Abstract:Pelvic floor disorders and FSD are prevalent and challenging problems. These disorders include prolapse of the uterus, cervix, vagina, bladder, and rectum and incontinence. These diseases likely affect women's sexual well-being through physical and emotional effects. Women with pelvic floor disorders often have co-existing urologic and sexual complaints. Patients who present with these urologic problems should be questioned about their sexual function. Surgical treatment in these patients may be curative of their sexual disorders (e.g., by repairing incontinence) but may also have undesired effects on sensation, blood flow, and the anatomy. These effects can affect sexual arousal and orgasm or cause dyspareunia. It is hoped that a better understanding of the anatomy of this area will guide us in a more targeted approach to management of these conditions.

Abstract:BACKGROUND: 25% of all women report involuntary loss of urine, and 7% may require treatment.METHODS: This review is based on a selection of pertinent literature, including guidelines and Cochrane reviews.RESULTS: The assessment of pelvic floor dysfunction in women begins with a basic evaluation that is followed by special diagnostic tests if indicated. The physician taking the clinical history should inquire about the patient's behavior, personality, social and other stressors, and eating and drinking habits, as well as any mental disorders that may be present, including anxiety disorders, depression, somatization disorders, and disorders of adaptation. Conservative treatment consists mainly of lifestyle changes, physiotherapy, and medication. Stress incontinence is most commonly treated with pelvic floor exercises, with a documented success rate of 56.1% vs. 6% without such treatment (relative risk 8.38, 95% confidence interval 3.67-19.07). If incontinence persists, surgery may be indicated ( implantation of suburethral tension-free slings, or colposuspension). Feedback and biofeedback training can be used to treat an overactive bladder. If these techniques and drug therapy are unsuccessful, botulinum toxin injections can be considered.CONCLUSION: Well-validated treatments for pelvic floor dysfunction are available. Psychosomatic factors must be taken into account and can have a major effect on treatment outcomes.

Abstract:Anxiety, shame, guilt, and depression accompany the absence or loss of urinary sphincter control at both ends of the life cycle. The economic costs are high when one reflects that incontinence limits access to child-care facilities and thus the mothers return to gainful employment. It is often the prime reason for admission to nursing home care for the grandmother. Poise and increased self-esteem go along with "being dry." Dysuria accompanying acute or interstitial cystitis also interferes with personal peace and the ability to work productively. A psychoanalytic review of developmental stages and their constellation of affects and defenses in regard to "wetness" will be discussed as well as when to refer, clarify, or make or receive a urological referral for your patient, their child, or parent.
Prevalence of depression and anxiety in women with pelvic floor dysfunctions: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

Abstract:Background Female pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD) is a common condition affecting the emotional well‐being of women. Objective To estimate the prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms in women with PFD. Search Strategy, Selection Criteria, Data Collection and Analysis Following prospective registration (PROSPERO CRD42022362095) we conducted a search of three electronic databases (PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus) from inception to April 2023 without language restriction to capture studies reporting the prevalence of depression/anxiety among women with PFD (chronic pelvic pain [CPP], urinary incontinence [UI], pelvic organ prolapse [POP], and/or fecal incontinence [FI]). Only studies with validated tools were included. Data extraction and study quality assessment were performed by two independent reviewers. Stratifying by type of PFD, rates of depression and anxiety were pooled using random effects model computing 95% confidence interval (CI) and assessing heterogeneity using the I2 statistic. Funnel plots were used to detect potential reporting biases and small‐study effects. Main Results The search yielded 767 articles, from which 54 studies containing 632 605 women were included. All the studies were high quality. The prevalence of depression was: CPP 26.8% (95% CI: 19.2–34.4, I2 = 98.7%; 12 studies, 4798 participants with 491 cases; Egger's P value = 0.009); UI 26.3% (95% CI: 19.4–33.2, I2 = 99.9%; 26 studies, a total of 346 114 participants with 25 050 cases; Egger's P value = 0.944); POP 34.9% (95% CI: 24.3–45.6, I2 = 68%; three studies, 297 participants with 104 cases; Egger's P value = 0.973); and FI 25.3% (95% CI: 0.68–49.9, I2 = 99.7%; six studies, 14 663 participants with 1773 cases; Egger's P value = 0.780). The prevalence of anxiety was: CPP 29.5% (95% CI: 16.3–42.7, I2 = 97.7%; nine studies, 2483 participants with 349 cases; Egger's P value = 0.001); UI 46.91% (95% CI: 39.1–54.6, I2 = 99.6%; 11 studies, 198 491 participants with 40 058 cases; Egger's P value = 0.337); and POP 28% (95% CI: 13.6–42.4, I2 = 89%; three studies with 355 participants with 90 cases; Egger's P value = 0.306). Conclusion The prevalence of mental health illness was variable in the different types of PFDs. This meta‐analysis helps quantify the burden of depression and anxiety in PFD and will help inform the policies regarding screening of emotional well‐being by healthcare professionals engaged in care of women with PFD.

