Abstract:In this paper, a generalization of fixed-point mappings with an iterate at a point in complete metric spaces is shown, using the notions of T-closed sets and i-P-regularity/d-P-regularity, proving conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the fixed point. Examples are provided to illustrate the results and an application to coupled fixed points is shown.

Abstract:We consider a new type of mappings in metric spaces which can be characterized as mappings contracting perimeters of triangles. It is shown that such mappings are continuous. The fixed-point theorem for such mappings is proved and the classical Banach fixed-point theorem is obtained like a simple corollary. An example of a mapping contractive perimeters of triangles which is not a contraction mapping is constructed.

Abstract:In recent times there have been two prominent trends in metric fixed point theory. One is the use of weak contractive inequalities and the other is the use of binary relations. Combining the two trends, in this paper we establish a relation-theoretic fixed point result for a mapping which is defined on a metric space with an arbitrary binary relation and satisfies a weak contractive inequality for any pair of points whenever the pair of points is related by a given relation. The uniqueness is obtained by assuming some extra conditions. The metric space is assumed to be R -complete. We use R -continuity of functions. The property of local T-transitivity of the relation R is used in the main theorem. There is an illustrative example. An existing fixed point result is generalized through the present work. We use a method in the proof of our main theorem which is a blending of relation-theoretic and analytic approaches.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper was to introduce several $ b $-generalized contractive mappings in the framework of cone $ b $-metric spaces over Banach algebras. The obtained contractions generalized and extended the counterparts in metric spaces, cone metric spaces, and $ b $-metric spaces. Moreover, via weakening the completeness of the spaces, we gave some fixed point theorems for asymptotically regular mappings without considering the orbital continuity and $ k $-continuity of the mappings. Those who need a specification is our results do not rely on the continuity of $ b $-metric and the normality of cones. In addition, some nontrivial examples were presented to illustrate the superiority of our fixed point theorems.

In this paper, we obtain new fixed point theorems assuming that T satisfies a contractive-type condition of the following form: $$\begin{aligned} \psi (d(Tx,Ty)) \le \varphi (d(x,y)) \end{aligned}$$or T satisfies a generalized contractive-type condition of the form $$\begin{aligned} \psi (d(Tx,Ty)) \le \varphi (m(x,y)), \end{aligned}$$where ${\psi ,\varphi :(0,\infty ) \rightarrow {\mathbb {R}}}$ and m(x, y) is defined by $$\begin{aligned} m(x,y) = \max \left\{ d(x,y), d(x,Tx), d(y,Ty), [d(x,Ty)+d(y,Tx)] / 2 \right\} . \end{aligned}$$In both cases, the results extend and unify many earlier results. Among the other results, we prove that recent fixed point theorems of Wardowski (2012) and Jleli and Samet (2014) are equivalent to a special case of the well-known fixed point theorem of Skof (1977).

Abstract:In this article, we introduce two multivalued contractive mappings within the framework of Hausdorff controlled metric spaces, employing concepts of admissibility and C ‐class functions. The first mapping is a (β∗,ζ) ‐generalized contractive multivalued mapping, and the second is a (β,W(ζ,ξ)) ‐multivalued mapping. We establish conditions guaranteeing the existence of fixed points for these mappings. To support our theoretical findings, we provide a numerical example, demonstrating the independence of the contractive conditions for the mappings. Furthermore, we apply our results to a specific problem in polynomial equations. These findings complement several existing results in the literature.

Abstract:In the article, we considered the fixed point problem for contractive mappings of integral type in the setting of $ b $-metric spaces for the first time. First, we introduced the concepts of $ \theta $-weak contraction and $ \theta $-$ \psi $-weak contraction. Second, the existence and uniqueness of fixed points of contractive mappings of integral type in $ b $-metric spaces were studied. Meanwhile, two examples were given to prove the feasibility of our results. As an application, we proved the solvability of a functional equation arising in dynamic programming.

Abstract:In this paper we extend the coupled fixed point theorems for mixed monotone operators $F:X \times X \rightarrow X$ obtained in [T.G. Bhaskar, V. Lakshmikantham, \textit{Fixed point theorems in partially ordered metric spaces and applications}, Nonlinear Anal. \textbf{65} (2006) 1379-1393] and [N.V. Luong and N.X. Thuan, \textit{Coupled fixed points in partially ordered metric spaces and application}, Nonlinear Anal. \textbf{74} (2011) 983-992], by weakening the involved contractive condition. An example as well an application to nonlinear Fredholm integral equations are also given in order to illustrate the effectiveness of our generalizations.

