Abstract:An attempt is made to construct composable composite entropy with different q indices of subsystems and address the H-theorem problem of the composite system. Though the H-theorem does not hold in general situations, it is shown that some composite entropies do not decrease in time in near-equilibrium states and factorized states with negligibly weak interaction between the subsystems.

Abstract:We revisit the derivation of a formula for the $q$-generalised multinomial coefficient rooted in the $q$-deformed algebra, a foundational framework in the study of nonextensive statistics. Previous approximate expressions in the literature diverge as $q$ approaches 2 (or 0, depending on convention). In contrast, our derived formula provides an exact, smooth function for all real values of $q$, expressed as an infinite series expansion involving Tsallis entropies with sequential entropic indices, coupled with Bernoulli numbers. This formulation is achieved through the analytic continuation of the Riemann zeta function, stemming from the $q$-deformed factorials. Our formula thus offers a distinctive characterisation of Tsallis entropy within the $q$-deformed combinatorics. Throughout this exploration, we also highlight a symmetry within the $q$-deformed theory that links different values of the entropic parameter. Furthermore, we discuss extending our results to encompass more general, affinity-sensitive cases, building on the previously established framework of affinity-based extended entropy.

Abstract:In this paper, von Neumann entropy is used to study three kinds of bipartite qutrit model, which represent SU(3) strongly correlated model, three-level Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model, and spin-1 model. The relation between the ground-state entanglement and the quantum phase transition in those models is exhibited and the connection between the entanglement extremes and the symmetries is also discussed.

Abstract:We point out that the q-entropy composition for independent events has exactly the same form as the Pythagorean theorem in hyperbolic geometry. We justify the formal relation of hyperbolic geometry with the q-entropy through the use of the $\kappa$-entropy, which is directly related to the hyperboloid model of hyperbolic space. We comment on the relation between orthogonality in this form of the Pythagorean theorem and the independence of the probability distributions appearing in the q-entropy composition through the use of the Dvoretzky-Rogers lemma.

The $q$-generalised multinomial/KL-divergence correspondence

Abstract:The asymptotic correspondence between the probability mass function of the $q$-deformed multinomial distribution and the $q$-generalised Kullback-Leibler divergence, also known as Tsallis relative entropy, is established. The probability mass function is generalised using the $q$-deformed algebra developed within the framework of nonextensive statistics, leading to the emergence of a family of divergence measures in the asymptotic limit as the system size increases. The coefficients in the asymptotic expansion yield Tsallis relative entropy as the leading-order term when $q$ is interpreted as an entropic parameter. Furthermore, higher-order expansion coefficients naturally introduce new divergence measures, extending Tsallis relative entropy through a one-parameter generalisation. Some fundamental properties of these extended divergences are also explored.

Abstract:We introduce a composition of quantum states of a bipartite system which is based on the reshuffling of density matrices. This non-Abelian product is associative and stems from the composition of quantum maps acting on a simple quantum system. It induces a semi-group in the subset of states with maximally mixed partial traces. Subadditivity of the von Neumann entropy with respect to this product is proved. It is equivalent to subadditivity of the entropy of bistochastic maps with respect to their composition, where the entropy of a map is the entropy of the corresponding state under the Jamiołkowski isomorphism. Strong dynamical subadditivity of a concatenation of three bistochastic maps is established. Analogous bounds for the entropy of a composition are derived for general stochastic maps. In the classical case they lead to new bounds for the entropy of a product of two stochastic matrices.

Abstract:Monogamy of entanglement is the fundamental property of quantum systems. By using two new entanglement measures based on dual entropy, the $S^{t}$-entropy entanglement and $T^{t}_q$-entropy entanglement measures, we present the general monogamy relations in multi-qubit quantum systems. We show that these newly derived monogamy inequalities are tighter than the existing ones. Based on these general monogamy relations, we construct the set of multipartite entanglement indicators for $N$-qubit states, which are shown to work well even for the cases that the usual concurrence-based indicators do not work. Detailed examples are presented to illustrate our results.