Abstract:Background: Pelvic floor dysfunction encompasses conditions like urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain, significantly affecting women's quality of life. Despite its prevalence, few studies have adopted a qualitative approach to understanding women's perceptions and emotions regarding these issues. This study aims to delve into how women with pelvic floor disorders perceive their condition and its impact on their daily lives. Methods: We analyzed qualitative data from interviews with 160 women suffering from pelvic floor dysfunctions. Using inductive qualitative content analysis, we systematically examined the data to identify variations, differences, and similarities. Results: The analysis revealed four primary themes in the women's narratives: "Physical Impacts", "Emotional and Psychological Impacts", "Social and Relational Impacts", and "Sexual Health Impacts", along with 12 subthemes. The findings predominantly highlight how pelvic floor dysfunctions detrimentally affect women's quality of life and emotional well-being, instilling fear and insecurity in daily activities, compounded by sleep disturbances and sexual dysfunction. Conclusions: Women living with pelvic floor dysfunction face multifaceted challenges that adversely affect various aspects of their lives, diminishing their overall quality of life. This includes notable impacts on sleep, physical, and sexual activities. However, not all affected women report these issues, often due to fear of stigma, choosing instead to conceal their struggles in an effort to maintain an appearance of normalcy.

Abstract:<h3 class="u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom">Introduction</h3><p>Pelvic floor disorders (PFD) are extremely common; 1 in 3 parous women will experience urinary incontinence, 1 in 2 will develop pelvic organ prolapse, whereas 1 in 10 experience fecal incontinence. PFD are often associated with a significant reduction in women's psychological, social, and sexual well-being.</p><h3 class="u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom">Aim</h3><p>To review the current literature on sexual dysfunction related to PFD.</p><h3 class="u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom">Methods</h3><p>A literature search was conducted using PubMed and key words including sexual dysfunction, prolapse, incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, and surgical repair.</p><h3 class="u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom">Main Outcome Measure</h3><p>The outcome was to identify the nature and severity of sexual dysfunction in women with PFD.</p><h3 class="u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom">Results</h3><p>The prevalence of sexual dysfunction is estimated to be around 30–50% in the general population, whereas in women with PFD, the reported incidence rises to 50–83%. The leading factors cited for the reduction in a woman's sexual experience included worries about the image of their vagina for women with pelvic organ prolapse, dyspareunia and coital incontinence in women with urinary incontinence, and fear of soiling when dealing with anal incontinence. Pelvic floor muscle training has been associated with an improvement in sexual function. 11% of parous women will have surgery for pelvic organ prolapse, yet limited data are available on the impact of surgical intervention on sexual function. Native tissue repair of pelvic organ prolapse is associated with an improvement in sexual function, whereas posterior repair with levatorplasty and vaginal mesh repair can increase the risk of postsurgical dyspareunia. Subtotal hysterectomy is not associated with improved sexual function compared with traditional total hysterectomy.</p><h3 class="u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom">Conclusion</h3><p>It is clear there is an urgent need for further research on the effects of surgery for PFD on sexual function. Effectiveness of Physiotherapy Treatment for Urinary Incontinence in Women: A Systematic Review