Abstract:We introduce a new type of mappings in metric spaces which are three-point analogue of the well-known Kannan type mappings and call them generalized Kannan type mappings. It is shown that in general case such mappings are discontinuous but continuous at fixed points as well as Kannan type mappings and that these two classes of mappings are independent. The fixed-point theorem for generalized Kannan type mappings is proved. Additional conditions of asymptotic regularity and continuity allow us to extent the class of mappings for which the fixed-point theorems hold. Following Kannan, we also obtain two other fixed-point theorems for generalized Kannan type mappings in metric spaces which are not obligatory complete.

Abstract:The aim of this paper in to introduce a large class of mappings, called {\it enriched Kannan mappings}, that includes all Kannan mappings and some nonexpansive mappings. We study the set of fixed points and prove a convergence theorem for Kransnoselskij iteration used to approximate fixed points of enriched Kannan mappings in Banach spaces. We then extend further these mappings to the class of enriched Bianchini mappings. Examples to illustrate the effectiveness of our results are also given. As applications of our main fixed point theorems, we present two Kransnoselskij projection type algorithms for solving split feasibility problems and variational inequality problems in the class of enriched Kannan mappings and enriched Bianchini mappings, respectively.

Abstract:In this paper, owing to the concept of F-contraction, we define two new classes of functions M(S,T)$$M(S,T)$$ and N(S,T)$$N(S,T)$$, and we prove some new fixed point results for single-valued and multivalued mappings in complete metric spaces. Our results extend, generalize and unify several known results in the literature. We include an example to show that the generalization is proper.

Abstract:This paper explores a new class of mappings and presents several fixed-point results for these mappings. We define these mappings by combining well-known mappings in the literature, specifically the large contraction mapping and Chatterjea's mapping. This combination allows us to achieve significant fixed-point results in complete metric spaces, both in a continuous and a non-continuous sense. Additionally, we provide an explicit example to validate our findings. Furthermore, we discuss a general model for fractional differential equations using the Caputo derivative. Finally, we outline the benefits of our study and suggest potential areas for future research.

Abstract:Based on the technique of enriching contractive type mappings, a technique that has been used successfully in some recent papers, we introduce the concept of {\it saturated} class of contractive mappings. We show that, from this perspective, the contractive type mappings in the metric fixed point theory can be separated into two distinct classes, unsaturated and saturated, and that, for any unsaturated class of mappings, the technique of enriching contractive type mappings provides genuine new fixed point results. We illustrate the concept by surveying some significant fixed point results obtained recently for five remarkable unsaturated classes of contractive mappings. In the second part of the paper, we also identify some classes of saturated classes of contractive mappings, whose main feature is that they cannot be enlarged by means of the technique of enriching the contractive mappings.

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to establish a general fixed point theorem for compact single-valued continuous mapping in Hausdorff p-vector spaces, and the fixed point theorem for upper semicontinuous set-valued mappings in Hausdorff locally p-convex for p in (0, 1]. These new results provide an answer to Schauder conjecture in the affirmative under the setting of general p-vector spaces for compact single-valued continuous, and also give the fixed point theorems for upper semicontinuous set-valued mappings defined on s-convex subsets in Hausdorff locally p-convex spaces, which would be fundamental for nonlinear functional analysis in mathematics, where s,p in (0.1].

Abstract:In this paper, we investigated several new fixed points theorems for multivalued mappings in the framework $ b $-metric spaces. We first generalized $ S $-iterative schemes for multivalued mappings to above spaces by means of a convex structure and then we developed the existence of fixed points and approximate endpoints of the multivalued contraction mappings using iteration techniques. Furthermore, we introduced the modified $ S $-iteration process for approximating a common endpoint of a multivalued $ \alpha_{s} $-nonexpansive mapping and a multivalued mapping satisfying conditon $ (E^{'}) $. We also showed that this new iteration process converges faster than the $ S $-iteration process in the sense of Berinde. Some convergence results for this iterative procedure to a common endpoint under some certain additional hypotheses were proved. As an application, we applied the $ S $-iteration process in finding the solution to a class of nonlinear quadratic integral equations.
