Abstract:Solar Water SplittingElectrically connected and optically paralleled photoelectrochemical-photovoltaic tandem architecture is placed on the coast in sunlight. A photovoltaic cell produces electricity and provides it to a photocathode. A silicon photocathode, which consists of TiO2 nanorods passivation layer and MoS2 nanoplates, is submerged under sea water and generates hydrogen gas. As can be seen from the enlarged part on the cover, the edge-exposed MoS2 nanoplates contribute to active hydrogen evolution. More details can be found in article 2103457 by Jin Young Kim, Ho Won Jang, and co-workers.
