Abstract:Landscape ecology has achieved great progress since its introduction to China in early 1980s. Based on 619 collections of literatures and 14 collections of books, this paper has all the literatures and books classified, arranged in order and counted on different special subject. According to the results of classified statistics, the authors discuss and analyze how landscape ecology research was going in China during 1990s. Moreover, this paper can also provide scientific basis for those who want to grasp and keep abreast of current focus and trend of landscape ecology in China.

Abstract:The present study endeavors to unveil the progression of research subjects within the realm of China's ecotranslatology studies through the examination of journal papers in the databases of China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Web of Science (WOS) from 2001 to 2022, utilizing CiteSpace software for mapping and analyzing cooccurrences among authors, institutions, and keywords. The findings indicate that within ecotranslatology studies, a prominent theory-founding research group represented by Hu Gengshen has been established, yet no comparable clusters have been identified among scholars engaged in debate or applied studies. Additionally, a lack of effective cooperation and diversity among research entities as well as inadequate responses to questions and concerns have been observed. Furthermore, research focuses have undergone a shift, progressing from theory founding studies (2001–2008) to confirmation and verification studies (2009–2014) and finally to revision and applied studies (since 2015). Additionally, research topics have transitioned from grand, abstract theoretical foundations to subtle, specific theory revisions and applied translation studies, yet a dearth of quantitative research, comparative studies, or field studies have been conducted. In conclusion, it is suggested that future ecotranslatology studies should be more responsive to doubts and questions, cultivate diverse research entities, and place greater emphasis on field investigation within qualitative research.

Abstract:Abstract The present study employs a bibliometric analysis to examine the research trends in the field of evaluation, appraisal and stance. The bibliometric information of publications between 2000 and 2015 was retrieved from the Web of Science SSCI Core Collection database. The indicators analyzed include the number of publications by year, most frequently explored topics, most cited works, major individual contributors, publication venues, distribution among countries/regions and institutions. Our findings showed that the annual publications increased dramatically, revealing an upward trend in this research field. The results concerning the most frequently addressed topics suggested that EAP has been a fruitful domain in terms of the evaluative dimension of discourse. Besides, future research will feature more discipline-specific and language-specific empirical studies and comparative cross-linguistic studies. Pedagogical applications of evaluation research also need to be explored. Citation results indicated that the groundbreaking monographs in this field generate the highest citation counts, and that the most cited works cover a variety of sub-fields of linguistics, which may further prove the heterogeneous nature of the evaluative dimension of language.

Abstract:The growing need to improve the quality and efficiency of translation by using technology has stimulated the practice of and research into translation technology teaching (TTT). Naturally, there is a need to analyse the state of the art and development of TTT from a quantitative perspective, because such research is still very scarce. This paper uses the bibliometric technologies, CiteSpace and VOSviewer in particular, to delineate the publication information of TTT-related research mainly in two citation databases, i.e., Web of Science (WoS) and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), from the year 1999 to 2020. It finds that China is gaining importance in TTT-related research, that international English-language publications pay more attention to the teaching of MTPE, while Chinese-language publications focus more on corpus-based TTT, and that English publications tend to use empirical methods, while Chinese publications tend to adopt non-empirical methods. The differences between the two publication communities in research methods and focuses call for contact and exchange between the two communities.

Abstract:Bibliometric methods and CiteSpace software have been used to analyze the research trends and hotspots in the translation field of The Analects over the past 11 years. The results indicate a gradual decline in the volume of publications, yet keyword analysis reveals that 论语 (the analects), 翻译 (translation), and 辜鸿铭 (Gu Hongming) remain focal points of research. Collaboration among authors is relatively limited, suggesting a need for enhancement in both the depth and breadth of research. Furthermore, there is a growing body of research on the translation and dissemination of The Analects, reflecting an increased interest in the inheritance and innovation of traditional culture. Through this study, the developmental trends and academic hotspots are comprehensively presented, offering comparatively valuable references and insights for future research endeavors.

Abstract:Revisiting the development of translation textbooks in China,this paper interprets how translation textbooks are compiled,developed and studied in the context of Chinese translation ecology from an eco-translatological perspective,with a view to proposing that translation textbooks for translation majors should be ecologically designed in the new century.This proposal highlights that a good ecological relationship among knowledge domains should be established in the textbooks,such as linking translation knowledge with life,with learners' personal experiences and with other disciplines.In order to keep new textbooks in a harmonious ecological environment,all the relevant participants including publishers,compilers and readers are encouraged to work interactively.The translation textbooks should be compiled in a descriptive way so that they would be dynamically interpretive.