Abstract:Background: Urinary incontinence (UI) may be defined as involuntary urine loss, which can be diagnosed based on patient-reported measures and is a hygiene and social problem in those who have it, affecting their quality of life negatively. Objective: The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of distinct physiotherapy techniques used in the treatment of UI in women through a systematic review of the existing literature. The scales and instruments used for the assessment and follow-up of UI were described. Methods: On searching the PubMed, Dialnet, PEDro, and SciELo databases, 16 articles, with information on 1220 patients that comply with the inclusion criteria and conform to the proposed objectives were obtained, limiting the publication period to 2007-2016. The PRISMA statement was adopted. Results: The "Pad Test" is a commonly used diagnostic test and bladder diaries on paper; the Oxford scale was used in the assessment of pelvic floor muscle strength. Distinct protocols and techniques have been described in the treatment of UI in women, namely, pelvic floor exercises, vaginal cones, biofeedback, and electrostimulation. Upon analysis of the content of the articles, the quality of the included clinical trials was determined using the PEDro scale. Conclusions: Studies included in this work propose that physiotherapy treatment may improve UI, the patients' quality of life, and social relations in women. It is necessary to establish group treatment protocols for women with UI, supervised by a physiotherapist to reduce the financial burden incurred from this health problem.
Urinary Incontinence Affects the Quality of Life and Increases Psychological Distress and Low Self-Esteem

Abstract:Urinary incontinence is a common problem among women of reproductive age. The objectives of this study were to measure the prevalence of urinary incontinence and the association with quality of life, psychological distress and self-esteem in Saudi women in the city of Riyadh. A questionnaire-based cross-sectional study was conducted in primary healthcare centers with Saudi women aged between 30 and 75 years. The questionnaire consisted of Urinary Distress Inventory, Incontinence Impact Questionnaire, Kessler Psychological Distress Scale, Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale, and the Female Sexual Function Index. Around 47.5% of women were suffering from urinary incontinence. The most common type of incontinence was stress (79%), followed by urge (72%) and mixed type (51%). Multivariate logistic regression analysis found that stress (5.83 (3.1, 11.1)), urge (3.41 (2.0, 5.8)), mixed (8.71 (3.4, 22.4)) incontinence and severe urinary distress (8.11 (5.2, 12.7)) were associated with impaired quality of life. Women suffering from stress and urge incontinence were twice (2.0 (1.3, 2.2)) as likely of reporting moderate/severe mental distress. Women suffering from urge incontinence (1.92 (1.4, 2.7)) and severe urinary distress (1.74 (1.1, 2.8)) were at a higher prevalence of reporting low self-esteem. Urinary incontinence affects the physical, psychological, social, and sexual health of women. Healthcare providers should be knowledgeable about the adverse consequences of UI on women's personal and social life, and provide counseling and treatment accordingly.
Psychological issues surrounding faecal incontinence: experiences of patients and nurses

Abstract:Continence care breaches social norms about privacy, nakedness and bodily functions. Faecal incontinence (FI) is a condition that is associated with a significant emotional impact, which extends to not only the patient but also the nurse or care worker. Patients can experience feelings of guilt and shame and a sense of 'incompetence', which can be connected to childhood experiences. Similarly, nurses and caregivers can encounter feelings of disgust and revulsion, which are often denied, as part of the perceived professional expectation. Nurses can develop self-protective behaviours including emotional detachment and development of a task-orientated approach to physical care. This can, in turn, accentuate the negative feelings experienced by patients with FI. Nurses developing self-awareness through reflection on their own difficult feelings can help to improve communication, which will meet patients' emotional needs and improve the therapeutic relationship. This article aims to encourage nurses and care workers to develop an empathetic understanding of the basic human emotional responses experienced by patients. It also aims to improve nurses' awareness of their own feelings and help them recognise the effect of these emotions on their own behaviours and their patients. Lastly, the importance of providing emotional care to patients with FI is discussed.
The Influence of Successful Treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence and Pelvic Organ Prolapse on Depression, Anxiety, and Insomnia—A Prospective Intervention Impact Assessment Study