Abstract:A $q$-Gaussian measure is a generalization of a Gaussian measure. This generalization is obtained by replacing the exponential function with the power function of exponent $1/(1-q)$ ($q\neq 1$). The limit case $q=1$ recovers a Gaussian measure. For $1\leq q <3$, the set of all $q$-Gaussian densities over the real line satisfies a certain regularity condition to define information geometric structures such as an entropy and a relative entropy via escort expectations. The ordinary expectation of a random variable is the integral of the random variable with respect to its law. Escort expectations admit us to replace the law to any other measures. A choice of escort expectations on the set of all $q$-Gaussian densities determines an entropy and a relative entropy. One of most important escort expectations on the set of all $q$-Gaussian densities is the $q$-escort expectation since this escort expectation determines the Tsallis entropy and the Tsallis relative entropy. The phenomenon gauge freedom of entropies is that different escort expectations determine the same entropy, but different relative entropies. In this note, we first introduce a refinement of the $q$-logarithmic function. Then we demonstrate the phenomenon on an open set of all $q$-Gaussian densities over the real line by using the refined $q$-logarithmic functions. We write down the corresponding Riemannian metric.

Abstract:In this short paper, we generalize Ismail–Zhang's q-2D Hermite polynomials (Trans Am Math Soc 369:6779–6821 (2017), [14]) with an extra parameter and prove that if an analytic function in several variables satisfies a set of partial differential equations of second order, then it can be expanded in terms of the product of the generalized q-2D Hermite polynomials. This leads to a proof—in the finite-dimensional case—of Raggio’s conjecture [G. A. Raggio, J. Math. Abstract:The Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy in the sense of Tsallis under Bernoulli shifts was obtained by Meson and Vericat [J. Math. Phys. 37, 4480(1996)]. In this paper, we propose a revised generalized Kolmogorov-Sinai-q entropy under Markov shifts. The form of this generalized entropy with factor q is nonextensive. The new generalized entropy contains the classical Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy and Renyi entropy as well as Bernoulli shifts as special cases. Applying the generalized entropy we discuss its approximate behavior qualitatively, the entropy rate and the sensitive value q^* of the nonextensive parameter q, which may exit in the interval (-2,2) nearby where the generalized entropy return to the classical K-S entropy.

Abstract:Composition schemes are ubiquitous in combinatorics, statistical mechanics and probability theory. We give a unifying explanation to various phenomena observed in the combinatorial and statistical physics literature in the context of~$q$-enumeration (this is a model where objects with a parameter of value $k$ have a Gibbs measure/Boltzmann weight $q^k$). For structures enumerated by a composition scheme, we prove a phase transition for any parameter having such a Gibbs measure: for a critical value $q=q_c$, the limit law of the parameter is a two-parameter Mittag-Leffler distribution, while it is Gaussian in the supercritical regime ($q>q_c$), and it is a Boltzmann distribution in the subcritical regime ($0<q<q_c$). We apply our results to fundamental statistics of lattice paths and quarter-plane walks. We also explain previously observed limit laws for pattern-restricted permutations, and a phenomenon uncovered by Krattenthaler for the wall contacts in watermelons.

G_q-concurrence and entanglement constraints in multiqubit systems

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a category of one-parameter bipartite entanglement quantifiers, termed $G_q$-concurrence ($q>1$), and show rigorously that they satisfy all the axiomatic conditions of an entanglement measure and can be considered as a generalization of concurrence. In addition, we establish an analytic formula relating $G_q$-concurrence to concurrence for $1<q\leq2$ in two-qubit systems. Furthermore, the polygamy relation is presented based on the $G_q$-concurrence of assistance in multiqubit systems. As far as $G_q$-concurrence ($1<q\leq2$) itself is concerned, however, it does not obey the monogamy relation, but we prove that the square of $G_q$-concurrence does. By means of this monogamy inequality, we construct a set of entanglement indicators that can detect genuinely multiqubit entangled states even when the tangle loses its efficacy.

Abstract:We consider information characteristics of single qudit state (spin j=9/2), such as von Neumann entropy, von Neumann mutual information. We review different mathematical properties of these information characteristics: subadditivity and strong subadditivity conditions, Araki-Lieb inequality. The inequalities are entropic inequalities for composite systems (bipartite, tripartite), but they can be written for noncomposite systems. Using the density matrix, describing the noncomposite qudit system state in explicit matrix form we proved new entropic inequalities for single qudit state (spin j=9/2). In addition, we also consider the von Neumann information of a qudit toy model as a function of a real parameter. The obtained inequalities describe the quantum hidden correlations in the single qudit system.

Abstract:We introduce quantum weighted entropy in analogy to an earlier notion of (classical) weighted entropy and derive many of its properties. These include the subadditivity, concavity and strong subadditivity property of quantum weighted entropy, as well as an analog of the Araki-Lieb inequality. Interesting byproducts of the proofs are a weighted analog of Klein's inequality and non-negativity of quantum weighted relative entropy. A main difficulty is the fact that the weights in general do not commute with the density matrices.
