the variations of associated functionals, we give a stability for two dual inequalities: The fractional Sobolev (FS) and Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev (HLS) inequalities, in terms of distance to the submanifold of extremizers. Then we compare their remainder terms to improve the inequalities in another way. We also compare, in the limit case, the remainder terms of Beckner-Onofri (BO) inequality and its dual logarithmic Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev (Log-HLS) inequality. Besides, we also list without proof some results for other groups of Iwasawa-type. Our results generalize earlier works on Euclidean spaces of Chen et al. (2013) and Dolbeault and Jankowiak (2014) onto some groups of Heisenberg-type. We worked for "almost" all fractions especially for comparing results, and the stability of HLS is also absolutely new, even for Euclidean case.

In this paper, we prove that the above variational problem has a minimizer for $N\geq2$ under the following two assumptions: \begin{enumerate} \item[$(i)$]\quad $a_c^*\leq a<a_c$ and $a\leq b<a+1$, \item[$(ii)$]\quad $a<a_c^*$ and $b_{FS}^*(a)\leq b<a+1$, \end{enumerate} where $a_c^*=\bigg(1-\sqrt{\frac{N-1}{2N}}\bigg)a_c$ and \begin{eqnarray*} b_{FS}^*(a)=\frac{(a_c-a)N}{a_c-a+\sqrt{(a_c-a)^2+N-1}}+a-a_c. \end{eqnarray*} Our results extend that of Konig in \cite{K2023} for the Sobolev inequality to the CKN inequality. Moreover, we believe that our assumptions~$(i)$ and $(ii)$ are optimal for the existence of minimizers of the above variational problem.

Abstract:In this paper we first prove a number of important inequalities with explicit constants in the setting of the Heisenberg group. This includes the fractional and integer Sobolev, Gagliardo-Nirenberg, (weighted) Hardy-Sobolev, Nash inequalities, and their logarithmic versions. In the case of the first order Sobolev inequality, our constant recovers the sharp constant of Jerison and Lee. Remarkably, we also establish the analogue of the Gross inequality with a semi-probability measure on the Heisenberg group that allows -- as it happens in the Euclidean setting -- an extension to infinite dimensions, and particularly can be regarded as an inequality on the infinite dimensional $\mathbb{H}^{\infty}$. Finally, we prove the so-called generalised Poincaré inequality on the Heisenberg group both with respect to the aforementioned semi-probability measure and the Haar measure, also with explicit constants.

Min-max theory for free boundary G-invariant minimal hypersurfaces

Abstract:Given a compact Riemannian manifold $M^{n+1}$ with dimension $3\leq n+1\leq 7$ and $\partial M\neq\emptyset$, the free boundary min-max theory built by Martin Man-Chun Li and Xin Zhou shows the existence of a smooth almost properly embedded minimal hypersurface with free boundary in $\partial M$. In this paper, we generalize their constructions into equivariant settings. Specifically, let $G$ be a compact Lie group acting as isometries on $M$ with cohomogeneity at least $3$. Then we show that there exists a nontrivial smooth almost properly embedded $G$-invariant minimal hypersurface with free boundary. Moreover, if the Ricci curvature of $M$ is non-negative and $\partial M$ is strictly convex, then there exist infinitely many properly embedded $G$-invariant minimal hypersurfaces with free boundary.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the constrained minimization problem for an energy functional which is related to a Kirchhoff-type equation. For s=1, there many articles have analyzed the limit behavior of minimizers when η>0 as b→0+ or b>0 as η→0+. When the equation involves a varying non-local term ∫R3|∇u|2dxs, we give a detailed limit behavior analysis of constrained minimizers for any positive sequence {ηk} with ηk→0+. The present paper obtains an interesting result on this topic and enriches the conclusions of previous works.

Abstract:The aim of this article is to establish new two-functions minimax inequality extending classical results such as Simons' minimax theorem. Our results will be proved in a non-compact setting. Abstract:Consider the following inequalities due to Caffarelli, Kohn and Nirenberg (Compositio Mathematica,1984): (∫_Ω|u|^r/|x|^sdx)^1/r≤ C(p,q,r,μ,σ,s)(∫_Ω|∇ u|^p/|x|^μdx)^a/p(∫_Ω|u|^q/|x|^σdx)^1-a/q, where Ω⊂^N (N≥ 2) is an open set; p, q, r, μ, σ, s, a are some parameters satisfying some balanced conditions. When Ω is a cone in ^N (for example, Ω=^N), we prove the sharp constant C(p,q,r,μ,σ,s) can be achieved for a very large parameter space. Besides, we find some sufficient conditions which guarantee that the following Sobolev spaces W_μ^1,p(Ω), W_μ^1,p(Ω)∩ L^p(Ω), H^1,p(^N) are compactly embedded into L^r(^N, dx/|x|^s) for some new ranges of parameters, where W_μ^1,p(Ω) is the completion of C_0^∞(Ω) with respect to the norm (∫_Ω |∇ u|^p/|x|^μdx)^1/p. As applications, we also study the equation -div(|∇ u|^p-2∇ u/|x|^μ)=λ V(x)|u|^q-2u, u∈ W_μ^1,p(Ω) under some proper conditions on V(x).

Abstract:We consider a nilpotent Lie group with a bracket-generating distribution $\hhh$ and an asymmetric left-invariant norm $\|\cdot\|_K$ induced by a convex body $K\subseteq\hhh$ containing $0$ in its interior. In this paper we prove the existence of minimizers of the perimeter functional $P_K$ associated to $\|\cdot\|_K$ under a volume (Haar measure) constraint. Our result generalizes the one of Leonardi and Rigot for Carnot groups.

Abstract:In this paper we study a general 2×2 non-Abelian Chern–Simons–Higgs system of the formΔui+1ε2(∑j=12Kjieuj−∑j=12∑k=12KkjKjieujeuk)=4π∑j=1Niδpij(x),i=1,2 over a flat 2-torus T2, where ε>0, δp is the Dirac measure at p, Ni∈N (i=1,2), K is a non-degenerate 2×2 matrix of the form K=(1+a−a−b1+b), which may cover the physically interesting case when K is a Cartan matrix (of a rank 2 semisimple Lie algebra). Concerning the existence results of this type system over T2, usually in the literature there is a requirement that a,b>0. However, it is an open problem so far for the solvability about such system with a,b<0, which naturally appears in several Chern–Simons–Higgs models with some specific gauge groups. We partially solve this problem by showing that there exists a constant ε0>0 such that this system admits a solution over the torus if 0<ε<ε0 provided |a|,|b| are suitably small. Furthermore, if ab≥0 in addition, with suitable condition on a,b,N1,N2, this system admits a mountain-pass solution. Our argument is based on a perturbation approach and the mountain-pass lemma.