Abstract:Introduction: The association between pelvic floor disorders (PFDs) and psychiatric conditions is an area of emerging interest. The causal direction of this relationship, however, remains ambiguous; it is unclear whether PFDs directly contribute to the deterioration of mental health or if pre-existing psychiatric conditions such as depression exacerbate the symptoms of PFDs. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of successful surgical treatment for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and pelvic organ prolapse (POP) on symptoms of depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Materials and Methods: This investigation focused on patients who underwent successful surgical interventions for SUI and POP. Both subjective and objective symptoms of PFDs, along with psychiatric status, were assessed before and after the surgical procedures. Results: This study found that successful surgical treatment of SUI and POP led to a significant reduction in anxiety scores. Additionally, in patients with SUI, successful treatment was objectively associated with a decrease in the severity of insomnia. Alleviation of symptoms associated with the lower urinary tract, prolapse, and colorectal–anal region following POP surgery was correlated with improvements in depression and anxiety but not insomnia. Subjectively assessed improvements in SUI subjective symptoms were linked to reductions in the severity of depression, anxiety, and insomnia in patients who underwent anti-incontinence surgery. Conclusions: These findings suggest a potential cause-and-effect relationship between PFDs and certain psychiatric disorders, highlighting the importance of successful treatment of PFDs in mitigating symptoms of depression, anxiety, and insomnia.

Abstract:The pelvic floor (PF) is made of muscles, ligaments, and fascia, which ensure organ statics, maintain muscle tone, and are involved in contractions. This review describes the myofascial relationships of PF with other parts of the body that determine the proper functions of PF, and also provides insight into PF disorders and the factors contributing to them. PF plays an important role in continence, pelvic support, micturition, defecation, sexual function, childbirth, and locomotion, as well as in stabilizing body posture and breathing, and cooperates with the diaphragm and postural muscles. In addition, PF associates with distant parts of the body, such as the feet and neck, through myofascial connections. Due to tissue continuity, functional disorders of muscles, ligaments, and fascia, even in the areas that are distant from PF, will lead to PF disorders, including urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, prolapse, sexual dysfunction, and pain. Dysfunctions of PF will also affect the rest of the body.
Managing female stress urinary incontinence in a post mesh era: What to do and when to refer

Abstract:Background: Urinary incontinence is a common presentation in general practice and can significantly affect a patient's quality of life. Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is defined by the International Continence Society as 'the complaint of any involuntary loss of urine on effort or physical exertion (eg sporting activities), or on sneezing or coughing'. There is a key role for primary care providers in the assessment and management of female SUI. Objective: To highlight the key diagnostic and management principles of female SUI in general practice and discuss management options. Discussion: SUI can usually be diagnosed based upon clinical history and targeted physical examination. Pelvic floor physiotherapy and lifestyle interventions, including weight modification and management of co-morbidities, are important first-line therapies. Surgical options for both persistent or complex SUI include urethral bulking agents, Burch colposuspension and pubovaginal fascial slings. Synthetic (mesh) mid-urethral slings remain a viable surgical option for women suffering SUI.
High Prevalence of Psychological Comorbidities and Functional Neurological Symptoms in Women With Urinary Retention

Abstract:Purpose: Chronic idiopathic urinary retention (CIUR) in young women is poorly understood and a probable etiology is established only in around 40%, most commonly a primary disorder of external urethral sphincter relaxation, sometimes referred to as Fowler's syndrome. A high prevalence of psychological and functional comorbidities is reported, however these have been poorly characterized. Materials and methods: Women consecutively referred for the assessment and management of CIUR were evaluated cross-sectionally for 13 psychological/behavioral domains using a structured clinical interview: depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), other psychiatric history, functional neurological disorder, other functional syndromes, childhood and adult trauma, personality disorder, and self-harm (ever/current). Results: A total of 91 women (mean age [SD]: 34 [11] years) were evaluated. Women with Fowler's syndrome (n = 69) were younger (mean age [SD]: 32 [9] vs 40 [13] years) than women without Fowler's syndrome and reported shorter mean duration of urinary symptoms (mean [SD]: 5 [6] vs 10 [9]). A high prevalence of psychiatric and psychological comorbidities was reported (97%) including current depression (77%), current anxiety (78%), and PTSD (32%). A high prevalence of functional neurological disorder (56%) and other functional symptoms (65%) was also reported. Self-harm was reported in (14%) and personality disorder in 16%. Childhood trauma was reported in 35% of women. Conclusions: Young women with CIUR report a high burden of psychiatric disorders, affective symptoms, trauma, PTSD, self-harm, and functional neurological disorder, particularly in those with Fowler's syndrome. These factors can undermine the engagement with health care professionals and affect management and should therefore be addressed during the urological assessment.
Living with Urinary Incontinence: Potential Risks of Women's Health? A Qualitative Study on the Perspectives of Female Patients Seeking Care for the First Time in a Specialized Center