Abstract:Recent years has seen a steady development of translation quality research. This paper, with the help of Bicomb (for co-word analysis), UCINET(for social network analysis), and SPSS21.0 (for cluster analysis), has made a detailed exploration of papers on translation quality in CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) in terms of the number of papers, journal distribution, high-frequency key words, and diachronic change of key words that may help to reflect research topics and trends in the Chinese mainland in the past two decades. It also offers recommendations for further study and provides some insights for researchers on translation quality.

Abstract:The Yellow River Basin (YRB) is an important economic zone and ecological barrier in China. The analysis of its research characteristics and hotspots has been helpful to grasping the future research direction. This work carried out text mining and analysis on scientific papers related to eco-environment research in the YRB from English and Chinese publications. It showed that: there was a fluctuating upward trend over the past 30 years, which was closely related to major events in the YRB during the same period. Chinese research institutions have a closer cooperation with the USA, Australia and other developed countries. More articles were from high-quality journals in ecology, the environment, and others. Interestingly, research institutions with more Chinese articles were mainly located around Beijing or the YRB. Additionally, from a research object perspective, both the English and Chinese articles have mainly focused on large areas such as the lower Yellow River, the middle reaches of the Yellow River, and the upper reaches of the Yellow River, then turning to small areas such as the Yellow River estuary and the source area of the Yellow River. Eco-environment research in the YRB has involved multiple disciplines, and "water-soil-vegetation-ecological protection" has been widely concerned. From the evolution law of hot topics, it has shown a transformation from quantity to quality, from utilization to management, from macro to micro, from construction to high-quality development. It suggests that future research should focus on water, soil, the ecological environment and local high-quality development in small regions and small watersheds.

Abstract:This article presents a bibliometric analysis of translation studies of children's literature. The analysis focuses on annual publication trends, productive contributors at the country/region, institution, author, and journal levels, influential publications, and popular topics, language pairs, and research types and methods. For this purpose, a total of 237 articles were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection and imported into Microsoft Excel 2021 to calculate the aforementioned bibliometric indicators. In addition, VOSviewer was used to create a visual keyword co-occurrence map. The findings show that children's literature translation has attracted more academic attention in recent years. Besides, institutions from countries/regions, such as Spain, China, England, South Africa, and Poland, are powerhouses of translation studies of children's literature. Meanwhile, Haidee Kotze and Yolisa Madolo are among the most productive authors, and the articles by Christiane Nord and Emer O'Sullivan are among the most influential articles. Additionally, English-Chinese is the most popular language pair and English is the most popular language, children's classics and translation strategies are among the most popular topics, empirical research far outnumbers theoretical research, and the observation method prevails over other research methods. Based on these findings, this article suggests several methods that might advance translation studies of children's literature, such as proposing special issues on children's literature translation, strengthening collaboration among scholars, convening regular seminars, and encouraging theoretical, quantitative, and interdisciplinary research.

Abstract:The rise of eco-translatology has posed a formidable challenge to many traditional doctrines of literary and cultural translation and to translation studies itself.While ruthlessly deconstructing the anthropocentric mode of thinking in selecting texts for translation,eco-translatology has also reconstructed a new paradigm of sorts,setting intrinsic characteristics of translatability as the single most important criterion for selecting source texts,demanding that the ecological balance of the original be preserved in the translated text,and calling for a balance between the subject(translator) and the object(text) as well.Despite the importance it attaches to"balancing,"however,one detects in this new paradigm a tendency to overemphasize the subjectivity of translator.

Abstract:Based on an analysis of research papers about foreign literature published in our country's relevant periodicals during the period of 2000-2004, this paper points out that studies on foreign literature in China over recent years are ever increasingly developing.Such a development finds expression in an extension and deepening of the research content,in an expansion of the research ranks,and in an elevation of the research quality.It can be envisaged that the Chinese studies on foreign literature will have a leap in the following five to ten years and produce a considerable influence in the international academic circles.

Abstract:Abstract Using CNKI’s full-text database of Chinese journals as the data source, we will discuss the inter-annual changes, main research forces, funding funds, high-frequency keywords and development context of the ecological environment quality research field in my country based on remote sensing technology. The results show that: from the perspective of the inter-annual changes in the literature, the number of papers published on the ecological environment quality in my country has shown a significant upward trend, and it has developed rapidly in recent years; from the perspective of research strength, Beijing Forestry University has the highest total citation frequency, whether it is the number of papers or the number of citations. The frequency indicates that universities have a relatively high level of scientific research in this field as a whole; from the perspective of fund funding, the research on ecological environment quality has attracted great attention from the national and local levels.