Abstract:Background: Urinary incontinence (UI) represents a complex problem which commonly affects women and influences their physical, mental, and social wellbeing. The objective of this study was to explore the experiences of a group of women with urinary incontinence. Methods: A qualitative exploratory study. Purposeful sampling was used. Recruited patients were females aged >18 years old with positive symptoms, signs of urinary incontinence, and attending a specialized urinary incontinence center for the first time. We collected data using interviews and participants' personal letters. A thematic analysis was performed. Results: 18 women participated with a mean age of 47.32 years. Four themes emerged: a) Experiencing uncontrolled urinary leakage, b) Information based on beliefs and myths regarding UI, c) Adapting to change and developing strategies, d) The role of education. Women's experiences were accompanied by feelings of stress and shame. A lack of information regarding UI was found, together with numerous misconceptions. Urinary incontinence triggers many changes in women. Some women may develop feelings of rejection towards their own body. Family involvement during these times is essential for education and promoting healthy sexual practices. Conclusions: This study highlights the importance of developing educational programs that focus on women's information and education regarding triggering factors and coping strategies.
Health-Related Quality of Life and Psychosocial Variables in Women with Colorectal Pelvic Floor Dysfunction: A Cross-Sectional Study

Abstract:Pelvic floor dysfunction comprises various disorders, including urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and chronic pelvic pain. This study aimed to evaluate health-related quality of life (HRQoL), anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, and sexual functioning in women with pelvic floor dysfunction of colorectal etiology compared with control women. Patients were recruited from a specialized colorectal unit and controls were selected from among the patients' friends and relatives. Sociodemographic and clinical data were collected. Pelvic floor dysfunction distress and impact, HRQoL, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and sexual functioning were assessed using the following validated questionnaires: Short-Form Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory (PFDI-20), Short Form Pelvic Floor Impact Questionnaire (PFIQ-7), 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36), Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), and Changes in Sexual Functioning Scale (CSFQ). Statistical analyses included Welch's t-test, Fisher's exact test, and Spearman's correlation coefficients. Eighty-four patients and 57 controls were included. Compared with controls, patients were more likely to be obese or overweight, have had higher numbers of deliveries, more vaginal deliveries, more frequent use of forceps, and have had more associated comorbidities, mainly in the urinary, neurological, and psychiatric domains. As expected, patients scored significantly higher than controls on both the PFDI-20 and PFIQ-7 and their respective sub-scales, with the highest mean values in the patient group on the sub-scales related to the colorectal–anal domain. QoL, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and sexual functioning were significantly worse in patients than in controls (p < 0.0001 in every case). In patients, PFIQ-7 scores correlated significantly with HRQoL (p < 0.001 for the physical component and p < 0.01 for the mental component), depression (p < 0.001), anxiety (p < 0.001), insomnia (p < 0.05), and sexual functioning scores (p < 0.05). Colorectal pelvic floor dysfunction had a markedly deleterious impact on the HRQoL, depression, anxiety, sleep disturbance, and sexual functioning of patients. It is concluded that colorectal pelvic floor dysfunction exerts a considerable burden on patients' lives. Addressing these issues in clinical settings could significantly improve patients' well-being.

Abstract:Urinary incontinence (UI) is a prevalent health concern in females over 60, but it is prevalent in a smaller percentage of males. The medical and social elements of UI are crucial. This disorder may cause embarrassment and low self-esteem, reducing social and physical activities. Consequently, this may impair healthy aging. Researchers have shown that pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) may improve UI symptoms in middle-aged, older, and young people. Clinical practice highlights the importance of PFMT for UI due to its low cost-effectiveness. To assess PFMT's overall efficacy, we conducted a systematic review of the literature (SRL) and a meta-analysis (MA) of randomized clinical trials (RCTs). The previous 10 years of published material were combed using the online databases the Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Eligible total studies were RCTs referring to the effectiveness of PFMT. The pooled incidence, risk ratio, and 95% confidence interval (CI) of the effectiveness of PFMT were calculated using the fixed effects model. Given the possibility of a between-study variance, we used the fixed effects model rather than the random effects model.

Abstract:Introduction and hypothesisInvestigating the activity of the pelvic floor muscles (PFMs) in women during impact activities such as jumping, running or coughing may elucidate different aspects of PFM activation and therefore clarify the pathophysiology of stress urinary incontinence (SUI). A systematic review (PROSPERO 2016:CRD42016035624) was conducted to summarize current evidence on PFM activity during impact activities in both continent and incontinent women.MethodsPubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, and SPORTDiscus databases were systematically searched for studies published up to December 2016. The PICO approach (patient, intervention, comparison, outcome) was used to construct the search queries. Original studies were included that investigated PFM activity during impact activities if they included terms related to muscle activity and measurement methods, test positions, activities performed and continence status. Two reviewers screened titles and abstracts independently to ascertain if the included studies fulfilled the inclusion criteria, and extracted data on outcome parameters.ResultsThe search revealed 28 studies that fulfilled the inclusion criteria, of which 26 were cross-sectional studies. They used different electromyography measurement methods, test activities, test positions, and comparisons with other structures. Ten studies compared continent and incontinent women. The timing of PFM activity in relation to the activity of other trunk muscles seems to be a crucial factor in maintaining continence. Women with SUI have delayed PFM activity.ConclusionsThe findings of this systematic review suggest that impact activities causing involuntary and reflex PFM activity should be the subject of further study. This may help guide clinical studies to improve our understanding of how the PFMs react during impact activities and to determine best practices that can be included in rehabilitation programmes.

Correlation of Self-Efficacy for Pelvic Floor Muscle Exercise with Symptoms of Stress Urinary Incontinence in Women

Abstract:Introduction and hypothesis: Self-efficacy for pelvic floor exercises, i.e. confidence in achieving pelvic floor contractions, may predict adherence to treatment. However, there is a paucity of literature investigating the clinical relevance of this outcome. The aim was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy for pelvic floor exercise and symptom severity, pelvic floor distress and impact on quality of life, as well as sociodemographic characteristics and pelvic floor muscle strength in women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in women with SUI. The Spanish version of the Broome Pelvic Muscle Self-Efficacy Scale was used to assess self-efficacy for pelvic floor exercise. The dependent variables were: urinary incontinence symptoms using the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire, short form (ICIQ-SF), pelvic floor distress symptoms using the Urogenital Distress Inventory-6, impact on quality of life using the Incontinence Impact Questionnaire (IIQ-7), leakage using the 1-h pad test, number of SUI episodes per week and pelvic floor muscle strength. Results: A total of 56 women with a median age of 44.5 years were included. Self-efficacy for pelvic floor exercise correlated negatively and moderately with the ICIQ-SF (r = -0.529; p < 0.001), IIQ-7 (r = -0.442; p = 0.001), 1-h pad test (rs = -0.467; p < 0.001); and number of SUI episodes/week (rs = -0.489; p < 0.001). Correlation with the other outcomes was weak or non-existent. Linear regression with forward selection showed that the ICIQ-SF was the variable most related to self-efficacy (β: -3.01, 95% CI: -4.03 to -1.69). Conclusions: These findings highlight the importance of assessing self-efficacy for pelvic floor exercise in the treatment of women with SUI. Future prospective studies are needed to confirm these findings.
